Just polished out the scratches from the face of mine and put a new battery in.the battery has lasted true to the claim of ten years.great work watch that may do another ten years yet
I bought my Skmei 1278 about 4 years ago. I have had to change the battery once in that time so it doesn't last 10 years. It's a good watch. The viewing angle isn't great, so you have to look straight at it, but the EL backlight makes up for it. I did manage to break the buckle on the strap, but fortunately I had a spare one which fit, and was actually an upgrade as the original buckle was rather brittle plastic, and the replacement was metal. I got a scratch in it early on, but it hasn't got any worse and still looks pretty decent. It runs about 11 seconds fast a week, but as long as you don't let it get too far ahead, it's simple to correct. Skmei tends to claim water resistance of 5 bar for plastic watches and 3 bar for metal ones. I treat them as splashproof, I wouldn't take one swimming on in the shower.
The Skmei is cheaper than the Casio and so you do get what you pay for. I also broke the cheap plastic buckle, and yes the battery doesn't last as long and I don't trust the waterproofing. To be honest, for the price of a Casio around $30-40 compared to a $15-20 Skmei, I would rather go for the Casio... it is a better quality, more reliable watch and save you the hassle. I wouldn't buy a clone of a Casio from Skmei ever again... but Skmei does make some other interesting watches that I would buy, especially if the price difference is much greater than the original.
Very good review, thank you 👍🏻. Could you tell me something? I got the skmei one and the backlight does a buzzing sound when it's on. Does yours do that too?
Not really, no buzzing for me. Open it and check to see if your chime speaker (piezo-electric) is somehow shorted to the case or button. Maybe when you press that it's making sound go through that little speaker?
I don't know but the band on the Skmei already broke... it's using a plastic buckle instead of metal. If you buy one or a replacement band make sure they have metal buckles!
@@jasonclarke7422 Good decision, if you can get a Casio at a good price they are definitely worth it. My Casio is still going strong over a few decades... I doubt the Skmei can last anywhere that long, and also battery life. So once you factor in cost of battery replacements and straps and so on, the Casio is more economical than Skmei over the long run!

Yes, Casio is excellent! Works great and accurate!

How does the Skmei have a better backlight than the Casio?
The Casio is not IndiGLO-style, it was before they introduced it. All new ones probably come with IndiGLO type backlighting as does the SKMEI.
I can vouch for skymei 1268 water proofing my skymei is over ten years still going brill 😊
Seems to have better features countdown timer and 5 alarms just missing vibration.
Thanks sir
I picked up a Casio 96H at Walmart for Five Dollars! That makes it less expensive than the Skmei!
Awesome find! Must have been on sale because that is a really good deal! Casio all the way!
Five dollars at Walmart wow that is a great deal! 👍
Your Skmei is 1 second ahead or is your Casio 1 second slow 🤔

I chose to buy a Casio w800h as it was in a sell and I got a good discount on the original price 👍
