      I made a long reply, but forgot to add that I have always used a local insurance agent and have had Progressive since 2000. Six months ago, I took the dive into an online broker/policy. I still have the same coverage and still with Progressive. I pay every 6 months and my payment is $100 less for each payment, so $200 less per year. For the same damned thing!!

    • @nicelady51
      @nicelady51 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jaju123456 Geez. He's homeless and has no medical insurance. He needs and is entitled to medical care. Medicaid is not the do-all tell-all people think it is. I have Medicare and Medicaid. The Medicaid does not pay unless I have spent $1371 in one day. That would be like a couple expensive tests, like MRI or CT scans. If Medicaid happens to kick in, it picks up the rest of your coinsurance and copays for the rest of the month. Then the cycle begins again the next month. These #'s are according to income. It's a complicated deal to say the least. Probably easier for illegals than for citizens, though.

    $600 car payment? Well, still cheaper than rent for most parts of this country.
    And you're right ... making extra payments on the car is a great idea. We paid extra on our mortgage every month and saved over 10 years on it. It wasn't always easy, but we just never thought about it ... that "extra" was just a scheduled payment, just like the mortgage.
    Geez ... the pay/earn and risk/reward cycle in this country is crazy .... if you're already rich, no problem ...the issue comes when you try to build wealth with honest labor.

    Bren, have you considered joining a Credit Union and Re-financing your car loan with them for a lower interest rate? Also, if you have an Aldi's in your area they have Kombucha for $2.89ea, with Kombucha the fermentation process turns to alcohol because of the sugar, so from what I understand it's still better for your health, with that said, you should probably still avoid it because of the 0.5% alcohol. I switch from Geico after 25yrs to Progressive and save $80 a month.

    Hi Bren, spend some time with a tax consultant as I'm confident you can write off a percentage of your car payment, insurance, your cell phone as you're a in theory self-employed. Therefore things needed to keep your business afloat (such as the car, insurance, gas, maintenance & cell phone-internet-hot spot) are what is known as "non reimbursed" business expense.♥

    Happy Saturday, thank-you for sharing, but with this inflation going on nothing adds up to make any sense right now, hopeful for a better future. I'm on a fixs income and still thankfull as I'm a senior, because, I budget everything each month, but I still treat myself too something nice once a month like going too a cafe, movies etc. Life is for living not just for surviving🎉🎉🎉

    Geico did me dirty the same way, I'm 61 years old, no wreck in my life, some dimwit short brakes me and I bump them, minor stuff as you would say, they upped my monthly $100 immediately, I left them immediately for a lower rate that Geico had me at before the bump.

    I think having more than 900 usd to set aside every month is not bad. You can invest it into ETFs or even open your own IRA. You are doing great

    You can refinance the car right now. The feds lowered interest rates. Please check out community banks they are less likely to ask for cash down.

    Yeah your car payment is 500+ but it's also your home. If you were paying rent & car THAT would hurt. Lol😅
    All the experience you've mentioned is not bad really. It's like what the rest of us pay, so not bad at all. Give yourself credit cuz you're doing a great job 👍

    Echoing the positivity here, brother - don't be hard on yourself or self-depreciating. We ALL go through some $hit, honestly, and have to deal with things. We've all been there when it comes to car notes or the IRS (bunch of thieves, quite literally). We're all glad to see you getting by and working towards a goal. We're all here to support you.
    Ever think of doing a Patreon? I'm sure you'd get more income that way. Keep up the positivity and keep taking care of yourself! Love your videos.

    Side note: I'm currently in the process of paying off 24k in CC debt while living in NYC. It feels impossible but I'm slowly getting there. You're not alone brother. Keep inspiring!

    Even with the price of everything so high nowadays, you have a very decent income to keep your bills paid up and to take care of yourself and your kid with some extra. That's a blessing in itself and you're doing fine! I'm also a sober person but before I quit drinking, I realized that booze was tearing my budget up. A growing savings account and money to travel is now what I consider another benefit of sobriety 😊
