emg 81s have a lot of treble but they get kinda unclear so i got the 60a as it goes with the 60 better but if an active guitar from scratch i’d get fishmans since they’re more versatile and they don’t have redundant models since they’re almost all signature
*Javier Reyes* is definitely one of my influences in switching to an *8-string guitar* alongside *Tosin Abasi, Dino Cazares* & of course *the Meshuggah boys.*
While yes, I absolutely admire Tosins style, playing, etc... I gotta admit that I enjoy Javiers style and playing that much more... I’ll probably hear some shit for this but oh well !
I usually dont care for more odd shaped guitars but I absolutely love his sig ltd and those pick ups sound so good. I have a set of moderns in my six an a set of abasis in my 7. Love fishman.
His sig 8 string plays phenomenal. I aint an 8string guy but the neck felt really comfortable. This is also the best sounding Fishman tbh from the demos
I really really wish these came with the Fishman pickup covers like most of the others. It looks soooo much better and cleaner than non covered pickups. They sound really good though. I love the cleans!
Fishman could you comment on this - Javier is stating that voice 3 in fact has 2 separate voices within it. This isn’t how any of the current pickups with 3 voices work. Are there 4 voices on these pickups?
Yep I was a bit confused by that. I had a guitar with the regular 2 voice Moderns but was also wired for coil split - with that the voice 1/2 would apply to the coil split so you could say there were 4 different 'sounds' that way, but no optimised single coil voice. Whereas, like you say everything on the Fishman website suggests that on pickups with the single coil voice 3 it overrides the others. Perhaps Javier is actually using the HFT (high frequency tilt) option that darkens the tone a bit. Or maybe back when he did this demo and it was still early days using the pickups he thought voice 1/2 applied to the single coil too. Not sure if I could really hear a difference in those parts. That said, the pickups sound absolutely great in every demoed voicing/position. The 'jazzbox' neck tone is great - getting unique sounds like that right alongside a more versatile tone is exactly what the Fluence tech is best for I think. I definitely want to try this set sometime. But as my current Fluence guitar is a multiscale with soapbar mounts, Javier's set wouldn't really be suitable. Think I will try the Abasi set as the stock Moderns don't have enough low end growl in this guitar. Which I was surprised by as my previous guitar with Moderns did have a satisfying low end chunk...probably due to the mahogany body so I guess the construction of the guitar makes a difference even with active pickups!
These sound amazing but I think I'm gonna stick with my Dimarzio Eclipses on my 8. Reyes really nailed it with those and I just don't see a reason to replace them. Someday maybe!
@MrMyopinionsmatter really now? Interesting. Definitely try them out in real life if you haven't. Theyre the best humbuckers I've ever played for any genre to me personally. Also nice username haha
Fuck. I think these might be the ones. I wanted to replace the Hives in my N8FP with the Abasi 8s but these sounds... 😍 On to listen to the Merrows just to be sure >_>
How can you make more different Pickups when you're not able to supply certain countries with them? ONLY Thomann... I don't want to shove money up big T ass because he's destroying the industry.
Im just here to see hombre javier play his slick riffs
Literally went “oh my god” when he played the bridge voice three, it’s so beautiful
Sound Test and Javier's Pickups used:

What`s the song riff he plays for last?
@@Cestariarts
You mean at the end of the video or when does he play?
@@bruceanthony8345 on 6:24 thump style
@@Cestariarts
I don't know men. But this slap section it's Awesome
Where does he mention that they are outer/inner coils?
The fact that you can hear EVERY GODDAMN STRING in the chord is so cool :O

Blessed timeline where this man is in the same band as tosin
Honestly, Javier is SOOOOO underrated.
Wann hear the 6 string set, that neck pickup is awesome
02:31 Javier set confirmed to have no volume loss in thr single coil position
*Javier Reyes* is definitely one of my influences in switching to an *8-string guitar* alongside *Tosin Abasi, Dino Cazares* & of course *the Meshuggah boys.*

