    I have first hand experience in it. I was born in the wealthiest family of my village in 1985. And then my father started extra marital affairs, drank alcohol and did not take care of the family. My mother then started drinking alcohol and kept us hungry all day. My family was doomed. In 1998, robbers entered our house and killed my 7 years old sister. All my 3 brothers got into depression. My back surgery ruined my health forever and i suffer pain every day for the past 12 years. Fear and anxiety every day. All because the family monk who does our prayer is a dogyal ( Dorje Shugden) . I now take refuge in Guru Rimpoche to get rid of Dorje Shugden. 🙏

Pabongkha is a good teacher but make great error in propogating a mischevious spirit, even encourage his students to destroy Guru Padma statues n temples just bcos they adopt the teachings n the correct views of Lama Tsongkhapa. If u think Pabongkha is correct, then u should follow the teaching taught by him. Hence, HHDL is correct to tell such spirit worshippers like u to not follow him, ... no one forced u to follow HHDL. And he so clearly around 07:00 spoke on that he wouldn't force anyone to vote for or against Shugden worship. He said if the majority vote for Shugden worship then I will shut up and utter not even a single word. The referendum was held 2 weeks later and the majority voted against Shugden worship.

    His Holiness the Dalai Lama deserves the Bharat Ratna
    No individual of the 20th Century inspired more people than Mahatma Gandhi did. He brought back the Indian tradition of Ahimsa (nonviolence) in the arena of political struggle - an idea that changed the world from civil rights movements in the US to the Solidarity movement in Poland and the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. Albert Einstein, another equally prominent figure of the 20th Century, stated that “Generations to come will scarcely believe that such a man as this one, ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth.”
    Despite becoming the most prominent symbol of peace, Mahatma Gandhi was never awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. There were several hypotheses as to why Norwegian committee members made that omission. One of them was that the Norwegian committee did not want to make the British angry. Whatever the reason/s be, Michael Sohlam, the Executive Director of the foundation, publicly declared that “…We missed a great laureate, and that’s Gandhi. It is a big regret”.
    Among several world leaders inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet is one of them. His Holiness has said on numerous occasions that he considers himself as Gandhi’s follower. Time magazine named The Dalai Lama as Gandhi’s spiritual heir to nonviolence. In his acceptance speech, when His Holiness was awarded the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, he paid tribute to Gandhi by saying that “the prize is a tribute to the man who founded the modern tradition of nonviolent action for change, Mahatma Gandhi whose life taught and inspired me.”
    A son of India from the land of snow
    When speaking to millions of his followers or to a group of small gatherings of influential individuals, His Holiness often identifies himself as a ‘Son of India.’ In his own words, His Holiness said, “I also consider myself as the son of India as every part of my brain cells are filled with ancient Indian knowledge, and my body is because of Indian rice and dal.” Since he escaped from the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959, His Holiness has lived in India for about 62 years now. His Holiness’s four principal Commitments - the promotion of human values; promotion of religious harmony; preservation of Tibetan culture; and reviving ancient Indian knowledge based on the Nalanda tradition, fundamentally promote ancient Indian values, are missions which His Holiness has dedicated his life to.
    Whenever he met with some of the most influential world leaders or the general public, he praised and promoted Indian virtues with utmost sincerity and clarity. No other individual of our time, in my assessment, did more in promoting India’s positive image through the thousand-year tradition of compassion (Karuna) and nonviolence (Ahimsa) around the world than His Holiness The Dalai Lama of Tibet. The world recognized his efforts and awarded him some of the most prestigious awards, such as the Nobel Peace Prize (1989), United States Congressional Gold Medal (2007), and several Honorary citizenships from several countries and Honorary Doctorates from many universities.
    Bharat Ratna and His Holiness the Dalai Lama
    Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, has the sole purpose of recognizing individuals who have made “an exceptional service/performance of the highest order in any field of human endeavour.” A number of Indian intellectuals and thinkers have opined that the Tibetan spiritual leader deserves the Bharat Ratna for spreading the message of peace and Karuna all his life.
    Shanta Kumar, a senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, submitted to the Indian Government a letter signed by the MPs of several political parties recommending Bharat Ratna for Dalai Lama in 2019. A 2021 nationally representative survey conducted in India by IANS indicates that 62% of Indians support the motion of conferring Bharat Ratna to His Holiness.
    But then why was His Holiness not awarded with Bharat Ratna so far? To put it simply, I would argue that the Indian Government is being over cautious by believing that doing so will trigger a strong response from China. While it may be a practical concern, however, we must be very clear that the purpose of awarding the Bharat Ratna to His Holiness should not be to gain some geopolitical points or to anger China but to recognize His Holiness’s unparalleled contribution toward the promotion of compassion and nonviolence.
    Awarding Bharat Ratna to His Holiness to gain or send a political message to China, as opined by some politicians, is not just a practically counter-productive but also disgrace to India’s highest civilian award - Bharat Ratna and definitely not a way to honour His Holiness’s exceptional service/performance of the highest order.
    Does His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet need Bharat Ratna?
    True to the principle of ‘Nishkam Karma Yoga’ (the Yoga of Selfless Action) from Bhagwat Gita, His Holiness’ work in promoting ancient Indian thoughts as an Indian ambassador around the world is truly devoid of any selfish motives. His sole purpose is to contribute to the well-being of all beings. Bestowing or not bestowing any recognition/awards to him does not make much sense to him personally. But it contributes positively to the work His Holiness does in promoting human values such as compassion (Karuna) and nonviolence (Ahimsa).
    I agreed with veteran BJP leader Shanta Kumar when he said, “by honouring His Holiness with the Bharat Ratna, India will be honouring itself.” Bestowing Bharat Ratna to His Holiness is actually recognizing the Indian tradition of Karuna (compassion) and Ahimsa (nonviolence).
    The Nobel committee regretted not awarding Mahatma Gandhi with the Nobel peace prize. It was loss not for Gandhi but for the ideals of Ahimsa (nonviolence). In awarding His Holiness the with the Bharat Ratna, we assure that Karuna (compassion) is honored in the land where its ideals are honored for thousands of years. Let’s make that happen. In fact, whose accomplishment and contribution are more appropriate to be honored with the peepal leaf-shaped medallion engraved with the Lion Capital of Ashoka than that of His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet?

