- Patrick Clark (@patrickjr) is a professional wrestler known for his time in WWE from 2015-2021 where he performed under the ring name Velveteen Dream in NXT. He sits down with Chris Van Vliet in Los Angeles, CA for his first interview since being released from WWE and opens up about the apology video he posted on January 2, the allegations made against him in 2020, being labeled as a "pedophile" and "groomer", his arrests in 2022, spending time in jail, whether he wants to wrestle again and more.

Josh fuller literally said velveteen dream didn't make advances to him so obviously they tried to set this man up.
Facts mate it's all cancel culture that we believe every claim of sa or anything like that
Tbf it mosre the community than WWE at that point. People just believed the allegations. Even later when they didnt even remember what they were, they just decided he was guilty.
It's honestly so easy to set up a fake celebrity or influencer account and make them out to be a creep
I feel so awful for what happened to him. I knew there was something fishy about the situation. Dream seems like a very kind and genuine dude who got a bad shake by a bunch of goofies. I think he should get another chance.
Bruh they definitely set the man up. That’s insane
I love that Chris is giving Patrick a chance to tell his side of the story. Much respect.
a REAL wrestling journalist. Chris Van Vliet, everybody. 👏
His character was so refreshing. It sucks we lost years of a great thing he was the talk. Maybe just maybe 🤔 Goodluck to him.
Yeah, i'm still Waiting for the James Ellsworth interview... But Chris chose to not upload it.
@@HaraldSilvaOficial There's a possibility that it was NOT Chris's choice. Every interview has more than one side and each side has a say in the who, what, where, when, why, and how!

"I apologize for allowing the mess in my life to create a mess in yours" if only everyone thought this way, the world would be a lot nicer. Amazing interview, Patrick is such an intelligent person and said some things I can relate to being the same age as him myself, I hope life treats him better going forward!
Also fuck cancel culture.

How would you feel if a social club your kid went to has someone working for them with "numerous" allegations? Bet you wouldn't be asking for due processing... You would be saying " why you letting someone with allegations against them work here?" . Notice how people who hate cancel culture denounce gay and trans people and even teachers as groomers with zero evidence.

Chris is a real one for this interview. Asked what needed to be asked, and let him talk and give his side of things. Whether you believe the man or not, that's on you. But no matter what situation it is, everyone deserves to at the very least have their side spoken.
I agree 💯 %.
Yo it's fucking RGT!!!
Not to mention that he didn't show any bias either for or against Patrick here. It was extremely important for him to stay neutral, and he did a great job at that.
I echo the sentiment of giving second chances, but I also wanna say protect Chris at all costs, this man is the epitome of professionalism and we need more people like him in the business and the world overall. I'm grateful for your job, passion and integrity.
This interview is not about Chris. Have some respect for The Velveteen Dream
@@Nu2Morrow I literally said that I echoed the sentiment, as in literally everybody in the comments are saying what I think about the Dream, so why being another copy paste of them?

The accusations may be false, but let this be a lesson to anyone who wants to come on tv and portray inappropriate characters. All it will do is invite people to believe you're a groomer. If you're not a groomer then don't act like one on tv.

