      respect is earned not given brother. He earns it with his humbleness and sticking to the coach’s role. he doesnt get involved in the politics and drama of the promotion side of the sport unlike other coaches that carry their fighter’s egos and play managers talking about who deserves what, those coaches dont earn respect in my opinion.

      Yeah fans can be fickle, but more should be pointed out in biased commentary and promoting. I can understand casuals not getting it but I hold commentators to a higher standard especially when they are former fighters themselves. Dc clearly has favorites, Bisping goes off topic, Rogan cannot objectively call a fight from some of the fighters he has on his show.

    His corner advice was so good. “You didn’t come all this way to lose a boring ass points decision to this mutha….ker.” That’s what Nicksick said at the end of the fourth round. Great cornering by this man, had Sean dialed in. Whereas on Izzy’s side, his corner had nothing for Izzy.

    • @flyingfrogofdeath9616
      @flyingfrogofdeath9616 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. I think that's part of the problem. Obviously things have worked excellently for them so far (Adesanya is one of the greatest ever) but it does feel like the gym is holding him in a different regard. It's like he's become so excellent that they second guess their own cornering. When Izzy got back to the corner several times like you said they had no answers. I can't remember which round it was but Israel comes back and says "I can't get past his jab" something along those lines. Eugene basically says that it's something they worked on. That was a fighter identifying a problem, bringing it to his coaches when he needs advice the most and he gets told to check his notes... shambles. Unfortunately, Izzy seems very loyal which is a good trait but you can't be loyal to a fault. I think he needs to step outside the gym, not change gyms, but get some work done with some people that don't regard him as family and certainly will tell him what's up instead of assuming their coaching is so damn good that a fighter will remember it after getting dropped seconds and minutes beforehand...

    I can now see why Ngannou preferred working with Eric Nicksick over Fernand Lopez. He creates a mentally stable and safe environment for his fighters whereas Lopez is kind of smothering with his coaching. He understood that due to Sean’s past, he’ll need more time to finally let his guard down and believe in the coaching staff’s inputs. He was never disappointed in Sean’s uncoachable behaviour at times. He held on to him till finally Sean gave in and became coachable.

    Crazy how the narrative being spun is that IZZY looked off due to strong scheduling and the two Potan fights being stressful is hilarious.
    Sean made him look off by concussing IZZY in the first.

    2:16 - Bullshit. Izzy lost all 5 rounds. Plain and simple. Never before have I seen someone's style broken down with pure technique. Izzy was absolutely out of options. Strickland showcased unparalleled calm and followed the gameplan as close to perfection as possible. What he did was stuff of legends. Simple as that.

    Nicksick's a solid guy in & outside the ring. He's not afraid of calling Francis out on his mma politic & relationship with Izzy. Sean's the type of guy that would give his last shirt off his back & take damage for his teammate in preparation for their next bout. Glad Xtreme Couture is finally getting their respective flowers 💐👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

    Fans can be fickle, but the problem with Adesanya is that it isn't just one off night. Despite the victories he's said himself that he had off nights against Romero and Cannonier in his first reign and is fortunate that his aura of invincibility at the time put those guys off really taking it to him. He's dropped the belt twice in his last 3 fights, and with no defences in the second reign and losing a complete shut out, it's no surprise that there's backlash to the idea of an immediate rematch, especially when we can now un-jam the division and have some fresh matchups and fun fights.

    He just knows he is getting paid more in a Izzy rematch. There is no way Izzy deserves a second instant rematch after that, it's all about money. Saying that, it's a good money fight for Sean as well and he did say they are whores so there we go, that's what will happen and the division will freeze up once again.