      Its already settled long ago, shortly after the Loseling teaching. Most of the tibetans lay n monks opted to follow HHDL. Following that, tibetans who came to india to attend this teachings return to tibet n disseminated the message of HHDL. Then all the monastries clean n cleared out the forbidden statues, n disband the spirit worshippers to that big temple that was renovated n richly supported by china govt. Other than this cult that is in the china sponsored spirit temple, the 4 main buddhist schools are in harmony, rime trend. However, in Bodhgaya, there is also quite a big temple of these forbidden spirit worshippers. I know that there are also some active spirit worshippers among the western practitioners, but its their freedom of choice n karma since that referendum. Cheers.

    10:30 Yes. This is a problem with 'wealth/resources' protectors. Those who do not have Bodhicitta will ALWAYS certainly fall into that trap. Specially when financial times are hard. Dolgyal protector practices can only be successfully practiced in a monastery or Dharma centre for the monastery or Dharma centre to remain financially solvent, IF the advanced practitioners of Yamantaka or Vajrayogini with FULL Bodhicitta are practicing in that monastery or Dharma centre. Without the presence of these practitioners; the protector practice is devoid of 'aim' and therefore can generate no benefit. Even if temporary wealth is achieved by the centre, it will fall apart further down the line. It will lack stability. If an INDIVIDUAL advanced practitioner of Yamantaka or Vajrayogini with Bodhicitta performs Dolgyal sadhana privately; then nobody else would even know about it. A practitioner at that level will do his/her own thing anyway; since they cannot 'propagate' their sadhana since it is PRIVATE. So really; it comes down to the practices being performed to support the resources of the monastery/centre IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE YAMANTAKA/VAJRAYOGINI ADEPTS, or else what is the ACTUAL purpose if the adepts are not there? And individual doing the practice as part of a monastery/centre cannot generate 'personal' resources. I'm not completely sure why we need 'DEMOCRACY' style voting on an issue which comes down to pure logic. Couldn't we just adopt a Chinese Communist Party style and hand out dunces caps? 😳 I mean; how can you have a Shugden monastery if Vajroyini or Yamantaka themselves are not there?! 😳 It's like having a security team of bodygards to protect the U. S. president running around in Mongolia whilst he is in Washington. What does 12th Samding Dorje Phagmo think? Does she think that it's beneficial for students to practice Dorje Shugden in the U. K. whilst she is living in China? I don't know. 10:52 But why are they 'propitiating' Dolgyal? Is he attacking them? 😳 So they are 'propritiating' them so that he doesn't attack them for practicing Vajrayogini without Bodhicitta? Hmm. I don't know really. I think best to do things in the right order and grow the Bodhicitta first. Then when you practice Vajrayogini or Yamantaka or all other practices; the protectors are at your feet like adoring puppy dogs! What's the point in doing things without Bodhicitta and then have to spend hours and hours propitiating? I don't get it? 😳 Very confusing! 11:48 Well no! Murder is not no big deal! 😳

