- Just a quick little review on the Kikka in War Thunder. This video mainly exists because of the current event grind which I've basically given up on, I've been going through the Japanese air tech tree for a bit now and recently got the Kikka. This is how it went.

The kikka is a pretty good plane when it was at 6.7
Those were the good days. Then the snail got its slimy drool all over it and it was moved to 7.0. Still funny in naval though just zoom in bomb zoom out.

honestly even at 7.0 ihad a lot of fun with the kikka, just have to force a head on
I havent used the Kikka in a while so sad to see its redeeming guns have been nerfed, but i still love the fighter, it has its flaws but has its ups, for example its one of the faster jets of its br, only thing that will cause you trouble is surprise surprise Su-11 but ignoring that its still a fun aircraft, for the first time an japanese plane outspeeds others, it means whenever you run out of ammo you have an out, the rocket boosters let you get in the air quicker then anything else that doesnt allowing for higher altitudes faster and allowing for the boom and zoom tactic, its a literal brick but i found that its turn is fine in some situations but if i feel the enemy is doing circles around me i will just max my engines and get out of there, the low turn if i remember correctly means you dont lose speed that easily, allowing you to nope out of their. Its a aircraft that works for me personally, and a fun one, only problem it has like every jet is Su-11 lording over it with its iron fist
Yeah that's what I found with in most situations, I really wish I played it before the HE nerf and round velocity update because I feel like it would've been so much nicer. It's just now I'm forced to play it much more passively and like a vulture which bleeds the speed a lot. The Kikka does have pretty good speed retention and top speed but the acceleration makes it so that enemy players can still still on your tail for a while before you have a chance at outrunning them.
@@slippynote3740 Figuring out how to evade gun fire before you can speed away is hard, just got to wiggle a bit and try entering dives before pulling into a steady or sharp vertical climb they cant follow. Playing passively is definitely the way, and seeing the repair cost of jets, i will gladly be the vulture of the airfield
@@qaterdargon4041 Definitely. I'm still pretty new to jets (only other jet I played seriously were the R2s) so getting used to the different flight performance is an ongoing thing for me. At this point I've fully spaded the Kikka and won't be touching it for a while, but I do look forward to coming back to it to see what I've learned from my time making this video and hopefully from other jets as well.
kikka from my experience a year ago was good, you just have to stay fast and not turn, because the kikka has a great acceleration and top speed compared to others at that br range(ofc su-11 is still better).

god when this thing was 6.7 it rolled same with the r2. on the r2 i had about a 7kd when i first unlocked them in 2020
I've recently got back into the R2s, or at least the V3, and it seems to be doing fine because of the additional two 30mm guns, the HE change is still noticeable but not as much. The R2s are still pretty fun imo.
Dude put the fuel on 7 and see the difference in performance
Is this just a copy of the German jet fighter but Japanese?
The engines are the only thing inspired/copied from the Germans. Everything else is originally Japanese iirc.
Wing shape is different, guns are different, fuselage is smaller. Also you got rocket boosters.
