As someone who works at an old fashioned book shop, I can't tell you the number of times I've opened an old volume to find pressed flowers between the pages and browning on the paper in the outline of the plant. This is a lovely tutorial!

I will definitely be trying this out! I am currently in the process of decorating my room and this will be a perfect addition. It will also be fun to try out the glue recipe; how neat to use the same glue that someone else would have more than 100 years ago! Thank you for sharing, I get a lot of enjoyment from your content.

This video unlocked a chilhood memory: I used to dry flowers with my mom (this same technique). I still finding those flowers inside the books, after 20 years

I bought a book published in 1887 recently. I opened it the day after watching this wonderful episode to find...a fern tucked inside the pages. It had clearly been there a very long time, so long that there was a perfect imprint of it staining the pages. Although I enjoy all of your episodes, such a magical coincidence has made this one that I especially cherish.

What a fabulous recreation! I loved learning how even fern motifs became trendy in decor and art, as well as the actual plants! Just like succulents, today. 😄

That was great! Ive done research into Victorians and their fascination with ferns. The kit I ended up with is, a vasculum to collect and transport botanicals and cyanotype to make prints of them. These go hand in hand with this hobby.

You just reminded me that I have some leftover blue Inkodye in a cupboard somewhere (it's a light activated dye that gives a cyanotype-look to fabric). I think some fern print pillows are in my future!