I'll take Javier over Tosin myself
Agreed
same here. sometimes I'll be in the mood to listen to AAL, but mostly find myself listening to mestis
omg that sound is insane! that cleans!
I’m really excited for these! Already love the tone on eclipse set
3:45 what is he playing here? Is there a tab for it or is the madlad just jamming something he wrote in the studio for demos? It’s beautiful
It’s “Nephele” a song from their Joy of motion album. That riff starts at 1:20 :)
Sick cleans!
The clean are absolutley fantastic !! I want to hear a comparision between those pickups and the dimarzio eclipse 8
Truly an amazing player
I wonder if the drummer also has that *thumb thing* going on.....
😂
You guys have got to make 6 string bass pickups.
I usually dont care for more odd shaped guitars but I absolutely love his sig ltd and those pick ups sound so good. I have a set of moderns in my six an a set of abasis in my 7. Love fishman.
Does anyone know which song he’s playing at 3:46… it is stuck in my head for some time now! Such a beautiful playing!
hey man idk if u found it but it’s ‘Nephele’ from ‘The Joy Of Motion’
@@illumo.3098No, I haven’t, so I‘m extra glad you answered my question. Thank you! Listening to it in this very moment… such a good track!
It’s quite versatile, this set might actually replace my Emgs
His sig 8 string plays phenomenal. I aint an 8string guy but the neck felt really comfortable. This is also the best sounding Fishman tbh from the demos
i want a javier sig in the neck and a tosin sig in the bridge. i think that would be the perfect pickup set.
Man i neeeeed a set of these. Javier is such a tasteful player, and his tones are the fucking bomb
release date? price?
I really really wish these came with the Fishman pickup covers like most of the others. It looks soooo much better and cleaner than non covered pickups. They sound really good though. I love the cleans!
This. Also I wish they came in more colors!
i think that Javier wanted them like that. Hes traditional or ole school if u will. He doesn't even like fanned frets.
There’s no way to throw a cover on top of them ?
@@d77sauce i quessing can...if other sets can i dont see why not
I agree would look so much better covered. Preferably in black.
Silly question, but how do you change the voicings?
Sounds sooo good.
Heck yeah Javier These pickups sound Metal af and that clean is soothing. I'm putting these in my Ibanez 💯
How soon can I buy these babies?
what's the song at 5:10?
Valair Hoffman it’s called hace tiempo
Finally I've been waiting for these for awhile.
About time fam
I noticed that both Javier and Tosin have that bent thumb on their right hand.
not as much as tosins tho. Tosins can literally reach a right angle.
Song at 5:10 ?
Can anyone tell me the song at 3:50 pls??
Nephele by Animals As Leaders
Michael McCandless thank you so much! Ive been starting to get into them and was looking for it but couldn’t find it. Javier is the goat🔥🙌
I can not believe the fucking tones that just came out of that guitar, it just sounds perfect, i dont think you could do it better
Wow these are amazing
I love the voice 2 so distinct 😍
Is he using a three way switch or a five way?
The clean neck sounds are fucking magical!!!
Your beard is an entity of it's own man! 🤘
Ufff might have to cop
Fishman could you comment on this - Javier is stating that voice 3 in fact has 2 separate voices within it. This isn’t how any of the current pickups with 3 voices work. Are there 4 voices on these pickups?
I was thinking that exact same thing. In all Fluence pickups, Voice 3 overrides Voices 1 & 2. Perhaps that changed but their site says otherwise.
Yep I was a bit confused by that. I had a guitar with the regular 2 voice Moderns but was also wired for coil split - with that the voice 1/2 would apply to the coil split so you could say there were 4 different 'sounds' that way, but no optimised single coil voice.

Are these direct mount only? I'm trying to install a KM8 set (same design/size) and the tabs don't line up with the mounting rings
6:05 THAT INSTAGRAM RIFF?!?!
instagram.com/p/BXlP1NFBIAu/?igshid=riqcbmmle77g
Okay I love fishman and animals as leaders but the ultimate question is which pickup set is better Tosin's or Javier's. Man life is hard lol
So these pickups are intended for non-fab fretted guitars only?
Can you use these pickups both at the same time? as in 1 single coil from each humbucker, or all 4 at the same time
How much is the 6 strings pickups?
When will they be available ?
would honestly not even use voice 2 on either pickuops just the singlecoils and voices 1 sound amazing and are worth it to me
These sound amazing but I think I'm gonna stick with my Dimarzio Eclipses on my 8. Reyes really nailed it with those and I just don't see a reason to replace them. Someday maybe!

I'm so proud of the homies.
The tone monster himself!!!
Tosin gets all the attention but dont sleep on my dude Javier he is a monster of a player.
How does everyone like it? It sounds pretty good on the video but the feel and dynamic is one thing i have to feel for myself...
3:31 the "seccot" position? hahaha sounds awesome
Fuck. I think these might be the ones. I wanted to replace the Hives in my N8FP with the Abasi 8s but these sounds... 😍 On to listen to the Merrows just to be sure >_>
Lookin like thanos in that thumbnail 🤙
Not gonna lie this is the only fishman set were I can actually hear the difference.
3:45 God damn I love that so much
Silence! The god has spoken..
TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Classical guitar players with long fingernails = yuck.
I swear these super skilled dudes always have horrible tastes for guitsr designs