I was with her for 10yrs the only thing that happened was she got on drugs, and i broke up with because her because she wouldn't get help. I lost so much because of one lie. As someone who has been accused of false accusations and rumors that I was a Groomer and a Pedophile that shit fucking sucks and it hurts what hurts the most is when people that you trusted would believe that you would do something like that
Bro hug. Me too. This girl I liked accused me after I picked up her baby son and gave him a hug... in a room full of other people. She made the allegations on her Facebook, after blocking me from her wall, so I couldn't defend myself. People immediately believed her and called her 'brave' for 'exposing' me, even though there was no proof at all I had done something wrong. It was a nightmare and I cried my share of tears over it.
Later it turned out she had some mental problems and said more goofy stuff and made things up. Do you know how many of the people that were quick to judge me reached out to me after that and apologized?
No one.
@@PdZ2012that’s terrible! I’m so sorry you dealt with that. Some people are extremely evil and unfortunately people are so quick to believe it because it’s such a sick and grave accusation.
One of my former friends tried to accuse me of being a p e d o just because I dated someone a year younger than me when I was 18, yet there was no inappropriate activity being done and I literally have prove of her willingly being friends with people who have been transphobic, homophobic, and friends with a person who still is associated with another p e d o that came onto two of the minors in our friend group. Not only that but she’s just a bad and fake friend in general. I guess she decided to accuse me because I was the main one to check her. Thankfully, it didn’t ruin my reputation. The only people she told were people who already had an issue with me and of course they believed it lol.
A girl in my school tried to destroy my reputation when she and her father got a restraining order on me for something I didn’t do but turns out no one liked her but I was high in social status during the time so it didn’t do nothing but make her the weird one
I can only imagine how terrible it would be to be in that situation. The worst part about false allegations is that even if it's brought to trial & you are proven completely innocent the public will always remember that there was a question..so many people will hear false & just instantly believe it & not even acknowledge being proven innocent no matter how obvious the accuser's motivations are. MJ is the perfect example of that & it's terrible for anyone to have to go through it. I'm very sorry this happened to you & to anyone else who has been falsely accused. Maybe people who falsely accuse others (& are found to be straight up lying with maliciously intentions) should be punished equally for the crimes they are accusing the innocent of..or something like that because the accused have to live with it the rest of their lives & I feel like that would drastically cut down false allegations (like the whole JD vs AH situation)
The saddest part of false accusations is not only innocent people having their reputations destroyed, which is already bad, but also when this trend stops (if it ever does) because of many people crying wolf, the ones who will take the hardest hit will be the ones whose accusations are legitimate. Those who suffer from harassment and further, the ones who need to be heard the most will be the first in line to be ignored and vilified because of a bunch of idiots trivializing the seriousness of such words.
I can't believe this interview hasn't been the talk of the town in wrestling. If he's really on the up-and-up here, this makes me want to cry. I remember Velveteen Dream. He was a true top prospect in WWE, and amazing on the mic. A one-of-a-kind personality. When I heard the allegations, it hurt. It hurts even more to even think that he was the victim in that particular situation. And to hear that Velveteen Dream has a headstone now... Wrestling needs him back in a bigger and better capacity.
It isn't because people and social media accounts intentionally posted nothing from it. It's the head in sand approach.
Wtf is wrong with you types I can tell just by the way you wrote you believed the allegations originally and probably helped the hate
Same with enzo. Zero vindication
We’ve been waiting 3 years for this interview. I’m glad you did it, the fans needed this. Patrick came with the RECIEPTS!
The dude compared himself to Sandusky, lol. His "receipts" are very weak and he's being every self absorbed here still. Not seeing anything that makes him look good in this interview.
@thegentlemanphantom1040 because you wanna believe he's guilty. The receipts show he's innocent of all that he was accused of. If you just don't like the guy or what he was accused of just say that.
@@quadryjohnson2099 why would I want to believe? There's no bias to be had. There was simply nothing presented and he rambled on about nothing, like wwe2k not using the word "groom" lol. You're jumping to conclusions as if I wasn't a fan. The receipts were just weak. He said the kid was "jealous", that was basically it. That's and repeating favorable parts from the screenshots are not "receipts".
You don't admit to feeling "baited" (as he put it himself), then continue to talk to the kid. There were a dozen red flags in that interview. He admitted to more than he disproved. Wtf were you even listening to? You couldn't name a legit "receipt" thar cleared him. You're just thoughtlessly repeating him.
Lmao then you went in believing everything against him and assuming hes what hes accused of. He clearly proved his innocence. @thegentlemanphantom1040
@@KyleFromSouthPark1995 I pinpointed some of the key issues from this response and why it's not even disproving anything or doing the exact opposite. All you've giving me are emotional reactions parroting the same meaningless buzzwords he gave without explaining what "receipts" he actually came with.
You're either a fanatic that can't detach the character from the person or one of these weirdo "cancel culture" seekers. Either way, you're the only one on this convo that WANTS to believe something. I'm just going off how awful & incoherent his response is here.
Thank you Chris for giving Patrick the chance to tell his side. It warms my heart to see him doing well and see him in a good place!

I never watched the product on tv at the time but i saw a show in person and became a fan immediately. Really good time for wrestling. In 2019 I remember Velveteen Dream was taking over the world.

