This video will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve watched it many times in the last 10 years of my life. Bill was my role model growing up. And this video perfectly encapsulates him
I love the switch in music here, it's all these bag pipes, and then he rips off his cape, and goes to tear that shit up with his home town music playing lol.
The strongest man to ever walk the face of the Earth they say was zydrunas savickas. He competed in the world Strongest Man 21 times why the World's Strongest Man four times and placed anywhere between 1 and 4 all of the other ones
Yea Big Z is probably the strongest ever. Kaz would have had a lot more wins in words strongest man but they didn't let him compete for a while after he won it 3 yrs in a row 80,81,82. Who knows how many more he would have won.
Imagine the lifts he would have been doing if he had the resources these modern guys have? He was a league above the competition for his time and likely would have been quite competitive in todays world.
The hardest event of all this is probably the Battery Hold. Anyone can move a semi truck or toss kegs around, but try holding a car battery out at arms' length and see how long you last.
Nick Fury: *clap* *clap* *clap*. You're a big guy, and strong. But are you ready to be strong, to save the world? Strongest man who ever lived for avengers 2. Make it happen marvel.
fact is, to pull a truck for that long, around 30 seconds, requires a lot of anaerobic fitness and flexibility too, it is test of strength sure, but it has to be sustained for a certain amount of time. It`s like a 300 yard race...that kind of fitness. So, you know, let the guy come 2nd in a couple of events. He was awesomely strong. Like a bull.
@4inches4u I couldn't find the video of the back-press itself here on youtube anymore. All I can find is the tribute video to Paul which lists it as a current world record. There is also a post from someone who remembers Paul coming to his high school while growing up and back-pressing the ENTIRE senior football team on a customized bench. You Tube won't let me link the tribute video here, so you will have to search: "Paul Anderson Tribute" Take care!
In the winter, a dark-haired Viking. In the summer a Sicilian mobster. I'm American...many nationalities had a hand in my make-up. By the way, the first partial song is "Scotland the Brave"
He did a 960 lbs squat with relative ease in this video. The modern squat WSM competition is seven reps and only goes up 800 lbs. I think Kaz would hold his own with modern strongmen easily. I'm not saying he would win, be certainly seems to have had the strength in his prime. Like he says, it usually comes down to how bad the competitor wants it.
altho i say this because i grew up watching pudzianowski, guys who seen on in the 80s would disargee with me, would have been something else to have seen bill live at 1 of these events in his prime
@actionmanrandell That's because the only "valid" deadlift is the one with powerlifting rules. He actually lifted more than that, but they not used dumbbels as the weights. They used wheels or boxes full of something heavy, and in that lifts, the bar stands a lot higher than in a regular deadlift, so the range of motion is smaller, making the lift easier.
Stop bitching about how Kaz would do in a modern competition. The fact is what Kaz achieved in Strongmen is similar to what Arnold did for bodybuilding - put it on the map, leaving people in awe. Most if not all strongmen acknowledge that. P.S. Don't compared 100m sprint records of 2013 to that of 1900, that will only make YOU look silly.
@tokagekobushi I think there is a lot to that really. He was into mental preparation big time. I have been watching him and Karlsen and I got really motivated and suddenly I was able to get so pissed off, and just know I was the strongest man in the world, and I added 100 pounds to my benchpress in 3 months, and now I bench 300 lbs, and squat almost 400 lbs, and started deadlifting for the first time and I got to 300 in a week or two. That mental stuff really works.
@PSG1Casual but i thought slow-twitch fibers could not grow any bigger/stronger??? Fast-twitch fibers can, and type II A is the only one with endurance...
many events in WSM do not need endurance. if u ever watch WSM there are acouple of competitors that look like they "rolled" to the competition not walked , they surely know that they dont have a chance in the endurence challenges.
@MrStryker777 I don't think you could easily piss the guy off. He is one of the nicest people around. My friend met him just walking around Portland Maine. Gave her an autograph.
You don't need steroids to get that big and strong. I knew brothers in the seventh grade with bodies like that and they were just simple country folk, who lived on a farm, slaughtered all their own livestock, milked, etc.. They were all natural. They were the only 2 kids in 7th grade that could grow full beards and made the other boys jealous. The girls dug it though. We nicknamed them Ug and Og. Og was the math wiz, and Ug was epileptic because drunk Uncle dropped him on porch when a baby.
Bill is a lagend, but by far the strongest who ever lived, i think that goes to Benedikt, zyderuna and Magnus ver magnusson. And ofc the greates Jon Pall
they wouldn't be able to do the things they can do now without the men of the past. If the men in the past were born later they would have the advantage. Events like the truck pull w/o a pull rope are brutal and could rupture or tear achilles tendons are a regular basis. The steel bar bend could and has torn more pectoral muscles several times, in fact it wasn't uncommon back then.
Its like, one day when he was 15, he said to himself, "You know, im gonna go beastmode today, see what happens." And he never came out of it.
I truly think he is the strongest man that ever lived. If he had access to modern day concepts there would be no contest!
This video will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve watched it many times in the last 10 years of my life. Bill was my role model growing up. And this video perfectly encapsulates him
Thank you so much!
Kaz is the real deal! Raw strength back then!
this man is a beast.
I'm gonna be a beast too 🧲
Perfect!!! I love Bill !! I remember watching him when I was a boy... We finally got cable Tv☝️💯🤎💪💪💪
bill is a legend
MR. INCREDIBLE!!!!
Miss incredible
Rajae 🧲
I was born in 1981. he much be old now but wish he the best.
Without question he would’ve been the first man to bench press 700 pounds raw in competition had he not tore his pec.
Now I know where they got the design for Mr. Incredible from. The great Big Kaz.
When you see Bill lift heavy stuff. It allways looks like he can lift much more
yeah... like he took this little peace of wood like it´s nothing
A legend, always enjoyed by all except his competition
I love the switch in music here, it's all these bag pipes, and then he rips off his cape, and goes to tear that shit up with his home town music playing lol.
so much time for this guy!
Savickas-Pudzianoski-Bill kaz....but i'm a fan....Bill is the number one....for me

