It is nice to know that these little hatchbacks have a full compliment is safety systems to protect the occupants. It does however make them extremely tedious to repair! Nice job Rob, in that sweltering heat 🥵
Rob, love the honesty and openess of your videos. Some could have cut that bit out for the rear belts and just said done but you show us the reality of what you do and thats what we appreciate fella.
On leftover nuts and bolts- in WW2, Brian Johnston the cricket commentator was on a tank mechanic course, for reasons only known to the army. Having stripped and reassembled the engine, he and his mate had 4 large bolts left over. Not wanting to get the usual army tratment for a fail, they decided to put the bolts in the pocket of another trainee. That trainee was a certain Alec Douglas Home- later to become Prime Minister! True story!
Hi Rob, you're too young to remember the Harry Worth TV series, but you're left leg did a brilliant impression at 3:28 (ask someone in their early 70's about it). Your usual interesting and informative video lads - thank you.
Kudos to you Rob for changing that dash in the blazing sun! Just a thought for next summer, maybe get some kind of shelter or carport that you could put up in the summer so you could do some work outside without getting baked in the sun. Of course if you do, it would be a guarantee that it would rain all summer ;-) but then you could still work outside without getting soaked then. Have a good weekend gents!
This car is Yet another example that the blokes over here across the pond can’t have nice things. Nice work Rob. Good for you for using the Lamborghini whenever you can for running parts. Thank you for sharing
Just another day in the motor trade Rob , a challenge on most jobs , I used to love doing dash removals to replace air con roads and heater matrix jobs ,, the info you pass re seat belt and airbag control unit resets on to people is invaluable, and as you say its saving money and recycling , manufacturers should do dashboards where the airbag pod bolts in rather than a complete dash , but they are not bothered, more money for them 👍
You lads need to buy one of those temporary tents, with the fabric and frame work up above head height. Maybe add some venting flaps to ensure a sudden gust can't pull it off the weighted, flat main pole feet.
i've gone on about money ,so use some of it for an outside marquee ,to keep the sun off and robust enough for spring and autumn,in the meantime many thanks for the "real world ,warts and all video" you supply .
Feel your pain in this heat lads! Had nothing but van gearboxes, clutches and flywheels to do all week and because of the way the bay i work in is laid out, not only have i got the tin roof to contend with but also the sun on my back all afternoon from about 12 onwards...
Maybe you could get one of them self assembly gazebos Rob. It would protect you from the sun and also the rain when Chris has another vehicle on the ramp thus avoiding holdups.
I love how real you guys are and don't hide anything you show us the good and the bad stuff probably why you have so many subscribers because of your honesty well done another fantastic video
Well done on getting the dash sorted. Watching you guys has given me the inspiration to change the rear beam/axle on our Peugeot Partner yesterday, wasn't to bad of a job to be honest. Keep up the great work and content 👍🏻
Rob this isn’t a C3 Aircross it’s just an normal C3 hatchback. Don’t know who is telling you it’s an C3 Aircross but they need new glasses!! The C3 Aircross is a bigger SUV style Citroen Model smaller than the C5 Aircross. Enjoyed the video as usual 👍
That’s turning out to be a very beautiful little car really like that model!! Keep the good work up guys Looking forward to seeing it finished ✅ mate!! God bless ya all and enjoy the outstanding weather we’re getting Thank god for it !! Worst case scenario due to the heat is slacking off and it can’t be helped guys but you dude’s are flying through it !! More videos
Great video as usual. I'm currently repairing a C4 Cactus on 18 plate. Cat S from Copart with just under 14k on the clock. No airbags deployed and car was cheap.
It is crazy how on the production line they can install the dash board in about 5 minutes & it takes us mere mortals a good few hours to remove & install a dash. :)
Hi fellas once again your patience and premier league knowledge comes shining through on every car you do. There will always be one that will slip through the net. But as always you find the issue and fix it 100 percent, stay lucky and healthy as always looking forward to Monday have a fantastic weekend 😀.
its usually cheaper to cut the belts and replace if its a common car so well done getting these repaired,if you did a video on the detonaters being replaced in the belts it would be interesting because for the first time the other week i stripped one down and was amazed to see it fires like a gun and on closer inspection i could see it could be rebuilt with no firing mechanism but a micky fin resister put into the loom to fool the ecu everything is good and a look on the internet of sales shows me these 3 pence resisters in a box have sold many many times over, good video and i for one didnt realise it had pretensioners in the back so another learning day
Rob. Chris. Aircross here. Aircross there. It’s a C3 something. It’s a C3. Mega on the SIV. A Great buy. That’s all that matters. Nice C3 for those into a C3
Could use with a gazebo you can throw up in hot weather if you're working outside for a bit of shade. Also, for the workshop, you can get portable AC units...Chris could probably throw one together from old car parts that are still good, get it gassed and you have something that blows ice cold
LOL just watching Rob with his leg out the front drivers side you get treated to a Harry Worth in the reflection of the rear door. That dashboard change was amazing to watch not an easy job well done.