    14:44 NO. Not really. I don't agree. Since this is an Anuttara Yoga Tantra issue; I feel that it should be resolved through debate by yogic practitioners. I don't see what people 'voting' and 'signing' has to do with anything. How do we know that those people 'voting' and 'signing' have any philosophical and yogic understanding? How do we know that they have Renunciation, Bodhicitta and Wisdom Realising Emptiness? This issue ABSOLUTELY doesn't concern anyone other than the people who have R, B and WRE!! 😳 15:08 Well yes; but then if your resolve the issue spiritually then there's no debate, and no need to 'vote'. I really don't agree with 'democracy' on an issue such as this; because people who practice Tantra 'inappropriately' can come to great harm. So I feel that it's up to the knowledgeable people to express the issue in a DEFINITIVE manner to the point that there is no more valid debate. A 'democracy' style decision on an issue like this is giving lay people and 'non-monastic' people in many different countries, a decision making power to elect to practice things which could cause them great harm without their having CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD the potential for great harm. This would mean that we are not taking enough responsibility for the well-being of others. The practice is either 'beneficial' (for beings with Bodhicitta) or 'harmful' (for beings without Bodhicitta or with Bodhicitta or both). THERE IS NO IN-BETWEEN! We cannot advocate that people should be able to do what they like without first ensuring that the explanations have been understood by them in great depth. Kechara Dharma centre in Malaysia is a big Dharma Centre, and Tsem Rinpoche is no longer there, and there are many many students there. I have had very pleasant contact with the students of Kechara and I would not be happy for them not to have more thorough explanations, when Tsem Rinpoche is no longer present to protect them. Until I myself have not COMPLETELY understood the full issue with ABSOLUTE CLARITY from a yogic perspective; I'm not really happy for any students without Bodhicitta, in the West or Malaysia or anywhere at all to be doing potentially very harmful practice. This is not monks voting in a trantric monastery. This is an issue affecting many very young lay students in many dharma centres internationally. Western style 'democracy' is what Western style governments do so that they can put the responsibility on the populus when things go wrong. The Mahayana can't do that. I don't know if the students at Kechara are receiving benefits from Dolgyal practice or not. But if I thought that they weren't; I would kill myself to explain why I felt it was not beneficial for them! I wouldn't want to just abandon them to there fate! 😳 These are young people and women with children! Not senior monks in tantric monastery! 😳

    Dorje Shugden practice is part of Vajrayogini or Yamantaka practice. A component, not an end in itself. If his Holiness 'restricts' a practice (actually it was the 13th Dalai Lama who
    restricted it), and they do not agree; then they can debate the issue with him. If His Holiness was outdebated he would capitulate. If you cannot outdebate His Holiness then you have to accept his view. These are just the rules of fair debate. His Holiness is the highest teacher
    in the Mahayana. NOT because he's the Dalai Lama; but because he ACTUALLY has the highest level in debate and in teaching. His explanations on difficult Dharma points are DEFINITIVE. When anger and placards come out; it's because the intellectual capacity and valid argument are lacking. A 'restriction' on the practice of Dorje Shugden is not 'lack of religious freedom'! D. Shugden is not a religion! Those who go against His Holiness' 'restriction' on the propagation of a particular protector practice are not religious people! They are merely practicing divisive sectarianism! Which has nothing to do with the Mahayana on any level! Nor with Buddhism; since they cannot practice Guru Devotion at the most BASIC level!

