You see a lot for sale because most people lease for 2 years. I purchased my 2022 G80 6MT. Built to my exact specifications. Absolutely AMAZING! I’m not chasing HP or AWD. Car is an absolute blast to drive. Car is 100% stock.
The G80 M3 is the most under priced car for what you’re getting. Stock for stock, it’s slightly faster than the GTR, has a nicer interior, and it’s $20,000 less. The RS5 is badass as well, but it’s much harder to modified and pull power out if it.
@@sundeepm3 Valid point; still 20% take rate for manual M3 is impressive. They’ll probably hold their value more in the long term once BMW kills them with next gen electrified M3.
I had the same problem it with my G80... It just ended up being about getting from Point A to B so I bit the bullet and bought an e46 M3.. Never regretted it moving forward
Social media and most people trying to gain clout and be famous/influencer is one of the reasons people sell the car because they use the build for content and build the car quick in order to sell merch and then when they milked it for all they can, they sell the car and on to the next, nothing entirely wrong with that but it is an observation.
Some people want out since payments+insurance premiums are heavy on their pockets. Most people with G80’s mod them right away. Car gets boring after a while. Doing pulls is all they do. Most G80 owners are like Jeep owners. They barely use the vehicle for its purpose. Most G80 owners will not track this car.
I loved the g80 m3 but I got tired of it attracting young punks always revving next to you and cutting you off egging you on to race. Sold mines for a g90 m5. More mature car. And the m3 is clapped too many out on the road now. I hate that. I like when it was more exclusive.
Yeah the demographic has changed to younger people more recently. It has become pretty common now after 5 years, lot of people changing to the M2 as well G90 M5 is nice, luxury performance!
Someone clearly hasn't seen the car market recently. A manual transmission adds an extra $5k-$10k to a car's value. Dont believe me? Go look at E92 M3 prices right now.
You can’t compare the E92 vs. G80. Totally different markets, go look at what RWD manuals are going for vs. xDrive auto. Maybe down the road this might change, but I’m talking about now
Just went from a 2024 M3 Touring to a 2025 M3 Touring LCI, for me there is no better car. You can take the whole family on vacation one weekend, and the next weekend you can take the child seat out and go to the race track and hammer it.
Like i said, 2022 G8X xDrive is the best one to get. Just get one used and go on about your day. It’s literally BMWs best performance platform. No model year makes more sense than the 2022 unless you want a touring, which USDM doesn’t even get
I dont understand how people spend so much money to modify their car, enginewise, and sell it months later. Like did something go wrong where you needed warranty work and now you're SOL? As long as people arent selling it for mechanical or reliability reasons, im ok
That’s not it. From someone whose been in the mod scene for 25 years you see it all the time where someone sells a car right after they are done with mods. It’s almost as if the joy for some is the build part… then when it’s done they move on. Terrible investment but it’s what they want to do
@clauspeterdam9668 or maybe a bent rod and dont want to pay to fix it. Not everyone builds a car just to sell it. It's cheaper to buy a 5000 piece puzzle, do it, admire your accomplishment, tear it apart, and buy a 10k piece puzzle.
@@24S58MIII not in my experience. If the car is running fine one would not know there is a bent rod, unless they took the motor apart, and that point who would put it back together that way? if it’s bad enough and there is rod knock you def know the motor is shot before buying it, meaning it would be mostly unsellable. To be fair I’m not saying there aren’t some sketchy people out there offloading “problem builds” but I’ve seen way more “loss of interest” sells (done project) or just out of budget sells than the sketchy broken projects passed as “running fine”.
911 S is a two seater at $150,000 You need another car too if you have a life and a home. $150,000 is lot for a “fun” car that’s not practical at all. My buddy had one. Kept it 2 years put 8,000 miles on it. Turned the car in. What a waste of money
I own a g80 for 7 months and to be honest I am kind an over it. I miss my rs5 that I traded it for! G80 feels too soft and easy to drive compared to RS5 that was little more raw
@@GG12649 Interesting. No hate. The RS5 is also a modern 6-cylinder turbo but has less power even more luxurious and slower 0-60 and 12 second 1/4. What makes you want to go back to a car 6 year old? The points that enumerated are valid, however there is looming counterpoint if you live in America. That counterpoint being the 25% tariff imposed by the incoming trump administration.BMW M3’s are manufactured at the BMW Group Plant in Munich Germany, thus the car will susceptible to import tariffs that will increase the price of the car.The price increase on all imported vehicles will have a cooling effect on the new and used car market for the effected cars.
Its not the price going up its the dollar being worth far far less after Joe Biden's 4 years. I ordered a 2025 M3 G80 my build was $92,500 + Tax so nearly $100K all in
It goes back much farther than Biden. Trump is to blame as well, and he’ll continue the inflationary spending during his next term. This is a currency crisis and they can no longer keep inflation isolated in the asset market. It’s the end….

Yeah some are leases, but a lot sell within 1 year as well so a mix for sure. Nice!
Prices increase because of inflation. Inflation is causing wages and all other costs to increase. That's why all popular cars are following inflation.

Yeah definitely a great value and daily driver as well
Manual's won't hold their value? Fwiw, manual is the only reason I bought a new M3...
Manual and RWD have depreciated the most, since most people want xDrive only

Porsche prices have gone insane. I specced a Carrera T with basic options to $165k. That’s how much GTS used to go for two years ago.
