    Questions:
    1) Do you consider Ponor's 2016 comeback successful? (Rio Olympics)
    2) Do you prefer Gabby's gymnastics in 2012 or in 2016? (try not to be influenced by results, just the gymnastics)
    Thank you ❤️

      2) i prefer gabby's gymnastics in 2012 because it seems like she was really enjoying herself!

She did deal with a lot of hate, but let’s not forget she brought a bit of it on herself. She did not support the girls initially when they began the campaign to expose the Nasser situation, even verbally attacking them. Eventually she changed her stance and supported them, but that kind of behavior is going to build resentment, and with justification.

@@westley5735 that situation is VERY well known throughout the gymnastics community. Social media was one place she actually said some pretty obnoxious things, and the girls themselves- Aly and Simone in particular- voiced their displeasure at her lack of support to those speaking up about the abuse. Considering she later- literally- APOLOGIZED for her words initially in a later statement I’d say that’s pretty definitive proof of it all. She spoke without thought initially and it brought on some pretty deep resentment from others who were also victims… and I absolutely don’t blame them one bit. Was she a victim herself? Undoubtedly but you can’t sling verbal slaps around and not expect backlash.

I'm still baffled by the weird hate for Gabby Douglas. She was always such a joy to watch- especially on UB! Her releases are a thing of beauty!
Seeing Aly not "just" come back, not "just" make a SECOND Olympic team... But to have upgraded substantially was just awe-inspiring. Now knowing what these ladies were dealing with behind the scenes.... Powerful, focused, unstoppable queens- all of them!💖🖤💖🖤

Gabby brought a lot of the anger from her fellow gymnasts on herself by verbally attacking them for their decision to bring the Nasser situation to light. She later apologized and shared her own story, but you’re going to make a lot of enemies- understandably- with that kind of behavior. There’s a reason why Simone, to this day has very little respect for her.

I really love Gabby. She got so much hate from people online, but also within the gymnastics community. Mykayla Skinner literally retweeted a picture of the final five with herself photoshopped over Gabby. Also, it must have been really difficult to come back to gymnastics after her body changed so much, she had a growth spurt and put on more muscle. She is so strong considering all she went through.

Not defending the actions of Makayla-that’s very childish- but let’s not forget that when the gymnasts began looking at requesting an investigation into the Larry Nascar scandal SHE REACTED VICIOUSLY TOWARDS THEM. Some of the anger from fellow gymnasts was very much justified. She of course later apologized and added her own personal story to it, but that behavior wasn’t excusable.

Didn't Gabby had some leg injuries in 2015 and 2016? Because we heard she was doing Amanar at 2015 Worlds selection camp and then it never translated to competition... And her floor in 2015-16 left me underwhelmed, I missed her 1 1/2+ triple twist and always felt she could do a pretty DLO.
I think BB was already maxed-out in 2012, but her UB definitely got better in 2016, I wish she won the bronze in Rio...
Overall i like the sparkly 2012 Gabby better than the more mature 2016 Gabby, but I feel like people don't realise all the mental/emotional weight she had to carry in her comeback, and she got so much undeserved hate...

I love Gabby, but I'm still very sad that the better gymnast didn't win :(

This was great UNTIL you said Aly's success was "overshadowed" by Simone's success. That's 100% incorrect & saying it took away from the entire video.

Everyone was obsessed with Simone, and rightly so, bc she’s amazing. But it did take attention away from Aly and Gabby
