I love Diath’s continuous hate for murderbot lol. The scene where he’s staring through the window in horror and spite as Paultin and Evelyn celebrate Murderbots reappearance definitely deserves some fan art.
I spat tea out when Nate said: "I don't want to disturb anyone... But I think we've been sent to a different time."
Possibly my favourite episode so far, I also loled at: "Okay here's the plan... And without saying anything else I open the box."
So Evelyn is a robot... who was sent back in time... to stop another robot from killing a woman who will decide the fate of the world? Am I finally watching a Terminator 2 D&D stream!?
"But it's not our box" I love that THIS is the thing that Paultin has morals about, but does so many other illegal/questionable things.
Holy crap, Nate _killed_ it this episode. I love the other players too, but they were always pretty good. Considering where Nate started he was amazing in this episode. Even compared to like five episodes ago he's improved so much. He used to only really roleplay when Chris Perkins directly involved him, but this game he was just going on by himself voluntarily and it was so refreshing. I don't know what changed but I hope it stays that way. He's an incredible roleplayer when he opens up!

So the Simon in this timeline doesn't KNOW Paultin and Evelyn, which is why he isn't obeying them. His original purpose was to kill Tatiana which is why he keeps shooting at her. Holy shit this is GENIUS. Can't wait to see where this goes.
I was stunned they spent this entire episode without entering combat.

Holly was great, but I thought Nate did amazing this episode. He usually only reacts when Chris directly involves him but this episode he was finally roleplaying a whole lot all by himself and it was great. It made everything flow much better and was super enjoyable.

When Paultin was asked "How do you get it to talk?" by the Duchess, he should have said "The trick is getting her to shut up"

Well, the sword and the time-travel were explained to Evelyn, but all she got about the sword was animal friend and Mordenkainen was raving almost incoherently.
Evelyn and Paultin: would rather see Ireena die (again) and all of Barovia descend into darkness than even take away the evil murderbot's poison darts. #Priorities. Also, if y'all wanna be parents, you can't let your kid try to murder someone (TWICE) after you told them not to before, and then not discipline them in any way.
Darrin Scott I'm hoping eventually Chris takes away Evelyn's Paladin powers, or some way to show that she's definitely not of good alignment anymore. If she wants to play a "paladin" that way then the rest of the aspects of her character should at least reflect that.

First off, Evelyn and Lathandar are both neutral good (Paladins are no longer restricted to being lawful-only, unless the DM houserules this for some silly personal reason). Secondly, there's a big difference between perpetrating evil and being unable to stop it. Not to mention every example given here fails to account for circumstances surrounding the events. For example, why would Lathandar give a crap about drow murdering each other in cold blood? Or Simon darting Vistani who are in league with Strahd? Unless she is actively working against her god's alignment, then no, she isn't breaking her paladin oath.

The Waffle Crew gets a little forgetful with details sometimes. “Did Paultin know Evelyn was having Simon remade?” Yes, there was that whole ‘Simon has two dads’ scene when Diath handed over the gems to pay for it. “Nah, Paultin didn’t know.” “Did Evelyn know about Diath’s sword?” Yes, they had a talk where Evelyn talked about having a talking animal friend and both Diath and Strix saying no. “Nope, Evelyn didn’t know anything about that.” :P I know there are weeks between the recordings, so I understand. I just find it amusing.
to be fare, it is weeks between sessions. easy to forget the little stuff under those conditions.
The same happens sometimes in regular D&D games, too

It feels like dnd is making a big come back, and Chris Perkins is a rock star in it.
Liquidbricks I would say it never left, but with the introduction of 5E, which makes it a shit ton easier to pick up and play, I think many finally decided to give it a try, since the learning curve has diminished considerably from the days of AD&D back in the 70's/80's when I originally started playing!

