House Renovation Update: Progress, Costs & What’s Left to Do!

- It’s time for a full catch-up on our house renovation journey! In this video, I’m sharing what we’ve accomplished so far, the challenges we’ve faced, and what’s still left to do. Plus, I’ll be revealing how much we’ve spent so far on transforming our home! Wow…. I can’t believe how much you have done in the house. Mike is incredible and considering it was not long since his surgery …. It’s amazing. You are both so focused and your house is going to be wonderful when you’ve finished. Love to you both and Willow of course x
Thank you Alison, I'm so proud of him, he has so many health issues but refuses to let them get the better of him. Some days he has to rest but like today he had 2 days off and now is dying to get back to it. xxx

Everything is being done to a very high standard of finish which is so difficult in an older house. You should both be very proud of all your hard work and patience with the conservakitchen!
We always fully strip & clean up as we go, wall by wall or half wall by half wall. Never leave all that mess on the floor. Thats a trip risk & dangerous!!!
Don’t worry Mike regularly cleans up, I’m same but can’t help some mess particularly when it’s the ceiling and you have the steamer on 🤣
Amazing how much brighter the new kitchen area is now you've striped the paper and lined the walls. Taking shape now Cheryl but 3 days off sounds much needed. I remember pink custard from school. Loving your new hair cut /colour looking fabulous ❤

I love panelling too ,I've got it in my bedroom, will be installing in the bathroom and lounge too .Your both getting so much done. I had a few days off as drs told me I have costacondritis ,I'd never heard of it but it's due to me overdoing it .Mike is wise to listen to his body when he needs his rest .Love you guys ,missed Willow this time ❤❤❤❤xx

Your both doing Amazing! I think your kitchen would look better if you got rid of half the kitchen wall and made it a big breakfast bar with lots of natural light from the kitchen window. My friend has the same house as yours and it looks really good. I,m sure whatever you decide it will look lovely Xx
Thanks lovely. I think we've redesigned the kitchen about 15 times 😂😂 and we're still unsure. Budget is getting tight though. Originally I wanted full open plan but didn't want the loo in the kitchen so decided to keep the utility separate. Got a video to finish on the kitchen I've chosen, thats coming out soon 😍❤️❤️xxx

@@cheryllifeat50 Hi Cheryl, well we were sunbathing at the beginning of the week but the last 3 days has been alot cooler and none stop rain !!! So much like the UK. Ugg , not like the cold rainy days and the wee Lamb we are looking after hates it too. We bought her a jumper to keep her cosy . Our wee Tilly doesnt enjoy it either. Today is brighter and no rain !'hooray'. Tilly and Leala [lamb] play great together, so cute. Leala plays like a lamb and head butts Tilly, so funny to watch. Suns out ,always a joy. Have a good day and hope you both get a bit of down time xx
The house is really coming along now, its going to look lovely, such hard workers! Ive got relatives in Yorkshire and love the accent ❤ When I hear you and Mike chat it reminds me so much of my late mum (which is comforting) as she was born in Pickering and even though she spent most of her life living in Kent, she never lost her accent ❤ p.s. i have a very large chalkboard in my kitchen, handmade, i used special chalkboard paint which i rollered on and its fab. A good idea if you want a big chalkboard. 😊

We had pink custard at school, and I’d completely forgotten about it. Yummy. My friend and I used to serve the teachers every Tuesday and it was always sausage and Mash. We a,ways used to keep some sausages back so we’d could have a pig out lol. It was great…..
your hair look fabulous. Can you tell me what a toner does? I have natural grey hair but it’s going lighter and lighter as it grows. Will a toner darken it?

Hi Gillian 😍So toner wise, its Loreal Paris Preference Platinum Ice But its not for grey hair, its for brassy bleached hair. I'm aiming to go for natural silver and stop the bleach blonde so I'm using toner to get my blonde to look more silver and get me through the transition stage. At first its quite strong and muddy but then it relaxes with washes and becomes much softer. If you have natural grey going lighter and you are happy don't touch it. See a really good hairdresser about clean washes you can have to keep it bright and beautiful.
I'm actually having sausage and mash for tea tonight ! 😂😋Always tastes better when someone else cooks and serves it though. xxx

