Yes, the button that Chanyeol was pushing while he was talking to Sehun in the recording booth was literally just a button you push in order to turn on the intercom, which allows the person in the booth to hear what the person in the studio is saying. It allows them to control what is being heard, that way they can talk to each other in the studio without interrupting or interfering with the recording that is happening in the booth unless they have something important that needs to be said. Chanyeol and Sehun are the main rappers of the group, so they often write their own rap sections, therefore, Chanyeol was making sure Sehun and he were on the same page so their rap styles, etc. matched. Chanyeol is often the one that takes the lead when it comes to making decisions about the raps in EXO's songs because he has more experience as a producer. And yes, there is air conditioning in the booth. This is SM Entertainment, the founder of the Kpop industry and one of the richest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea and around the world. Literally everything the company does is located within their Kwangya headquarter building in Seoul, South Korea, so no expense is spared. They can definitely afford to have air in all parts of their building. It's not a small company that has to cut costs. They have multiple recording studios, film studios, dance studios, classrooms, meeting rooms, a cafe, a store, lounges, etc. within that one building. There is so much contained within SM's Kwangya building, they can pretty much do everything without leaving the building.
