That's a lovely castle - you can see the remnants of the lime wash on the walls - the whole thing would have been bright white paint inside, and I guess rugs hanging on the walls for warmth as they could afford them. Those toilets are amazing, most castles seem to have just one ! I would imagine if they could afford to keep fires going in all those rooms that the thick walls would retain the heat after a while, so these places might not have been as cold as they seem today !