Who would love to see some of the cast of Stranger Things play a game with Chris Perkins DMing?
This episode started of great! I admired the change of atmosphere from really dark in the last session to somewhat bright. Strix collecting flowers at the beginning was so funny!
But, I also thought the crew acted a little confused during the talk with Tatyana and Sergei. I would love to know what other viewers make of it, but for my taste, this could have been approched a little more serious.
Because all of this must be extremly tough for Tatyana to process and the situation could have been a opportunitiy for the paladin to really help her. I saw Evelyn get to great emotional depth, so she is able to do this, but I felt she didn´t really try with Tatyana.
And one other question: Why is the group allowing this puppet "murderbot" to kill people in front of their eyes? (I haven´t watched all of the episodes from start to finish, so forgive me, if this is explained in one of the earlier episodes! I`m also not a native speaker, so I hope you can understand my english...).
Fenri lorf Idk, Murderbot is "cute" and adorable so that makes him a gimmick for the group. This leads to them overlooking the problems that he's causing and it's clearly going against Evelyn's duties as a Paladin. Diath or Strix should have just destroy him regardless or how Evelyn or Paultin felt about it.

the future simon I was kinda uncomfortable with watching them keep Simon. Now it seems just ridiculously stupid to keep him after he tried to kill Tatjana multiple times.
That's been Diath's point from day one. The thing about it is that it's maladjusted and just wants to be loved. However under Perkins I think it acts out for shock value.

Yesper was also the name of the ghost of a dead boy Strix saw before she was resurrected. Way back when they were trapped in the Temple of Amber.

Den Wolf Pretty much and I think it's better this way honestly. Curse of Strahd was awesome, but the DCA version of Storm King's Thunder was... lacking. I hope Chris continues with homebrew and stays far away from STK.
I also enjoy homebrew campaigns more, so i hope they do it.
He said on the stream of annihilation that he's combining the leftover plot threads from CoS, Storm kings thunder, and a couple things from Tomb of annihilation for the rest of this "season", so definitely not something you'll find in the books at this point.

Were I Chris I would have had to break Evelyn-bot's ability to speak like that. Even Awesome-O spoke better. She still should be cast off by Lathander for essentially being Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Greedy and ignoring murders and sheltering an evil murderer.

Why is Chris letting them get away with allowing Simon to kill people?
I legit dislike the "Simon is our son" roleplay.
Paultin should've made it very clear to Evelyn after she resurrected in his body that he was only ever joking about Simon being their son.
Letting the bot kill NPC's at will is just plain dumb.
I don't like the angle either since it's criminally negligent but Paultin has always been in complete earnest about loving that thing.
I know Chris Perkins is the DM and there's a possibility of doing it just for giggles but, he's been cutting Jared off quite a bit lately.

At this point I am so over Evelyn’s Simon thing.
Oh wow... I kind of wish I was a player in this game -- though I wouldn't be super keen to play in front of an online audience. But I'd definitely be trying some different tactics. Also I'd be curious how a lore-seeking Warlock (one of my favorite classes) would fit in. Or maybe I'd go Druid so I could provide some healing assists and thematically appropriate animal forms. But either way, I think I'd have a character who'd be far more pro-active about all the troubling situations and probably wind up in a leadership role though I wouldn't _really_ want it. I'd send Paultin to go on a walk with li'l murderbot to keep it away from it's targets. Maybe have Diath tag along and assign both to keep an eye on Strahd. Then Evelyn and Strix put on "guard" duty to either smuggle the targets away to a safe spot -- I'd probably go with them since protecting those two is very important -- or find a way to take their spots (Strix's "bad" idea isn't so bad, really).
And while taking the two targets away from the castle would be a good idea, getting them out unnoticed would be a challenge (with on polymorphed into a mouse that might not be so bad, maybe have Paultin make the other invisible). Also, there's a chance that simply removing them would just allow Strahd to declare himself Lord of Barovia in his brother's sudden absence and with no resistance.
I'd also mention that while killing Strahd would be one possible solution, it may also be true that he isn't yet beyond salvation. Maybe. If he hasn't committed the foul deed of murdering his brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law, and isn't yet a vampire (let alone a vampire lord) then there is at least a sliver of hope for him. And so, Diath and Paultin would have the provisional goal of talking reason into him if, while watching him, there seemed to be some chance of that succeeding, or of keeping him from whoever Tempts him to the darkness...
Also, that child clown murderbot has gotta go. It may be rash, but if pushed to it, my character might try to separate Paultin & Evelyn from that murderbot so that I could see it destroyed for good. I'd think even just a simple Firebolt from Strix would be enough.