This not the normal conversation interview that Chris always had, this is man to man helping one to reflect on himself and help clear his name. Shout out to Chris standing up to help Patrick
Chris is the epitome of what people should strive for in the interview world. Super happy we have him in the wrestling world
I'm legit happy Chris interviewed Velveteen Dream and gave him a chance to speak his side of the story. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Every single one of us have allowed people to get far too close to us than they had any right to be and we got hurt, abused/taken advantaged of physically, mentally, spiritually or emotionally because of it and had our lives changed for the worse to varying degrees. That little bit of friendliness, being cordial, giving someone a chance, being naive etc can be literally turned against you so quick, so fast and your life is forever changed off of one moment where your defenses were down. As a country and morally as individual human beings, we should be innocent until proven guilty. In this day and age, a lot of people can spread allegations, rumors, etc on your name without you even knowing and until Velveteen/Patrick gets convicted to the full extent of the law with undeniable proof, then I can't in good conscience crucify this man as if he did those things because at the end of the day, WE WERE NOT THERE. This man even brought receipts with him in the interview and his proof looks legit.
Me personally, I hope Patrick Clark comes back to the wrestling business and even comes back to the WWE sooner rather than later. You can feel the pure pain, his heartbreak even in his pauses while speaking at this man losing his dream, his life's work and his passion.
💯. I agree. More people need to think like you. But the internet is a nasty place filled with people who pretend to be perfect
Very well put, all we can do is learn and find out who we can trust in this world, your real friends will stand by you regardless of your situation, the people who choose to try to destroy other peoples lives because they were not able to achieve what they wanted in life, I don't think they ever find true happiness regardless of how many lives they try to ruin. I hope Patrick is able to get his life back on track and most importantly be happy and proud of his achievements
You seem like a decent and honest person, I wish you all the best as well
he still hasnt given Jaxson Ryker another chance though
There is literally audio of him asking a kid what school they go to.

This interview was needed. As a fan I had so many questions about the “dreams” career. This is really inspiring how he’s been through such a horrible narrative and completely one sided backlash and didn’t know how to take so they took advantage of it. I’m really happy to see he is in such a better place, I hope we all can take something from this.
Before these comments get out hand, I just want to say thank you Chris.

Props to Chris for being unbiased & open to interview anyone. No matter what people think about this. It is good to interview dream and get his side to everything considering everyone jumped to conclusions . By the looks of the intro it seems dream was framed. Not sure

If Clark is innocent, I still hold my doubts but this is a clear message to anyone how dangerous social media is and what not to do.
Of course he's innocent, AI is another thing that fools people. Make one person say something else, even if it's a video of their face talking, copies their voice.

I agree. The people here saying they still think he's lying or whatever are just looking for reason to keep believing a lie. Pathetic really.
Just finished this whole interview. Thank you, Chris, for giving Patrick a chance to tell his side of the story. You are a true professional.
What ever it may be that anyone believes, it is always important to remember that we all go through tough times. Those tough times can lead us down some dark paths. There are also people in the world that enjoy putting others through misery. It's unfortunate.
I'm happy that he said what he felt he needed to say, and I genuinely hope he feels relieved for having all of that weight off of his back. Whether he is in the right or the wrong, it's good to see that he is seemingly doing much better in his life right now.
In this video you can see how good Chris really is, that was one of the most professional and to the point interviews I've ever seen. About Clark, I can feel the truth in his words, I'm 32 now and I'm starting to understand what life really is, and I know how it feels to get older and finally see how stupid and clueless I was on my 20's. That's the magic, learning with the past and keep moving forward to a better future.
Thank you Chris and Patrick for a great interview. Rooting for you to get back out into the ring and entertain us like you always did.
Reminds me of when the guy that created Screen Junkies got accused of sexual harassment. Same thing, he disappeared because he was canceled and three years later he came with receipts about what really happened. He was never charged or arrested and called out all the people that turned on him.
Reminded me of ProJared being canceled for I think half a year, all ties cut from everyone he worked with, then he pops back up with every receipt in the book to show the only thing he was guilty of was getting action while in an open marriage while his wife wasn't, and liking Sailor Mercury's outfit a little too much, to the point of wearing it while sending racy photos to adults that request said racy photos.
This was a fantastic interview. Chris has got a special talent to relax people. Would absolutely love to see velveteen dream back in WWE one day
14:36 This is not the first time this happens. Fake accounts pop-up, tell stories to incriminate a celebrity then vanish.
That's exactly what happened to the youtuber ProJared a few years ago (around the same timeframe) and it was all proven and admitted as fake by the minors who doctored it.
It's super easy to incriminate men and it's becoming clearer that Clark is innocent.
I think I agree. I really hope he can clear his name and come back
I really think it needs to be recognized how much of an asset and a positive influence that CVV has turned into for the online wrestling fan base. In what other capacity would someone like Patrick be able to speak on his side of his story in this manner. Even the comments section here have a more level headed and accepting atmosphere because that is what has been cultivated by Chris in his interviews. It’s great to see in a typically much more contentious and polarized fan base.
And CVV didn't really try to trap him at any point. He asked questions, let him speak, and asked more questions without being aggressive or coming at it trying to get a specific story.
I just made my own comment earlier that if he would've went to any other wrestling platform, they would've dogged him out more, called him a pervert and ruined him. I like what Chris is doing, we need more channels to do more of this for the wrestling community instead of everyone being a dirt sheet and speculating.
Thanks for this interview!!!! ✨✨✨ We love you Velveteen Dream!!