Sweet vid. Nice soundtrack. That keg load looked exhausting.
Just think, when you're lifting heavy and want to quit, you say "I can't"...Ole Bill says "I can". Definition of a champion.
The hardest event of all this is probably the Battery Hold. Anyone can move a semi truck or toss kegs around, but try holding a car battery out at arms' length and see how long you last.
I love it how when the video starts the song 'Scotland the Brave' is identified by youtube as 'Sweet Home Alabama'
Wow all that takes some strength and some Stamina Bill Kazmaier is Biggest Bad Ass of all time!!
That kinda strength demonstration impresses me more than even powerlifting (which I think is cool).
Bill Kazmier is one of the strongest humans who ever lived.
Big Bill in his prime was un...beatable.
Bill - a real world idol
Nick Fury: *clap* *clap* *clap*. You're a big guy, and strong. But are you ready to be strong, to save the world?

DAMN this guys strong!
I'm gonna be stronger and the strongest woman ever excited in the universe 🧲
If anyone is wondering why he sometimes cries before is starts is because it hurts so fucking much to lift so much.

It seems everytime he does a "max" lift
Hes face is saying
I can lift more weight
altho i say this because i grew up watching pudzianowski, guys who seen on in the 80s would disargee with me, would have been something else to have seen bill live at 1 of these events in his prime
Man,he is huge... His biceps are as bigger than my head:D
The look in this guys eyes is way beyond "The zone," Chuck Norris would tremble!
Im not taking enything away from kaz, but strongmen today is a lot stronger than the ones in the past.

Kazzzzz for sure!
I'd love to see Bill in his prime go up against Mariusz in his prime
He announces the current worlds strongest man comp now, jus in case u guys didnt know
I'd like to know what his max of Bench, Squat, and Cleans is.
if you look at ronnie Coleman's Videos while he's training for Mr.Olimpia, He Does 800 Lbs-Squat, and 2300 Lbs Leg Press..

The Incredible, thats who he looks like!

Nothing to take away from strongmen today. But Kaz and his peers had harder events.
impressive
what is the song at the beginning?`before the sweet home alabama
I feel like a wimp now after watching this even though im stronger then all my friends... i love the triple dot...--...
I have a better question...why isn't Anderson in any of these related videos?
So true.
These men are legends but personally I'd rather compete in beer and wine drinking or steak eating contests
totally dude, i was thinking the same thing!
the song is "Lynyrd Skynyrd-sweet home alabama"
who ever lived? i'm right here guys..
Thanks SwampFox. I would like to do a video that's much more quick-hitting like the one you are describing. I'll see how much free time i have...
I wonder if he could punch...

sergeant hartman; let me see your war face!
3:10
sergeant hartman; Now that's a war face!
good point
yeah True but this was in 1981...
Kaz is/was great but jon-paul will always be the man in my opinion.
I do. Just curiosity.
"Mr, my truck broke down, help! Dont worry son" then he takes out a rope and pulls it to the mechanic
His focus is scary

Where was Jón Páll ?
Wasn’t he also injured for most of these events shown ? #Legend
Chiefly the bar bending.
Mariusz Pudzianowski is the strongest man alive , and there is no doubt about that.......
@R2kRulle you are probably right but i dont consider it as a possibility
@MrStryker777 I don't think you could easily piss the guy off. He is one of the nicest people around. My friend met him just walking around Portland Maine. Gave her an autograph.