Such practice has nothing to do with enlightenment and the purpose of the buddhas' teachings... These unshame people are literaly being paid by the Chinese some of which probably don't even practice anything... Sad to see that due to poverty and political circumstances people choose to stay on the wrong side of history and definitely on the wrong views taught by the Budhas of the past...

Specially if the Mahayana Tibet can work with the Mahayana Shaolin. From a logical point of view; it seems to make no sense at all for the PRC to fight one of its own greatest assets! 😳 12:44 No. It's not a 'religious' matter. It's a practice within a practice of Anuttara Tantra matter. It's an Anuttara Tantra matter. 2:40 For some reason the Chinese government appears to really hate His Holiness. Even though His Holiness has always maintained that he DOES NOT seek 'independence' and that he is a Marxist at heart and doesn't agree with Capitalism. So really the mind boggles as to why China would not work with His Holiness in its own favour. It's just too peculiar! Almost like stupidity problem or something. Or maybe lack of adequate translators. 😳 3:14 Honestly; that's just SO CHILDISH it's hard to hear! So whether the U. S. rules the world or China rules the world; either way we are in the hands of childish minds. Very depressing! 😳 4:14 THAT'S REALLY VERY AUSPICIOUS! If Guru Rinpoche is self-destructing with explosives this means he walks among us! 😳 4:50 Well I can understand that anyone who GOES AGAINST His Holiness would found this difficult in India, because Tibetans in exile will feel very very hurt by any criticism of their precious Dalai Lama. And understandably so given what Tibetans suffered and how many lives were lost during the exodus to India due to climatic adaptation issues. And given how hard His Holiness and Jetsun Pema worked to build conditions for Tibetans in exile from scratch. So it's very difficult, if you give asylum to a people and there leader and then allow critical attacks on that leader.

    As someone who has lived in a peaceful democratic country, with religious freedom my whole life, this video made me sick.This video proves there is no religious freedom. In what country do they vote on religion? Not in democratic countries where there is religious freedom. Only under a dictator do they have false votes, where the outcome is known already and only more problems will come from it. This video is disgusting for any Tibetans living in India watching it, who can see clearly they have no freedoms. The mob rules.I pray that his harmful hallucinations come to an end soon and that in the mean time they do not affect anyone outside of the Indian border. I pray that all sane Tibetans can get out of India as soon as possible and get to a safe country far from the Dalai Lama. Many Tibetans do not realize they have no freedom of speech. When he says "look at both sides clearly" then he lies about both sides. You have no choice but to do what he says, even if it is nonsensical, or you will have to live in fear. He knows many Tibetans are angry with China (very non-Buddhist) and he lies about Wisdom Buddha Dorje Shugden and China (ridiculous) and uses their anger to join his evil, sectarian, lying side. I pray (for the last 18 years)that he stops all his negative actions so peace will come back to all Buddhist communities world wide. May everyone be happy.

    It seems this spirit was venerated for over 3 1/2 centuries within Tibetan Buddhism. His Holiness himself was educated by teachers who venerated Dorje Shugden and admits to formerly doing the same. Quite suddenly a decision is made to end this practise. When questioned about the violence committed against adherents to this now heretical entity the Dalai Lama says "rumours and lies" and yet many have fled persecution and violence and it seems implausible he would be unaware of this. He states it is a matter of choice but the vote will see large numbers of followers forced to change or be asked to leave. The referendum is not just asking "do we stop officially worshipping Dorje Shugden?" but also "do we want to cohabit with these people who will not change?". So a practice centuries old is suddenly totally intolerable? The Chinese Government steps in and offers help, most certainly to discredit the Dalai Lama but is it surprising that desperate and marginalised people seek help anywhere it can be found? A "referendum" may have the character of democracy but when the questions excommunicate vast numbers of monks who as a matter of faith wish to continue worshipping Dolgyal and creates a vast schism, one has to wonder if this could not have happened with more diplomacy and loving compassion? If choice is do as I say or leave the Sangha is that really a choice or coercion?