First off, thanks to Chris for taking and handling this very professionally and unbiased.
Second, if there's no arrests made or investigations have been made and no evidence were found, then he's innocent. No convictions, no history related to the allegations. The man deserves a 2nd chance. These people alleging the accusations can just choose to gang up and try to manipulate their conversations with Patrick.
Third, accuser already said "Patrick was never directly sexual to him".
Funny thing ik the accuser Josh Fuller he's my trainer and he's wrestled for DPW and CZW
Also when he was saying how Patrick "should not be successful". That was a major confirmation that he just wanted him to be dropped.
That line right there. That line right there should shut a LOT of shxt down, but we know how CC works. I've BEEN rocking w/ Mr Clark since all this happened and NOW I rock w/him even MORE. All I've wanted since this all went down is for him to get on a platform to tell his story. FINALLY, Chris Van Vliet decides to be gracious enough to provide that platform necessary. MAJOR props to him, Patrick, and ALL involved to put this together.
@@DZADangerousExactly! You talmbout wanting someone to lose they JOB instead of their FREEDOM behind something you just said wasn't true? Just told on yourself right then. #DreamAintDeadYet💜
@@DZADangerous Thanks for bringing that line up! Definitely more people should see the red flags made by the accusers. I do think he's innocent and should be allowed to come back to the wrestling industry. If he messes up again, then that's that. But without any arrests related to grooming or sexual harassment, I'll want to see the Velveteen Dream back in the fold.
This is why Chris has the best podcast in wrestling. Regardless of who he interviews, he makes each interview comfortable and safe for everyone. Thank you Chris
Respect to Chris for giving Patrick a platform to tell his story.
Wasn’t expecting this interview but I’m glad it happened because I didn’t know much about what had happened before but I know more
Get him back. It's over now. Apology accepted. The past is the past. Let's start over & make new memories
only if the world was this mature. we live in a world where people are offended by things that have nothing to do with them based off word of mouth and not fact
Dude if he was noncing then absolutely do fucking not bring him back lmfao
@@Jellybob69You’re the problem
@@Jellybob69these comments are fucked mate I'm with ya lol
@@Jellybob69 Keyword is If. How can you truly verify when someone claims "he did this"? Everyone can do it to harm others, and many did. Because it works.
Love this interview, you can see the growth from him and the problems he facing during those years completely made him better.
The internet is a dangerous place. It suck that all someone has to do is say it, and it automatically becomes truth.
Really good interview. Big ups for giving Patrick this opportunity.
Very well done. I can see this one being BIG...everyone will wanna check this out.
Respect to Chris and Patrick.
Good people learn from their mistakes and heal and grow, we've watched both these guys grow into more awesome versions of themselves.
Both these guys are great examples for other dudes to look to.
Always read the fine print.
Bravo.
Wow Chris. I am impressed that you stepped into an interview like this. Quite a challenge and different then what you have done before. People are going to crap on you for not doing research or pushing back on his story and just letting Patrick talk but don't worry about them. I am impressed by Patrick's receipts and his stories add up and sound reasonable. I do like how he owns up to his mistakes and has clearly put some time into what happened and what he could have done better.
I agree, if he woulda went to 9ne of these wrestling podcasts that act like dirt sheets they would've dogged, him tried to destroy him, and called him a liar.
This was a really great interview to watch. Excellent work on this Chris and was great to hear Patrick’s side of the story!
Outstanding job on this interview Chris 👏🏽
I didn't expect to get this interview. But I'm here for it!
Incredibly brave to do this interview and it turned out pretty well. You did a good job pushing back and even agreeing on things when appropriate. This doesn't come across like a PR bit by Patrick, or a views grabber from Chris. Very balanced and masterfully done.
This was a beautiful interview man I always appreciated his talents it was sad how things ended for him but I'm glad he's in a better place in life
This is the most serious Chris I've seen in a video
Yup, and a straight-no chaser type of interview. Plus it was really quiet, but only hearing those two.
Some of this does sound dodgy, but like he said, he's never been charged or convicted of anything.
Unfortunately, allegations have become an automatic conviction of guilt in the court of public opinion.
"Have become" is nonsense, they always have been. You mugs only complain about it when the accused is famous.
It sounds like that because he still have to be careful about what he says in case someone uses his words against him. Can’t blame him
Nah this guy is sketchy !! What he is not telling you is 16 is the legal age in Canada. So he definitely took advantage of that. It might be legal but it's still sketchy. And why would it take him 5 years to come out ? In my opinion that is just time to fabricate his story. This guy is a didler !
@d.almeida3633 first off the accuser was 19 and the sketchy dms weren't true, and 2nd, you can't smell diddler so you lose speaking privileges
@@d.almeida3633 If he did it he should be in jail no?
Oh snap. long awaited, saw his statements recently. CVV with the legitmate journalism
Honestly glad to hear Patrick has gone through some steps and has held himself accountable. Shout out to Chris for offering him a platform to clear his name
Wonderful, revealing Honest an interesting interview. Like we said before no one pulls this off, but Chris.
Here’s hoping that Patrick Clark gets another chance to be on a grand stage
Thank you for doing this interview Chris. That's why you're the best in the business
I love hearing conversations and this was a great listen, I learnt a lot about Patrick Clark.
I was super disappointed when the original allegations were spread. Everybody in my friend group, including myself, were big supporters of Velveteen Dream. We loved how good he was in the ring and how much potential he had. With the allegations, we were upset, disappointed, angry even. Flowers for Chris for being able to put this interview together.
It's truly eye opening to finally hear his side of the story. Hearing of everything that has happened from his pov. It's a gut check that reminds you that we are all human. It really does make you think and appreciate the good things that happen. I just know that after this interview, if he appears on my screen on a WWE show again, even if it isn't as VD, I'll pop for it. I love how happy he seems even after the brutal beating life gave him.
wtf

