You get it! Jones choices are guided by fear. This is why he took all the steroids to fight Daniel Cormier as he felt he could not beat Cormier naturally. He refused to fight Francis because he was scary, but he knew Gane had some of the worst take down defense in the whole UFC.
Jon is afraid of Aspinall who is super complete and a true heavyweight, but Alex would be easy to take down. UFC has changed their drug policies to accommodate Jon still juicing tho - many people missed that, but UFC upped their threshold levels on just the drugs Jon was taking. Essentially they are letting Jon juice as he can not compete clean.

One piece of information that people overlook is the fact that Pereira was brought in to help Glover prepare for his fight against Thiago and ended up becoming a fixed part of his corner.
Pereira helped Glover become a Champion as much as Glover helped him become one.

It's healthy to be happy about someone close to you being successful in something even if it's something that you came up short.

@@otunbak662 nope. Glover and Pereira were introduced by Joinha (their manager) he knew that Pereira was somewhat interested in MMA and Glover needed help with training. So he settled everything up.
Alex went to Glover's a bit before the pandemic hit to help with camp and then never left.

Looking back, Glover's title win wasn't as celebrated as it should have been. His rise to the title felt unreal, it was probably overshadowed by rise of other champions like Charles Oliveira.

even Joe Rogan said after a fight Alex won that he is sure that Gloves reemergence is because he started training with the best striker on planet earth. You could see it, Glovers confidence was much higher, his standup looked way better and his ground game was always lethal

hardest punch in combat sports history imo the knocked people dead with such short left hooks in Glory which is crazy whats even crazier is that what Alex is doing rn in the UFC hes doing all of it past his prime lol. Anyone who watched him compete in Glory from like 29 to 33 knows he was so much faster and more explosive. Back then when Alex was younger he also never had a problem cutting to 185 only as he got older he had to do it for his last Glory fight and now in the UFC. Its so much easier to make the weight cut when you are young. I even seen an online interview where even Alex said that he feels 100% that he is not in his physical prime anymore. He said he was faster back then and more explosive and the cut was so much easier

Glover and Alex's lives are pretty much movies.
Glover became a champion at an older age, but couldn't keep up with the young guys because of his age.
Then we have Alex, grew up dirt poor, became an alcoholic and worked in a tire shop. Trained kickboxing at age 21, and became a 2-division champion in GLORY. Went to the UFC after getting called out by Adesanya, then went on to also become a 2-division champion in the UFC under the guidance of Glover. He even got the LHW belt by defeating the two people that beat Glover.
If this was a movie, I'd watch it. Matter of fact, they SHOULD make it a movie.

Just like every weight division who has guys too small, just right or too big. Rumble was a small light heavyweight, Alex is a big light heavyweight. Rumble didn't have the reach, the striking experience, or the ring iq to beat Alex. It would be an easy night for Poatan.
Still Rumble never lost to a striker before. just because just because Rumble is shorter in height doesn't mean his at that much of a disadvantage. Alex reach at 79 inches and Rumble at 78 inches not much advantage for Alex. I'm not saying Rumble can beat Alex just how explosive this fight would be. In any stand up battle is crazy to count out Rumble.

Feels crazy that everything went Alex way beating Izzy and despite the KO loss in the rematch made it all the way to capture 205 gold. And people can't say he hasn't been tested there is probably not a fighter alive that can beat Jan, Jiri and Jamahal it all feels unreal like a dream I was tired of Izzy and Alex basically came in and saved TWO divisions
