Good day to you. This is Ted from Texas. My father was a tail gunner in the B-25. He told me lots of stories about what happened. When he went to his Island he flew down in a b-25j model. When they got there they took it away from them and gave them one of the very early model B25. It did not even have a tail gun in it . They had to take the plane to the motor pool and cut off the tail gun and insert a 50 caliber single flexible machine gun in it for him. There was no canopy there was nothing but air. If he had a bail out he would pull the cotter pin that release the 50 caliber push it out the back and jump out the back of the plane. When he came home from the war he brought the clock from his plane back with him. The plane ended up getting jumped on the island and staying there. I think the island he was on was Okinawa. I have lots of photos of him there and lots of memorabilia from his time in the war. Thank you for the video

Wow! Amazing! We're honored that your father served and we all owe that generation a huge debt of gratitude. We had no idea of the true sacrifice those airmen gave to fly around in one of these. We got to crawl around inside front tip to tail and couldn't believe how small they were and how exposed those airmen were. Here's to the Greatest Generation! God Bless America! Thanks for sharing.
