Thank you! This was a great comparison, your descriptions were very practical. It seems like a key word here is "proportions." Sometimes you don't need the flexiest pen to produce the most elegant writing...

    • @tintanna4793
      @tintanna4793  ปีที่แล้ว

I agree with that statement. You don’t have to get the most flexible pen to make your writing elegant.

Thank you for the comparisons. I just purchased the FPR ultra flex nib to use in my Noodler’s Ahab. I have the Pilot Falcon and a BlueDew, but I’m still struggling with the “sweet spot” on my BlueDew. When I can hit it just right, all is good. When I don’t it’s annoying. It really doesn’t make for a pleasant writing experience. I’m excited to try this FPR nib!
To answer your question: between the Pilot and that FPR nib, you seem to have everything you need in those flex nibs. I also have a vintage Crescent fill Conklin flex nib, and I love it. I’m a history nerd and she just had to be mine. She’s a beauty but she really does write similarly to your Himalaya.

I love my Himalaya FP but I still want to get a vintage flex pen. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully you will love your ultra flex nib. :) let me know how it goes.

I think I write too fast for a flex nib but they are lovely. That pink Darjeeling! 💕

Thanks. Yup with calligraphy you have to write a little slower than normal.

    Found this really helpful .
Can you tell me the names of the inks you used and if you have paper that you recommend .
I am in the UK and am new to this hobby .
And until I get to see how it goes and begin to experiment myself .
    Thank You .

Hi thanks for your feedback. Yup I would recommend any fountain pen friendly paper. Depending on your budget how much you’d like to spend on a notebook, there’s Rhodia pad/notebook. I have not used Clairfontaine but they said it’s also really good. I prefer using the Midori Japanese notebook. Maruman notebook is also good. Life notebook is also another good one and of course any notebook brand that uses Tomoe River paper is good. But between the Midori and Tomoe River paper, I prefer the Midori, it’s thicker with little ghosting and showcases ink properties just as well as Tomoe River paper.
The inks used in this videos are:
      Diamine Golden Honey
      Pilot Iroshizuku Yamabudo
      J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune
      Colorverse Coffee Break
Please my other pen and ink reviews. Thanks for watching! Glad it helped.

How do you compare how easy the Pilot is to flex compared to the Fountain Pen Revo ultra flex please? I dislike the noodler's ahab flex as it requires too much pressure for it to flex. The FPR is fine for me so wondering if the Pilot falcon nibs require more or less pressure.

Are you talking about the Pilot Falcon nib? Or the Pilot Falcon Fountain Pen? The Pilot Custom Heritage with Falcon nib Flexes really well. Effortless, and very similar to a vintage flex. It’s a much pricier pen than the Pilot Falcon soft fine nib. The Pilot Falcon fountain pen is not marketed as a flex pen but it flexes and produces a fine line variation. I’ll say FPR ULTRA FLEX, flexes very well than the Pilot Falcon in this video. But the kind of flex is a bit different. FPR is stainless. It’s springy and bouncy. I use it a LOT, may be a lot more than my Pilot Falcon.
