    The thing that helped me the most in anatomy is learning the connections and gestural flow pf the body, in the simplest way possible. It's always fun when I'm drawing something going from one anatomical feature to the next in an organic manner, and by the end it (hopefully) looks good. It's not something I see discussed that much, I think things are sometimes taught in isolation and people end up stitching together a frankenstein monster of arguably good looking individual parts, but that maybe don't work together in a cohesive way. Damn this comment sounds pretentious now...

    My dad actually owns the book "figure drawing for all its worth", and its from 1960! My granddads drawings are in there! Its so cool to see that so many generations are learning from the same book

      That's fantastic Arya, you have to keep that book in the family! What kind of art did your granddad do?

      @@Swatches i know! I am learning from it right now! He mostly drew watercolour scenery, but in that book he tried to draw anatomy. It looks really good!

    Ok, I ordered the Loomis book. It seems that name comes up a lot. Thanks, Clint, for putting this this content out. You have been very helpful in my art learning experience.

    These were absoloutley amazing tutorials!! They were easy to follow and I can't believe how much I was able to improve by watching these! The biggest thing I took away was probably form and learning about planner forms because now that I know how to do quick sketches of different references I can adapt to my own style and improve! I want to start creating comics and these videos definitely have helped me so much, thank you again!

    This series was very helpful! Thank you. Another book I recently learned of that is helpful for beginners is Anatomy for Sculptors, which I'm considering purchasing and I have heard has been extremely helpful for artists who haven't gone to art school.

    I don't think I will ever draw figures or cartoons for a career but by Jove I learned so much from your videos about the topics included I almost think I could do it!! Right now I am settled with just painting step-by-step versions but I cannot wait to share all of your videos with younger members of my family who enjoy digital games etc and attempt to draw some of the figures. Thanks for sharing your skill and knowledge.

    This is a great way of analyzing posing/anatomy without going into my normal, neurotic copy-mode. Thanks Clint! I like your brains...

    I've always been confused by the circle...no one said what the circle was they just said it's a circle. By you saying that the circle represents the cranium I finally understand the purpose of it.

    • @Swatches
      @Swatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's kind of funny, never noticed that people don't actually specify how it represents the skull. It's works well because you can think of it as a sphere that has a mask (face) stuck on it.
