Thought you should know, over a year ago I was unemployed and living on COVID benefits. I had a stroke. It took about 4 months to get my dexterity back an walk again. During that time, I tried a bunch of your projects. They looked like shit. I still have a couple bags of panty hose and embroidery hoops from trying to silkscreen and embroider. LOL. Today, I have a good job. 10 months now. Both hands on a keyboard. I just want you to know that you were a part of that whole thing and what you do ripples out. Life is good again. I check out your page from time to time. Keep on doing what you do.
The fact you thought of ways to use household items to create a wax mold and cast for this ring was amazing. I've done some jewellery making before and never thought I'd be able to even begin to think of ways to create things like that at home. Great thinking-outside-of-the-box there Shmoxd. (: P.S. you had better had a mask on when melting down those plastic bags! I know you and your unsafe creative processes!!!
I was thinking the same thing. I've taken a few jewelry classes and I follow many designers on IG, but didn't think I could do wax casting with simple household items!
every time u do something i have to violently fight the urge to pause my current projects to start making plans to try it myself (even when things don't work, it looks so fun!!)
This is so cool. I almost never miss a video of yours and i really love that you always just experiment around and make stuff work (and sometimes it doesn‘t and that‘s cool as well)
Dude! I love your videos. Whenever I'm in a bad mood, I just inexplicably come back to your videos. Your aesthetic, and originality really shine thru man. Thank you for your videos :)
Really like this video ! Don’t mind the comments your trying for yourself and that’s the cool part. Remember when you first made a video on those rings and loved them right away ha !
Yay! I'm making for my gems from a place called Pigeon Forge.. I loved the Gem mining there!! But they had lots to do besides that! Dolly World (only stayed in hotel next to that.. Didn't get to see it inside DW tho) and stuff is there also❤️ Great Stuff for making for my Souvenirs! Thanks so much❤️🙏💯
That's so easy, I lost my Ring outside in snow on my walk home from my 9th grade math exam. I'm in 12th grade now, the last complement I remember was for that ring. It's nice I have something to recreate since their not on you're website anymore. All I have is that cheesy skull patch from when I bought the ring
I haven't done lost wax sand casting since last century, so I would've failed in a slightly different manner. :) Your attempt was a good one and I enjoyed watching it and was hoping it would work the entire time, despite the video description.
Ayo why is the stick and poke video still up, my guy? Are you deadset on causing a bunch of kids to get sepsis or what? Take it down, champ, you're too good at what you do to be that irresponsible.
Yeah, or they're gonna end up like me... with ugly, nasty stick and pokes (yes they did get infected) from when I was 13. If you're 13 and reading this, I promise it won't fall out in 2 years, and it will always look like sh*t, actually it will look sh*ttier over time! Wait until you're older and your style solidifies so you can pick tattoos that you really will love always, and get them done at a reputable parlor by a good artist so they look nice for years to come👍 bad tattooing, even by a professional can blow out (ink spreads and becomes cloudy). I've got one from a bad artist from 10 years ago, totally blown out and a black blob. Some from 7 years ago that I paid out the a$$ for and they still look fresh.
Im confused.. you mentioned that you had made several of these rings already so why all the trial and error and unsuccessfulness? Im pondering in the most respectful way I promise, just curious. I love your creativity.
I love how you always show the process and allow yourself to make mistakes enough times for a victory. The hand design itself turned out to be such a perfect representation of your drawing style, not JUST because you drew it but because it also incorporated your lines and proportions. I also want to add, without being “that person”, that it is generally not ok to use the word “ghetto” as a descriptor for something “bad”. Historically, ghettoes were walled-off or segregated areas within a larger city into which marginalized populations such as Jews and African-Americans were forced into- whether as a consequence of law, systemic racism or both. Overcrowded, disproportionately-policed, and extremely under-supported by municipal services (sewage, trash, clean water, electricity) these places were meant to keep the people within them living a cycle of poverty and despair. Using that word implies something is low-class. We can do better! ❤
I absolutely love the way you show the bullshit way to do things. That being said, the way you treat your little cast iron pan kinda hurts my fealings.
Bro you made a ring into exactly the same ring, I thought there was gonna b minor traces of silver in the cat litter and you were going to turn that into a ring!! Ffs

I think normally with wax casting like that you pour the metal right on top and the wax burns off

really cool design!
reminds me of a ring a buddy of mine has that's a tentacle wrapping around his finger

Okay the process was a roller coaster but the end result is amazing 😂

Ur so innovative! Love seeing ur process
Wait did u melt an old hand ring to make the same exact hand ring? Brilliant. Love it
Definition of „it‘s about the process“
never once thought I'd read that string of words together but I'm not disappointed
That is such a cool ring
That’s insane! You amazing. I wonder if the plastic bag made the wax more brittle? It was awesome watching it melt though. What an experiment.
These are some of my favs. The videos. Love the diversity.
You were missing flux to help the silver melt and flow, but the result was great for the tools you had!
There’s no link to the giveaway 😭
Small question, could you theoretically melt up a silverspoon?🤔 like cut it up first and then try to melt it like the silver balls?
Yes. Be sure it is not EP or plated. Make sure the torch you're using gets hot enough.
I always eat snacks when I watch your vids. ❤
Can you try making your own clay and then make some pottery with that clay? Would love to see it!
I love the kisses at the end 🥰
How did you make the ring 6 times before, but couldn't figure it out this time?
Perfect Christmas gift for my husband ❤
Love this ring you are so creative 👍
I liked your turquoise pinky ring lol
Love dat face it makes me smile😁😁
Stay Groovy✌~N~💖~N~ Granny Hugs👵🤗🤗
Shmoxd don't know words lol
Love your content, super cool!
I couldn't figure how the kitty litter would play into it but I'm relieved, unlike Strudel because you took their potty stuff away. 😉
you’re my favorite youtuber bryan
Im confused.. you mentioned that you had made several of these rings already so why all the trial and error and unsuccessfulness? Im pondering in the most respectful way I promise, just curious. I love your creativity.
I think he means he’s used this design before, but not the method. The had a old video where he makes the ones that he has on in the beginning
Maybe you can try tp put very small paper or fabric fibres in the wax to make it stronger.
When are we getting the tent jacket video 😫😫
love the content bro!! keep it up:)
I was here when the first hand ring video came out lol
You have to use flux, if the silver wont melt.
I dig!
What's the point of the wax? Couldn't you have just used the metal mold?
Very cool
Sickkk!
Pot is the word you were looking for lol
Awesome
Comments going crazy thread aka the correct Shoxmd thread.

wow!
Just cancelled my shmoody pies subscription, there is no stuck for the t shirts, patches neither the beanies and I have waited for a whole month.

Thanks for the kisses
You can melt pewter in an electric frying pan. Just sayin'.
❤️
It’s a stock pot, friend.
Dude I am always enamoured of your jewellery projects but too intimidated to try…..
Well shit, I was going to bed, but...
Melt some Pennies!
You are weird and cool
