Incredibly useful. Just deciding on a used vehicle for our charity landscaping enterprise, and we have two 1500's already. I thought i might need a heavier duty truck to combo with our dump trailer, but now I don't think so. Cheers.
Ben, Thanks for reviewing the 2500 and the 1500. You did great, it really helped to to see the difference side by side. Keep up the good job make great videos.
Been thinking of the 2500 since I plan on doing traveling work and getting a fifth wheel in order to live out of while doing so. I love the looks of the Ram 2500 but have also been trying to compare it to a F-250 to see which one is better.
Do you know how weird it is for Europeans? I was driving diesel station wagon for 10 years which had quite nice specs, very flexible engine and torque close to 5.7 HEMI (even though it was just 2 liter engine). For anything bigger, even small truck diesel is just obvious choice. After moving to US not only I drive Charger R/T (obviously not diesel) but buying small truck I don't really see too much of a choice. EcoDiesel just seems like not enough. For daily driven truck it would be nice to have a bit more power, for towing it would be better to get more torque. It seems like kind of average not-so-fast eco engine. If only there was reasonable diesel option for 1500.
Depends on what you want and what it’s used for. If it’s a city driven grocery getter then get a gasser. If it’s used for something and you plan on having it 10+ years racking up miles then get the diesel
Ben Hardy I agree. High mileage Cummins holds resale a lot better though. My parents have had 4 Rams with 5.7 hemi and put over 200k miles on each of them. None have had any drivetrain issues. Only problem any have had is all of them got plugged cats at around 200k and one needed an EGR sensor changed.
Ben Hardy true as well. More on the whatever you choose to use it for or care about like you said in the video. Nothing sounds better than a beefed up Hemi, and I love everything about the Hemis. I’d never knock on them cause I have nothing bad to say. I’d just personally get a diesel every time if financially an option if it were me. I’m ordering a 3500 limited to replace my Silverado that I screwed up buying. Love the wrap BTW
I could get 19-21 mpg on my 2014 2500 HD 6.7 Laramie on highway of course. Now I am stuck with 2017 Long Horn 3500 HD 6.7.. dually. Mpg on highway is 16/17 mpg. I cannot change to new truck until I am paying this off or else I would be wasting a lot of money like I did on 2014 RAM. New one looks beautiful but weird transmission switch handling.
Comparing a gas engine vs a diesel is no comparison at all. It's like comparing a bicycle to a jet plane. Those contemplating a bicycle are probably not in the market for a jet plane (and vise versa). Badly done man.
i wonder how Ford does it then................ That would be some major frame flexing, a leaking sunroof would be the least of my worries. The reason Dodge didnt do it was to save money. They didnt want to redesign the metal cab itself. Notice the cab is the same.......... Redesigning sheet metal is expensive
Is there any specific reason the heavy duty has less leg room in the rear as a crew cab? I feel like if the interiors share so much Ram could’ve carried over the rear passenger space.
Bobby Boyd they didn’t redo the rear in the heavy duty like they did in the 1500. The crew cab in the 1500 was made bigger for 2019, with a recliner seat option even
The 1500 were completely redesigned, from the frame to the cab design, while the heavy duties only redesigned most of the interior and exterior. The cab designed remained the same.
That is my only complaint about the new HDs. Ford uses the same cab for their 150-250-350. I wish RAM would update their back seat then they wouldn't need to offer the Megacab.
First, "trucks are suppose to be dirty?" Does that mean they never need to go through the car wash? And second, I couldn't hear anything for the engine exhaust due to all the talking. Hopefully you will fix this next time.
@@BenHardyCars GoPros aren't the best to reproduce sound unless you connect an external mic. That reminds me, I need to order the mic adapter myself. I typically use an external audio recorder, but those can be less convenient unless you really need the best sound. An exhaust sound would not be that case.
Andy Zubia That is a custom order color but you have to wait until they have enough orders to get one. Know a person that waited 3months for one. Not a wrap.
Should have done Like for Like - a Laramie 1500 Vs a Laramie 2500 and both Gas, hardly a "Comparison"

SAM Cook thank you!
My word, that green Rebel was a fine looking truck.
I see the green listed as "low volume" on the Ram website. How does that work? How do you get one? Are they regional? Dealer specials?
Not gunna lie but I had to turn up my volume for that diesel startup 😂
Love that ram has kept the same gas and brake pedals since the early 2000s

That green color is dope.
Jake Day Williams I miss the green
Fell like if your not towing daily the 2500 and up is pointless. Off topic Is the power wagon taller than a regular 2500?
WantSome Mor yes it is by about 2 inches
WantSome Mor yes has a 2 inch lift

alternate universe where pewdiepie is born in the US and sells cars instead of hotdogs
FCA really needs to have the 3/4 ton to have all of the components of the 1/2 ton
I have a 5th Gen 1500 and tow a 2/3,000 lbs almost every day. Would it make sense for me to upgrade to a 2500?

Wayne Williams the hemis are very reliable long term as well though

I dont need a diesel I know for sure. But what about the 2500 6.4 vs 1500 5.7 with or without torque? That's my question.
C Allen 1500 gets better fuel economy and is easier to maneuver
You need to compare the 1500 diesel with the 2500 diesel.
That wrap is still the most insane thing to see in person
ThePuReTive 👍🏻👍🏻
I noticed that too, is that factory!?
BlownViper 505 it’s a wrap
@@BenHardyCars Nice, thanks for replying!
Ben Hardy what’s the color name for that wrap
OML where did you get that GREEN on that REBEL??????? 😍😍😍😍
Is the cabin structure/doors identical between a 2500 and a 1500
What about the exhaust brake on the 2500 which is a really great cool feture.
Which one you should buy!?
It depends on your budget.
not sure what a sunroof has to do with structural for towing, hitches are mounted to the frame, would have zero effect on the cab when towing
Acreage Living heavy loads put a lot of stress on the whole truck and break the seals on the sunroof

I like the 1500 lights they just need to be a liiiiiitle bit brighter 👌
Vancovermycity I feel like they are very bright already

THERE MAKING THE 1500 BIGGER THEN THE HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS
Only a city boy, who doesn’t actually need a truck would care if a truck is dusty.
Hey Ben After searching I purchased a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 6.4 crewcab.
joseph puchel nice!

Krane I usually use my GoPro for exhaust sound, because it picks it up better than the camera used in this video.

No mention of the powerwagon!! It has 4.10 gearing and a 6.7 hemi
volk that comparison will be happening soon🤫
6.4 hemi 6.7 is the Cummins

In the box.
Awesome video and very helpful! I'd buy a truck from this guy in a minute!

No

Go with ram it go
