Great bike.i had one. Very reliable. Same year. Belt drive but i change it to chain it gains more torque and final speed. Very smooth and confortable on the open road. Lightweight and easy. Lot of spare parts on ebay. I m from nicaragua central america
The 440 ltd was the first bike I ever owned back in 1981. I bought it in Oklahoma at my first duty station. Sure wish I knew where it ended up. I ended up trading it in for a Honda Silverwing 500. I miss the 440 and wish they still made it. I loved that the seat dipped down and sat low and the handle bars swooped down with it. It was my fake lowrider. Lol.
I have one just like it with 9800 miles I love it I just bought it .I had one back in the 80's as my first road bike.then went to goldwings but now that I'm in my 60's this bike is perfect I give $600. For it also
I bought one in 81, had to sell to my Dad cause I was assigned to Germany in 82 and they wouldn’t let me take it. I just got it back from my dad last week. Only 6358 miles on it, looks new. Will be getting her back up to road worthiness and plan on having a blast with it.
My dad has one of these he bought from a coach at the high school he worked for for about nothing. He found a parts one to "Facto-restore" it and it's such a sweetheart bike. Him and mom loved it as it's their go-to bike for the DMV motorcycle rider exam. If you can't pass the rider exam with one of these or a 2022 Honda Trail 125 (My bike btw) then you just can't ride.
They (Kawasaki) had a 750 parallel twin at that time as well. I opted for the KZ inline four 750 in dark blue. It had those cast wheels to. Rode it on dirt as well it was a very nice machine.
I have one. 1980 chain drive, 9500mi, i love it. Got it for like 800$ my buddy built a 3 ft sissy bar for it and I slapped some 85 rebel bars on it turned up because they’re narrower and more comfortable. Suede seat. The mags set it off.
Hi, i am looking for a pick up coil for the same machine. The bike has been imported into the UK for a restoration project and we are struggling to get this part. Do you know any suppliers in the US who stock this part?
Hey guys so I'm about to get an 81 kz 440 ltd. Guy that owns it said it wasn't idling right before he parked it a few years back. He said it didn't really wanna run under 1000rpm but over that it runs just fine. What you guys think? Thanks!
It was a great city bike. Best thing was the snappy gears and belt drive, you could turn left with a fart. I disagree with your praise for the highway though. I live on the Canadian prairies and it was just too light for crosswinds and not big enough to keep up with the big boys. But still a great city bike for an average size guy.
Excuse for my bad english, I are an fanatic of the Z440, but not understand the coloquial english, and lost all commentars of video; on my poor english I wish write the Z440 LTD is fantastic; Rubén de Bs. As. Argentina.
i have a kawi kz440 1982 all original except the tires never been dropped no scratches on the tank or anywhere that i know of and it has 55k km i've had it since 2009 the previous owner had 42k km and i want to know how much it costs but not looking to sell it

My first bike back in the day. Always felt a bit light on the highway. Wanting another one just for old times sake.
I used to have one exactly like that, I wish I had it back beautiful looks and awesome riding.
All your bike a restoration project come out excellent 👍
New rider here. There's a 81 KZ440 on my local craigslist and it's tickling my fancy. This video is helping me make the decision. Thanks !!
did you go buy that KZ440?
@@tommy-time5240 Decided to go another route ... Old bikes are waaaaay too cool though.
I bought this one, built 1983 in 1985. Went from 10.000 ''Km to 86.000 'Km within 5 years on german roads. Always running. Love this engine!
I have an 82 kz440 Ltd looks identical but different handle bars. Has 10k and almost perfect condition. I love it
I have exactly same bike except 57,000 miles. Been all over in it! Hard to start when engine cold. Played with choke alot. Once warm it was great!
Gorgeous!!!! ❤❤❤ I am the lucky owner of one exactly the same - and there is only one word for them: LOVE ❤❤❤
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
I had one. Brilliant bike. Absolutely fantastic little machine.

I just picked one up real mint and clean 81 ltd440 runs great
The first bike I ever owned/rode, also the best, bar none. The crazy thing is I beat out a 1,100 Yamaha in a quarter mile and my claim to fame, LOL.
Sweet. You coulda wrapped a few more RR’s on that demo, though!!
Man, I have one with 2700 miles on it sitting in a storage unit in Idaho
