I've made that trip many times with my children and friends, would always do the 10 in one day. But next time we gonna take two or three days and explore the banks, cliffs and waterfalls more. Good video, It gave me the canoeing the Sipsey fever, again.
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s my favorite place to explore, more so in the winter. There’s a ton of waterfalls to find, at least half a dozen I didn’t put in the video because I want to revisit and take better footage. The stretch between the put in spot and the Davis Creek junction is very rich with falls.

I have a sundolphin excursion 10 that I took on this, and have taken through other class 1 and 2 rapids. A sit on top with sups might be better as you can take on a little water. The excursions are quite stable and I’ve never flipped one, which is pretty much why I bought it.

If you haven’t, join the “Friends of Sipsey Wilderness” group on Facebook and inquire there. They’re a large group. If they don’t know someone then someone might be willing to shuttle y’all .

Sipsey River Picnic Area on Cranal Road in Bankhead. There's two parking areas, cross the old wooden bridge, gets you close to the water.

Great video! Any idea what the water level was when you did it or what time of year?
This was late April…. Water level was around 3.5ft if I remember right? Low in spots at that point but never drug.
Can you share where the old stone bridge remnants are located?
It's been so long since I've seen them I'll have to see if I can actually remember where we pulled off. Only visited it once unfortunately.

Put in at sipsey wilderness picnic area below the bridge, then take out on hwy 33 have fun and be safe and take a buddy always
Myself and some friends are planning a kayak camping tree down there this spring. How far down did you guys go before you camped?
We went about 5 miles or so if I remember right. Lots of places to pull off and camp though.

This was in early May.
We want to do the sypsy river is there a outfitter we can call up there to find out more
I don’t know of any outfitter that does trips on Sipsey unfortunately.
@@weathermansam so I would have to bring 2 vehicles one drop off one pick up we live 5 hours away so trying to make a plan for future looks awesome

Great video, but where do you take out? I only know of the take-out at 33.
jrrrrrr we ended up taking out on private land by accident. There’s a take out at Grindstone Creek.
How far past 33 are those two waterfalls at the end?