Rob you have the patience of a saint doing the dash and interior trims , Most guys would lose there temper so it's understandable that you forgot to check the rear seat belts , really enjoying the trilogy of cars your smashing out atm 👍
Hello Rob and Chris, as others have said, you are a top team working in this heat. Some good honest hard work was done there completing that job. The end result will be lovely. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
ROB, just a suggestion, can we have a leader board of all the DASH AIR BAG KITS that you’ve had to replace, give them a score OR a time to replace, when you do a new one, Citroen c3 example, just add it in on the list, all the best boys
Hi Rob and Chris I've seen you do dashboards before and this one looked a lot more niggley. I wouldn't class it as a fail because of the rear seat belts. It's just one of those things . As always a great video.
Hi Rob and Chris it is aC3 ,if the Steering Column is like my french car there is an electronic Steering Lock on that once you turn the key it should come off nice job..
Another job most people wouldn't have the confidence or skills to complete. Repeating myself but I still can believe copart sell these cars to anyone with money to buy. Your industry needs more regulation. Great video as usual. Top professionals at work!
The way you look at the end of the video - that's how I feel this Saturday afternoon. Hot and bothered and in need of a cold beer. Good work there and such a brilliant attitude of everything must work if it ever got into another accident. The pair of you might save a life with how you think. Cheers!
@@fwof3347 It''s not even 34'C here, just 32'2C in my garden with a daily max of 32.4C. (I have ran the weather station here for 20 years, but it's also humid and sticky. Cider helps.) I've likely seen more of Oz than you and have worked there as a railway engineer as well has visiting a few times to travel. Snow though-really? It's actually thunder and lightning warnings being chucked out for Mon/Tue. Might see some hail. And did you mean Male or Mail me ol cobber. Of course not. Enjoy you day if you are really there mush. Great video again gents. It's no wonder insurance is getting more expensive if it's so difficult to repair/replace safety equipment when it's integrated in seats/dashboards like that, and it's also a massive waste too, but it is what it is. It's going to be a cracking motor when it's done so keep it up lads 🙂 even when the heat is beating down on you 😬
Hi Rob - The seat belt problem wasn't a failure it was a learning opportunity. You won't miss checking all seat belts when you have one locked now. Most of us learn like this. Thought about parking the mobile home alongside with the awning up?
Hello Rob, great progress on the Citroen C3,I didn't think the back seat belts were affected but how annoying..once the paint has been done it will look smart.
How do you keep going in this heat? No wonder, there were a few items that have to get a second bit of attention. At least you are being philosophical about things that have evaded a first pass fix. Still a good catalogue of works that have left the production facility, just in time for a nice, restful weekend. Enjoy the weekend and a few cool ones of your choice.
Sitting in the sun watching Rob and Chris do what they do best :) ,make sure Chris has sun cream on his head as myself have no hair and ended up having scre when shower water was to hot hitting it.cheers fella.
Cracking Job on the Citroen C3 Rob. Your are going right through this car getting all the jobs and getting nipped in the bud like you always say Rob. Good little car Rob for someone just to jump in and drive of. Brilliant job as always. Thanks for the update on all your vehicles i really appreciate that. Have a lovely hot weekend with the sun out Rob and Chris
To me those dashnoard kits always look really complex but usualy just in a days work for you, but for you to say it was challenging suggests it was a right pain!. Nearly done on this one and will make a nice car although I'm not a fan of french cars. Looks like you will need some more stock soon I expect it is all in hand!
watching Chris beating the range rover bits into shape the other day and you with the dash today -- I mean they don't produce the vehicles with you two in mind do they !!
We live we learn !! Challenging Citroën, Rob you did your best !! But you will sort it !! And learn from your mistakes!! Awsome video yet again, have a fantastic weekend in the last bit of this heat !!

I love your honesty , you tell it as it is . Every car you done has its own little story . keep em coming .
Get a pop up gazebo to work under.
You could stick a freezer underneath and Chris could flog ice creams on the side.😎
Credit to you, Rob. What a ballsache of a job and in the heat too ! Thanks.

Rob it is C3, not a aircross. A aircross sits a little higher and has rod bars. The bubbles on the side are options.
Great video again guys.
This is just the Citroen C3.
The Aircross is higher and has three windows in the side.
Enjoy the sun😎😎.

My 1978 Mini has 4 fuses in it and if one blows I have to fit another one, how we have progressed!
we've been spoilt this week guys.great advice about looking at the replacement dash..saves alot of grief.

Well done Rob.....always find out how well engineered a car is when taking it apart! 👍
@UCqiz0YtVOaxJIcAN0ydlrEQ precisely. I was being facetious.....
Tough airbag change . I'm sure you mentioned the rear airbags previously.

As much as I love Citroens they certainly don’t make jobs easy. Why not create a bit of a covered area in the yard so you can work outside without bothering about rain or sun. There are ways to do it simply.
Or finish the Classic Range Rover and have that space 😂
Very brave to rebuild a Citroen dashboard! Citroen cars are normally built around the dashboard!
