Great teaching. In our xingyi Stopping fist we emphasize to stepping down to rebound from ground and then redirect through dan tian, in a similar method.
In the 2nd Chen taichi form (pow choi) I get this feeling a lot in the transitions into the fa jin movements, as more of a "loading" posture to ready to discharge rather than a stomping with the feet action, as it is practiced in the first form. Would this be considered to be more correct? I know it "seems" to contradict the "foot-led" action of "stomping" and feels more like a setting of the hip structure to explode in a different and "desired" direction based on the situation or context of the movement. Is this why/the reason it should be practiced this way? Thank you for all of the insight you share with us
Nice!

Excellent explanation! Just to add it can very harmful to your joints if you don't practice in the way Master Yang describes.

Great, except I have no idea how it actually looks in practice :)
Tell me that you're using a yielding force without using the word "yielding" 😅