What do you put in Mike’s food, he’s like a whirlwind lol. He’s also very clever and handy, you don’t rent him out do you 😂 only kidding but your such a dream team, Cheryl don’t stress about getting your videos out your doing amazing, your kitchen is going to be amazing. If your tiling make sure you have a few ‘extras’ for breakages. I’ve never heard of green custard, I do remember pink custard though. Wow you look fantastic with that colour You both deserve a break, you can always do ‘stuff the next time’. Poor M8ke, we learn by our mistakes I’,m exhausted just listening to Mike, he’s certainly going to have his hands full. Bedroom is looking good. Make sure you have a stiff drink once you know all your costs 😱 Love to you all 💕💕
Hi Lovely, I've no idea how he does it. He said he was bored yesterday so he's back to it today and I think he's going to do the plastering himself on the ceiling 🫤 I'll send him round to yours, he cheap to run, sandwich and a biscuit with plenty of Yorkshire tea! 😂😂 I'm a bit nervous about the tiling but I can take my time with it. Budget is getting tight but hoping it will be worth it. Everything is so expensive ! Hope everything is going ok at your end, hugs!❤️❤️❤️
Wow your home is really taking shape, finances don't go very far do they? My hubby is also very hands on like Mike and to image how much they're skills save us is amazing!
The school I went to also had green, mint custard with the choc square as we called it 😅 wow probably the best part of school dinners!

We have been in the garden with intentions of cutting a tree down, after doing one branch I decided we should get someone in to do it...we are getting a bit past that kind of job now ....... it is too much!!

Hi Lovely, ah I wouldn't tackle the tree either. Mind you, its Holly so I'd need full on space suit 😂😬 Toner is Loreal paris, preference platinum ice. Its quite harsh at the minute as I've only just done it, once its been washed a couple of times it will soften. ❤️❤️❤️
I loved schools dinners and desserts.
Me too, proper food with non of this 'free' of this and can't eat that. Used to eat what we were given and be glad of it. Old fashioned grub 😍😍❤️❤️

Plain concrete, not had that, When I make some I'll do a video of it, will see if I can get a recipe for mint custard too, that'll take me back. Coat try on was soooo much fun. Was nice to get back into some normality xxx❤️❤️❤️
DIY Kitchens are the best , I have had one for 8 years and it just like the day it went in , so pleased you have chosen them Cheryl and Mike great choice , so much better value than anyone else and no comparison there quality is the best , hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine ❤️love to you both , don’t over do things , so pleased you are having a little rest

@ excited for you , they are a fabulous company even send you a box of tea bags and a packet of biscuits, in one of the the boxes , those lovely border-biscuits they give when you visit there fabulous showroom , believe that has now become bigger and better since we got our kitchen . OMG I am literally bowing down to you. ❤️ Its so lovely in my new environment worrying about meeting people I met a retired nurse and a retired dinner lady and I thought how amazing is that - the Mothers that fix Boo Boos and make sure your tum is full !! Dinner ladies dont get the recognition but yet they are the starting point of proper nutrition. I loved school dinners, best part of the day! ❤️❤️❤️

I do feet and inches, want to know the depth of my skirting boards to replace, but it all in mmtrs. What the heck, don't understand it, I'll end up ripping the skirting off and taking to diy. Shop let them sort it 😊x

Cheryl if you’re still thinking of having a spice rack on the wall bear in mind spices should be kept away from the light..preferably in a cupboard. Also, unless you get into cooking in a big way once they’re open they have to be used up fairly quickly or they go off. xx
I'm not a great cook I'm afraid, particularly from scratch but I would like to try to make more effort this year and move away from processed foods. The kitchen is quite dark as the conservatory takes all the light. The rack will have some spices on but mostly condiments and a some little ornaments my Nan gave me 😍xxx

Hi Cheryl and Mike i think Mike is doing a fab job seen as he's been poorly not that Long ago , just thinking out loud did you not want a dinning Kitchen as you have lost a room really , and i would have kept 1 wall of wardrobes in your bedroom other than that its coming together nicely
Hi Pamela, We changed our minds on the kitchen about 15 times 😂 it was mainly because we need a downstairs loo and I didnt want it in the kitchen so decided on a utility with loo and separate kitchen, the conservatory will be where we eat but as there's only us two we don't need much room. There were some other options but our budget won't stretch that far 🫤❤️❤️❤️
I always ask the butcher for 3/4 lbs of mince,he knows what I mean 😊