This episode felt the most railroady of all so far. It's a good story, but it seems like they are more characters in a play than actualized PCs right now.
I really hate how Evelin defends Simon, like she isn't stupid. Like that feels so out of character, I know they have attachments to the previous Simon but it's like, REALLY!? Paultin is more understandable because, Chaotic Neutral.

It's basically isolated by being in the Domains of Dread. That's kind of interesting and unique.
And he wants them to erase the Curse of Strahd once and for all so creating an alternate timeline kind of defeats the purpose.
I'm a newcomer to DCA. Started only one video prior to this. How/Why is Evelyn a robot? It says she's a Human Paladin.

Remagwodahs Diath and Stryx had died and been revived. Long time later a curse was causing all people who have died before to slowly die again. They carried out a Vestani ritual to remove the curse but it required Evelyn to sacrifice herself. But before the curse could whisk her away permanently Paultin was able to intervene (as an extension of the ritual). Her consciousness was transferred to the dead construct formerly known as Murderbot/Simon.
Remagwodahs Which Evelyn had tried to get rebuilt by a master craftsman. But the craftsman had become obsessed with her and had rebuilt Simon in her likeness.
Oh, wow, that's pretty cool. Shouldn't they change the overlay to her being a Construct Paladin, then? Oh well, thanks so much for answering the question!

Especially people whom have not done anything evil?
All they had to do was to save Strahds brother.
Sergei isn't a match for Strahd and he will kill him if left to his own devices. It's not even as if it's a momentary thing and the Count has never ever felt remorse for his fratricide. So yeah they see it as the only option because it literally is.

Diath just needs to grow some balls and off Simon already. Evelyn's and Paultin's antics are starting to become ridiculous and they're putting an entire realm of lives at risk by letting Simon do whatever he wants. If he nearly killed someone twice, with Perkins clearly letting you know he's evil, then you just need to put him down.
Where's the fun in that?
The fun in keeping Simon alive? there is no fun in that.
I mean, if the Evelyn construct is made out of the bits of Simon, technically she would cease to live.

as i understand it. a god sent them back in time or the destruction of the evil powers sent them hurling through time.
they could leave well enough alone but are too freaking good (for a three fourths chaotic team may i mention) to just drop it.
the duchess wants to bed stradh but stradh loves his brothers fiancee, so the duchess makes murder bot with the sole objective to kill her.
the duchess is the temptress and simon is the marionette.
the executioner is strahd cause he kills his brother after being tempted by the dark powers.
upon sergei's death the fiancee is so distraught that she throws herself to her own death to be with the man she loves.
strahd them creates the present day barovia to insure that his brothers soul can never be with his fiancee's.
they could just turn strahd into something defenseless and carry him away from the castle. insuring that strahd never carries out his plans.. but no... they need to kill him.. and they need to make everyone believe he's the bad guy that he has yet to turn into.
*They Need To Do All This...* because.. *Strix Knows Magic!*

Seriously someone teach Holly magic use in d&d.. It's frustrating to watch. All the concentration spells and spell slots she is not keeping track off. Like by the end of the episode she doesn't have any 4 or 5 level spell slots left. And the worst part Perkins isn't keeping track either.
I'm more irritated that they should have corrected this due to feedback by this point
