To anyone who wants to do this on something thats not an artprint: Do it! But first varnish the painting with some synthetic paint varnish (the one that modern painters usually use). That way, if you or anyone else ever wants to remove the paint of top of the original painting, it will be easier! (or more like, possible at all haha, basically the same process as an art restoration).
I’m a paintings conservator and I absolutely recommend! If you do this, try to see if the painting is already varnished and give it a clean beforehand with some cotton swabs, for the most part water will be fine to clean a varnish layer but will help the new layer stick and not trap dirt in between them. It’ll also help you colour match the new painting to the old and blend it in :)
Omg noooo I had a concussion around the age of 12... If I do wake up and this reality we're a dream or figment of imagination I hope I remember everything.
folk art is also a cheap acrylic paint brand not as cheap as apple barrel but it needs little to no layers so it’ll save you quite a bit of time 10 outta 10 recommend
I'm definitely trying this. I think I'd go with bigger pixels though. That way you could blend the edges and give it the blurry effect close up as well as from a distance.
Idk why but the algorithm has stopped showing me your videos. Had to look up if you were still posting and looks like I have some serious catching up to do.
something i find funny is that flowers are the reproductive organs of plants. so they're plant genitals. so you pixelating them reminds me of what they do in magazines and tv shows to censor other peoples private areas. kinda meta in a way (tbh not sure if i'm using "meta" properly in this context but i can't figure out what word would work best to describe this)
God and Jesus are not rotten, even if people make the choices to be rotten, specifically at church. Unfortunately not everyone has the opportunity to go to church or be with people that are spiritual. And this is the most unfortunate part about people and life. Feeling include a sense of spiritual security and understanding. Because emotions are difficult. And it is very important to set kids up with this development. Or it seems like there is something missing and it's confusing, because the skills to recognize and understand are not there... This is risky because many people may not understand nor have the integrity to be intuitive. And it's not Great, when you feel like someone else is Always thinking for you, and in opposition you feel Alone... See how this works?
If you like to write things to help you memorize what you have to do, I recommend you some pocket notebook with a fountain pen. Really useful and life changing. It keeps you organize with your storm ideas for videos, projects, to do list... A very affordable fountain pen is Lamy Safari F (fine line). If you are more like of a thick line go ahead with the M size. For pocket notebooks you can try field notes, traveler's company, moleskine... It is less sketchy than grabbing a single piece of paper and very handy. Ty for reading this comment, hope this helps someone :)
Is this reply computer generated? The point of noting what ideas you have is to jot them down quickly before you forget them so you can work on them as projects later How is a pocket notebook and a fountain pen life changing? Anything is good, phone notes or a biro pen and any kind of notebook is sufficient
Have you ever think about God? Life have more meaning than what you think…have you ever thought about what happens when you die or that your body will stop existing and you without God?? Where will your soul go? And you without God almighty.
thats not what gentrification means lmao... if anything, turning a painting thats been collecting dust at a goodwill into something that will continue to be appreciated and enjoyed is oftentimes respectful to the art object. kintsugi ceramics comes to mind, also music sampling is "upcycling art" in a different medium
Not sure it is classed as gentrification but I see what you’re saying. Its only upcycling because he doesn’t particularly like it, so it might be trash if he didn’t make it look interesting to him.
Whether you like it or not is personal preference but I don't think it's an actual painting, looks like a canvas print of one so he's not ruining the actual painting itself if that's what you're worried about

Looks great! And i think this would be great practice for folks just learning how to mix colors.
I’m currently learning how to mix colour, and when watching I also had the same thought as you!
The painting is called Nature's Glory II by Albert Willliams. It's not 1/1.
This is the most perfect idea for a piece of art I have!!! Been staring at it for almost 2 years now

I really like this effect, could you pixelate the frame a bit too? Would be super trippy
Ohhh yea new shmoxd content!!

If anything a fountain pen is worse in this case because the ink smudges and can explode in your bag etc
Lamy safari gang
Yes but can I get it as an nft?

😅
This makes me sad.
What? Why?
What? Why?
Art isn’t something that can be upcycled, that’s just gentrification. If you don’t like it don’t buy it, or make your own
shhh this is good content
