I absolutely love this movie. It was amazing in the cinema. I remember the cinema I was in even switched off half of their stair lights in order to make things even darker. This was also a time when cell phones didn't have such bright screens. It was a great experience which we will probably never have again
Great review. Yeah I agree the movie is underrated for sure. The 4k transfer looks awesome. Like you said film grain is heavier in some scenes & lighter in others, but not distracting at all. I didn't notice the white specks that you mentioned, I will have to rewatch & see if I notice it. The black levels are amazing as well. It's worth the upgrade for sure! It's a really fun Sci-fi action movie!
Loved it. Lots of special features and they are on the 4K disc, no need to switch to a bluray. The reversible cover art is a nice touch too. Would have liked a slip cover but you cant win em all. I'm looking forward to Arrow 4Ks in the future.
Dialogue on this was bad for me, too low, and several scenes had really heavy film grain. I like the Riddick saga, but 4k Gremlins and 4k Flash Gordon were more enjoyable.
Very disappointed in this release. There is practically no HDR. No immersive audio mix. This could have easily just been a 4K transfer to a 1080p Blu-ray. The white specks you mentioned were obvious in this transfer. The film is grainy, and I don’t mind film grain, but this was uneven, as you mentioned in your review. Black levels were not great with some heavy noise. I’m holding off on buying before seeing reviews on their future 4Ks.

Awesome review Adam, appreciate your work and effort!
Fun movie just rewatched not long ago
thanks. arrow could've cleaned up those white flecks/specks (which were black debris on the negative) digitally.
If you flip the outer artwork over It is the same art work, but a daytime scene.
Thank you!
Only part of this film that I dont like are the flashing lights towards the very beginning, very distracting for me
I will wait for the German UNIVERSAL UHD = DTS X
It's Just The Specs That Are On Your GLASSES...

Vin Diesel is a pretty mediocre actor but this character is a perfect fit for him. Awesome movie
I dislike the cover art. Something about the anatomy looks off. I can't put my finger on it, but something looks weird.