    • @Jahtso
      @Jahtso 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey everyone, look at this guy's mental gymnastics! He should get a gold medal at the Olympics for his amazing leaps of logic!
      It's quite simple that a referendum in Tibetan monasteries would result in a peaceful solution. You imply that the "vast numbers of monks" who venerate the Shugden ghost would be extremely punished. The referendum is made to show that there aren't many Shugden supporters in even the Gelug monasteries. Most Shugden supporters are non-genuine Dharma practitioners or Western Buddhists led astray by Tibetan Buddhist LARPs.
      When you tout the status of the Shugden worship as being "centuries old", you seem completely ignorant of they violence they especially wreaked upon other schools of Buddhism, in particular the Guru Rinpoche loving, Dzogchen adhering Nyingmapas. They have destroyed non-Gelugpas and even have gone after their own Gelugpas that they condemn as doctrine mixers. HHDL hit the nail on the head when he said the issue has remained a subtle issue for centuries up until the late 20th century. Even when Tibet was an independent country from 1913 to 1950, the Dhogyal practitioners held high seats in the 14th Dalai Lama's regency and took big part in political scandals. I recommend that you take His Holiness's advice and become educated on both sides before making such a bold stance on a foundation of ignorance.

    • @TheArtofEngineering
      @TheArtofEngineering 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You start this response with what I am assuming is sarcasm, and accuse me of ignorance but don't address my key points. Buddhism (at least at its Therevada roots) allows for SELF examination of Dharma and the freedom to accept or dismiss aspects if they fail personal examination. It should never be about dogma.
      You say the referendum is to showcase these Shugden followers as a minority, which they very well might be, but when did being in minority justify persecution?
      Peaceful solution? For whom? Not the Shugden practitioners who will be dismissed from the organisation that is their home and sanctuary and who HAVE been, and continue to be shamed and unaccepted for their beliefs.
      If practitioners of Shugden have been involved in political misdeeds in the past, does this mean every person who holds these beliefs is evil or wrong? Big problem then for any Catholics in the world, as they ALL are held to account for the inquisition!
      IN the present moment I see people who hold a dear and solemn belief and who have done nothing wrong being asked to STOP this belief, but you can't switch off a belief. What harm have these individuals committed?
      I'm not a Tibetan Buddhist, I respect His Holiness but I don't understand his reasoning on this issue. I also respect your choice and decision to agree with the Dalai Lama, but I'm disappointed and saddened by the sarcasm and ill will you directed towards me.
      So please enlighten me. How have the monks and Ma and Pa worshippers of this protective entity warranted such poor treatment? (previous historical political scandal will not do as a reason as it happens on all sides in the machinations of leadership).
      What is to become of the monks who wish to maintain their beliefs and traditions?
      Why has this now become of such importance?
      I didn't take a "position" on this issue, I simply asked questions, most of which went unanswered. I can tell this is a vexatious issue. I can tell it is not being approached with equanimity.
      I respectfully remain unconvinced that this is not dogmatic persecution.

    • @Jahtso
      @Jahtso 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheArtofEngineering Fully agree that Buddhism isn't about dogma and is about questioning everything. I don't quite see what the point in bringing that up is though, the Dalai Lama is about as anti-dogma as it gets. It's the Shugden party that is pro-dogma, constantly whinging about religious persecution when no one is stopping them, then getting in bed with the CCP out of a common goal of opposing His Holiness.
      It doesn't justify persecution. So isn't it nice and fair of the Dalai Lama that he doesn't actually persecute these Shugden followers? He just disavows the spirit and doesn't recommend it being practiced due to its violent, sectarian nature. He has specified that Tibetans may if they want, but from his POV it's not worth it. Sounds like a fair stance to me.
      No one is pinning all Shugden violence (of which there is A LOT) on modern day Shugden worshippers. That's a blatant strawman.
      I have been to many a Tibetan in-exile settlement, and not a single person worships Shugden, even the Gelugpa Tibetans. They have clearly chosen His Holiness over the cult of a single minor and very hateful deity. I don't know where you get this idea that there's many of these poor Ma and Pa Shugden followers, or many Shugden-loving monks who are now frightened and confused at this horrific betrayal by the supposedly evil Dalai Lama. Do you have polls or statistics to prove the fact that there even are regular joe Shugden lovers who exist? It's not surprising to me that you're so vague about how horribly these people are being treated, because it's quite clear that they just don't exist, and the persecution of a group that doesn't even exist needs to be described in only vague terms. You tell me. Have Shugden monks been driven out of their own monasteries in droves by angry Dalai Lama lovers with sticks and rocks? Have Shugden statues been taken from Shugden loving people by the Dalai Lama clique and smashed to pieces out of hate? What even happens to these people to you, assuming they even exist? I think you're talking about things you don't know about, and you need to recheck the story you have convinced yourself of. Maybe it is you who needs to respect the religious freedom of Tibetans.

