Picked up a 1980 XS1100G this afternoon. Much worse condition, but better price: free. Struggling at this very moment with that d*amned fairing! Will be watching this build (now long since complete, I expect) with interest.
Need to know how the inside of the coweling is wired. I just bought one but it has so many loose wires. Need to know how the relays inside the coweling are wired in
I thought about that but i actually really like the profile of this current tank. I might source a teardrop down the line to try it though. Thanks for the comment!
@@nuffmoto1798 : Keep trying. (Sometimes Top Cat gets too busy.) That website is a great resource! A wealth of info about these old bikes. I've had a '79 Special for thirty years & just picked up an '81 Special with all the touring stuff on it. Thanks for the video. Going to save me a lot of time when I get ready to strip the fairing off.

You could swap tanks for the teardrop tank

You got a ton of work ahead of you man. Hop on xs11.com and share your progress.

Have you still got the fairing ?
Nope, sold it to a local kid for his project
I am doing a similar build to an identical XS1100. I have only posted it on Instagram so far. Look at hashtag #xs100caferacer
Thanks! Just checked it out. Your bike is looking good and giving me more motivation to get back in garage!
