I remember this comment by someone who said they’d wipe the inside of their windshield side to side and then the outside he’d wipe up and down. So once it got dirty he’d be able to tell if it was the inside or out
You know… I’ve always cleaned my windshield from the drivers side and you’re right. It’s a pain. I never considered trying it from the passenger side. I don’t think I’ve ever sat in my passenger seat. lol. Thanks for the tip man.
@@ClayParrish-t7g that’s funny man! I’m glad this was able to help you, please subscribe as I have many TH-cam shorts that have other great car care tips!
Use different towels with a short pile. I use coating removal towels (flat microfibres with no hairs). Also silk towels work very well on glass and are lint free. Tint suppliers also sell lint free paper towels but they aren’t cheap
Would you consider addressing stubborn interior windshield buildup . I believe its from the plastic on the dashboard breaking down?? I don’t know what’s true but i can’t get it clean or keep it clean
I would recommend you to use a magic eraser for one or two passes before doing the normal window cleaning. Also I recommend you using either the p&s paint prep or carpro cleaner I have linked in the description of this video. The reason why those specific ones is because they contain alcohol and some strong detergents for more serious window cleaning like in the situation you described.
My pleasure. To be honest even though I do this for a living and every day almost, it’s still the hardest part because there’s many variables to consider and weird angles you have to get into lol so don’t feel bad

I don’t have a video, but it would be the same process, just follow the steps from this one and it will work. Main thing for streak free is to do it in the shade not in direct sunlight and have clean towels.
Good question. Yes you could do that if you’re only doing the windshield. However if you are doing all the cars windows inside and out you’ll most likely need two towels because each window you’ll want to use a new side of the towel so there’s no cross contamination
There’s a couple different reasons but yes that’s one of them. A dirty towel that was used to clean something else could also leave streaks, or the direct scorching sun drying the cleaning solution before you can even wipe it off
Tru vue by P&S If you click on the three little dots or “more” and click on “description” I have 3 solutions I recommend including this one. Hope it helps 🤝
This method works really well however a spray bottle with 3 to 4 drops.of dish liquid filled with water and newspaper gives the same exact results. Old newspaper is free and dawn dish soap is cheap. No Need to buy and or repeatedly wash towels.....
Yes that’s how most people used to do it, and if that is better for you then go ahead; but I think it easier to use and mange a towel across a windshield than a newspaper. Also in todays society who has or gets newspaper 🗞️ anymore?
Hard to tell what the exact issue is or how to solve it without seeing it in person, but you can try taking it to the dealer and asking them about it. Or using an interior cleaner to remove it
The problem is the type of towel you’re using. You would need a towel that is woven in a way to not leave lint. If you click on “more” or the three dots on the video and then click on “description” I have two types of towels that are made for window cleaning and won’t leave lint behind.
If you are in the sun you just spray a little more cleaner and work faster because the sun dries out the cleaner and evaporates it if you don’t work it in fast enough pretty much
@@Poppi_Weez yea, so you told the towel into 4 and you switch it for each window, and then you turn it inside out and do the same and that should be more than enough.
@@Mm.2112 no, most tint film applies actually use Dawn soap during their process. A ceramic tint should last you the life of the car, anything less most likely will fail, fade or bubble a few years down the line
@ well you just witnessed me doing it differently and there has never been absolutely any issue. Also you can do a quick search on window cleaning and you’ll open your perspective to realize it’s not a rule but a preference and many professional detailers don’t do it that way.
@@OQDetailing I didn't say it was a rule and the towel you're working with would get saturated with the solution anyways, but sometimes with certain solutions or a bad spray nozzle would leave spots if sprayed directly on the glass. Plus spraying on the towel prevents the solution from getting on places you don't want it to, and yeah it is a preference.
@@siriusthestar1763 if you re-read your first comment carefully you’ll see you did imply that though, “WHATEVER solution you’re doing, NO MATTER what you’re doing, ALWAYS” But yes as you now mentioned it’s a preference, and in many cases I do spray on the towel directly and guide others to do so, but as you saw me do in the video, if you know what you’re doing, you don’t have to do it that way and will achieve a streak free window without any problems. Yes, and the ones used in the video are literally called FTW “For The Windows” but Not everyone has specific glass towels or will want to buy specific glass towels. Also lint will be minimal either way and not really noticeable when actually driving; having dirty streaky windows will be a bigger issue than having some lint.
I guarantee just by watching your technique there were tons of streaks. Don’t worry, I got you guys. Use your left hand while on the drivers side. Use your right hand while on the passenger. Ensure you have two rags folded perfectly into squares. Any bunched up spots in the rag will be inclined to leave streaks. You want to have the rag contact area be perfectly flat. Spray the RAG, never the window. Less is more. One to two sprays, from a distance. Personally I use a rinseless wash solution in a spray bottle. Initial wipe with the damp side. Follow up with the dry. If you feel any areas where there is a lot of drag, you’ve found a dirty area (which is what causes streaks). For extremely dirty windows or windows with film, use an alcohol solution (sprayway window cleaner works fantastic). Do not use alcohol products on tint. Happy details guys.