      This series by Swiss Public TV finds multiple instances of persecution.
      If this deity is EVIL then the masters who taught his holiness were deluded and this calls to question his own grounding in the faith.
      I know this whole affair has centuries of nuanced debate and problems. I know that some Shugden practitioners have accepted help from the CCP (something I find problematic) but to deny any wrongdoing or behaviour towards followers of Shugden is a lie. The "strawman" is the belief that violence has only been one sided. YES the Dalai Lama doesn't persecute (he doesn't have to, his friends do it for him and he denies it happens).
      Tibetans in exile are predominantly NOT Shugden (TRUE) but like I said being a minority doesn't make them wrong or evil. The fact that these settlements have little or no Shugden practitioners proves my point as they have been mostly driven out.
      As for smashed statues, what happened to all the previous icons to this deity? Did they sell the on Ebay? They were disposed of like they were rubbish.
      Practice as you please but I know persecution and dogma when I see it.

    • @Jahtso
      @Jahtso 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheArtofEngineering Again, I asked for polls or statistics. Where is your data showing that these supposedly persecuted groups even exist?
      Never said it evil. I said it was used for sectarian violence by Gelugpas. Even the Dalai Lama has practiced it as he was taught in Lhasa in a Gelug, and upon further inspection he decided that it was for the good of all Tibetans to drop the practice from mainstream Tibetan Buddhism, though he doesn't demand people stop, which he couldn't do so meaningfully even if he wanted to.
      Thank you for admitting that the Dalai Lama doesn't persecute anyone! Glad we got that out of the way.
      Lmao so you think that because there are no Shugden supporters in in-exile Tibetan colonies, that means they were driven out? When they did flee this horrible religious persecution you are claiming happens? To where did they flee the evil Dalai Lama's wrath? I said it before and will say it again: you are super vague. Obviously you are vague because these supposed Shugden loving victims never existed.
      It is not a surprise no one believes the Shugden "camp", if it can even be called that. Shugden organizations are non-Tibetan businesses made up of mostly Chinese and Western members with a few token Tibetan faces and names. They have zero evidence to back up any claims of supposedly terrible religious persecution by the Tibetan in-exile community, whose main goal by the way is Tibetan unity. It makes no sense why a group that wants unity would focus hatred out of no where for such a specific subgroup of themselves. In the end, no one deserves religious persecution and it's good that there's no active campaign by the Dalai Lama to persecute any Buddhist school. Very noble of His Holiness to constantly reiterate that people may practice what they want to practice, even if it doesn't follow his advice or opinion.

However, there is also the fact that people display signs for them not to enter shops, medical facilities and so on, the fact that they cannot get government jobs, and the fact that they have their monasteries taken over by force, and their names posted on the CTA website if they bring this up, etc, etc. Furthermore, in reference to your comment, in this video the Dalai Lama tells Shugden worshippers they can go back to China. Dolgyal is a non-existent spirit invented by the Dalai Lama to promote religious discrimination. Even though this spirit doesn’t exist at all, the Dalai Lama is falsely promoting the view that the Wisdom Dharma Protector is the same mental continuum as this this spirit.
    As a result of promoting this view the religious freedom of millions of people throughout the world has been destroyed. I wish you would study on this more. On Facebook there is a group called "Exposing the New Kadampa Tradition" I have read many of the links they put up and I now realize it is not the Dalai Lama that is the problem by Gelsang Gyatso. Dolgyal is just a name for Dorje Shugden. Amnesty international investigated "human rights abuses" against Shugden supporters and found no evidence of what is being said. Any monastery can restrict the members to ones that believe as the monastery does. And in this video HH said he wanted everyone to vote on the practice of Dorje Shugden so how is he banning it? Also if you want to see where this "lying" thing came about check out, "An unholy row" on TH-cam. Gyatso says something like, "We sent many letters to Dalai Lama to ask him to explain what they problem with Shugden is and he never responded. So Westerners started to believe that he lied". Now, there is no lie there!
