This song I sang with my boys choir in the 6th grade at my mother's funeral. We sang it with sheet music as we had never sung the song before with my season of the choir. I had always loved the song before so I felt joy and comfort that I could sing it with my choir at my mother's funeral. I love you and miss you mom.
Isa Adi Cakobau School, Fiji...the melodious harmony of my senior girls, singing this hymn during our morning assemblies or church services. What great memories 😥
Lift thine eyes to the mountains, whence cometh help. Thy help cometh from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He hath said, thy foot shall not be moved; thy Keeper will never slumber.
We sang this song while in High School. We had the best music teacher Ms. Hobday ❤❤❤

Doing a double trio of this song for Solo and Ensemble. Beautiful singing, by the way!
Lift thine eyes to the mountains,
whence cometh help.
Thy help cometh from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He hath said, thy foot shall not be moved;
thy Keeper will never slumber.

Lovely, but why is the tempo so rushed?
That is likely just the way they sang the song.
Tempo marking is andante-eight-note=100. I checked this recording with a metronome and it’s the closest to 100 I’ve watched.
