I assume that the folding wings is not an option on the kit?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..!!! Oh, thank you, that made my day! Wing fold? My, oh my. No, there's no wing fold. This is very much a 1982 type of Airfix kit. The airbrake can be open. There are no flap options. But you can have the undercarriage up or down - I guess that's cool, right? I wonder if Airfix were caught out and Paramount offered the licence to anyone who wanted to buy one, rather than going with an exclusive manufacturer (which would have been Revell probably). Airfix then had to rebadge their old Hornet and hope for the best. Then the film was delayed by two years anyway...

Airfix will have paid a fortune for the Top Gun licensing -- do you suppose they could have applied it to more than the box arr?

Legacy Hornet ?? Oh dear , oh dear . could they have not done a SuperHornet , just to be correct ??
A Super Hornet that they could have sold as an F/A-18E, and an F/A-18F with a bit of work, then an EF-18G, already four kits from one CAD background... especially as the USN doesn't really fly any other type of jet these days.