I think this interview was great it’s awesome to see Patrick speak out and to me this whole interview and apology was heartfelt and sincere
Wow. Never Thought Chris Van Vliet Would Interview This Kind Of Figure In Wrestling lol. All Praise To CVV For Being Unbiased And Open.
Well he did interviewed Hulk Hogan not too long ago...
what’s funny?
Why is every letter capitalized
What does "Kind of figure" mean? It's easy to end ones career with the click of a button without doing any research whatsoever, were truly living in some very shitty times.
Thnx Chris and Patrick I'm glad the world got to finally hear this ❤👊🏼👊🏿👊🏻
Chris is a real one for let him explain what happened
I know this can be a stretch to some people but I really hope WWE sees this interview and gives Patrick another chance. Patrick is actually from the same county as me, and I can see he is being 100% honest. We're also around the same age, so I get how all that he has experienced cannot be easy mentally. He is also taking accountability of his mistakes. He's very talented and I honestly think he deserves another chance at NXT.
Wwe is not stupid enough like that to listen to someone luying for an hour
While I knew of VT, via highlight clips through friends, I wasn't really familiar with him, but I knew he was on the verge of being the next big main roster come up.I'm 10 minutes in learning all this info, as I didn't realize he disappeared. Props for him at least trying to give his side. He seems very content with his life.
John Cena even said he was the chosen one
This is one of my favorite interviews so far!!! Keep it up Chris. God bless.
Man this was a really interesting interview. Good job chris
This interview was painful. But it takes A LOT to still move past something like this and still have faith and I didn’t know much about Patrick’s story and what happened but it’s good he got to tell his side and it sucks he lost what he has due to someone’s social media post to which he hasn’t been charged for. The fact that speculation can ruin a man’s career is terrible. I’m glad he’s still on the positive side about it because I know I’m not that strong and I’d be filing all types of lawsuits for ruining my name and I’d be really depressed after an accusation like that. Great interview though and it was thorough as well.
Tbh, I wish he would've filed them suits. Still kinda do. This man's livelihood was ripped away from him behind this shxt, and even though he has his supporters, it's still gon take one day @ a time. I'm rooting 4him.
