      Nah, I really prefer measuring 5 times and printing 1-2 times.
      Less waste in time and material is always a good thing imo.

    • @ThomasNing
      @ThomasNing 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Der_Kleine_Mann I agree, but originally we were joking about how things often go wrong with 3D prints, either design or machine wise, meaning even if you're careful to measure twice, you still often end up doing multiple prints. And it's a play on the common saying, measure twice cut once if you didn't get it.

    I got excited seeing the pixelated keys! I have explained to many people why you should blur your keys in photos. I have even showed a couple people how I can replicate their key. but thats mostly because in the US most houses use schlage or kwikset so getting pinning profiles is very simple. I was planning on doing this, but I just went with a windshield suction-cup mount that had an FM transmitter on it.
    Yeah, my car is old enough to not have an AUX input, but too new to have a cassette player that could be adapted. Mounting it on the lower left (US) corner of the windshield seems the safest; it doesn't get in the way and it's really easy to glance at it.

    I had a 2008 Opel GT, or rather the Pontiac Solstice as it was badged in the US. The gauges in my car looked a lot like yours. It was the year before they put Bluetooth on it. I really wanted the bluetooth, even though it was limited to only making and receiving calls and not capable of playing music from your phone. So I bought the 2009 steering wheel with BT controls and the BT brain box and decided I could live without the OnStar factory communications. Thanks to the OnStar, the car already had microphone and integration with the radio, I kept the original radio and it worked fine for BT, showing the phone number of whoever called me on the display! The BT box replaced the OnStar box perfectly, went right into the wiring harness behind the passenger seat, major teardown - that was fun. But worth it, it took me a couple of hours and about $250 but I could make and receive calls using the factory radio.

      I have a little trust issue with wireless chargers, in the sense that they are quite lossy and can get a bit warm - right against the phone's battery. I know this is not the most rational thing to be afraid of, and i assume those that just pop components willy nilly are just defective, but still. What i like though are those cheap magnetic cables, you can buy a dozen from China quite cheaply, leave the adapter end in the phone permanently and then just have a cord per location or use case.

      Did you first learned to use metric? Since I did not, I find it harder. Just wanted to know if that would be a reason for preference.

      Metric is a lot nicer for coversions, but people freak out about it too much. You can easily do the same thing you do in metric with imperial. It's whatever is easier for you for the specific thing you're doing.

      I am American and thus use inches and yard and crap. Metric is so much easier. I use it at home and it's just much quicker and easier to add measurements and make adjustments for scale. Someday maybe America will catch up to the the rest of the world for measurement standards.

    Fantastic video. Learnt a lot from this Tom, 1) Never heard of Android Auto before. 2) Didn't realise there were all those settings in Slic3r PE. My current horse carriage has satnav etc, but will give this a go anyway.

    Hey, nice work! This is exactly why i love 3d Printing!
    Would you mind sharing your Filament and Cooling settings for the Material? I am printing the Aprintapro PC-ABS on an MK3 and i feel there is room for improvement with looks vs strengh (especially bridging and overhangs)
    Thanks!

      Hi, actually I dont understand why should we do it? Security?

    • @ConsultingjoeOnline
      @ConsultingjoeOnline 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. now a days its very easy to take a picture and recreate the key and 3D print it. Then maybe copy that to get a real key.

      only problem is the key is in the ignition and it requires a chip (maybe) so no chance of copying the key (or maybe print hehe)

    Sweet, I own a 2007 Astra Twintop convertible which has a lay out a bit differently and I replaced the radio with a media system, I just use it with a fan mount, but this is a way better solution!
