So hypothetically if I were to transfer 30k Amex points to VG during a 30% bonus and got 1.3 per point. Then transferred from VG to Hilton at 1.5 per point. Then technically with the right properties I could be transferring Amex to Hilton at almost 2cpp which is kinda crazy and would require ofc the bonuses 2 a year and the right redemption but that’s not bad

While moving points from Chase to Virgin would be 10.5x , you have to take into consideration that Hilton points are worth around .5 cents … so in reality you’re under 5.5 cents per points. You’re losing value. I much rather buy the points with the 7% cash back from last quarter and make them .14 … I liked the idea tho, in case there are no 100% buying bonuses . Nice new concept . Keep it up 🤙🏽

I completely agree with you and I discuss doing that and prefer doing that but for points that don't redeem at 1 cent for cash back or if there isn't a sale then it is another option. Like capital one miles and built points don't redeem at cash back very well. Capital one cash back does though.

Is it worth it to transfer points to hilton if a property can cost 100’s of thousand of points per night? A trip to the maldives can cost a million points for a simple weekend…

Agreed, in that case it wouldnt be worth it! But if you do you research you can find plenty of nice properties for a good deal.

@@ThePointsScientist if we could find a hack like that with hyatt that would be a game changer. Hilton points just aren’t valuable enough. Hilton FNC’s are a different story

amex always goes to hilton at 1 to 2 or sometimes more. If you have amex points and want them to go to hilton, the answer is always to just transfer them to hilton. But this video explains how you can get hilton points from other issuers that dont transfer to hilton. You should this when there is a bonus to virgin or when you can buy hilton points on sale for 100 percent bonus. if they are not on sale and there is not a bonus then the 1 to 1.5 is still and a better emergency option then just normal buying them and can be done from almost all issuers.
