    • @papi_dummy

      in specific he's talking about vanguard communism where a small group of people spread the ideology, adding new people to the vanguard who in turn spread the ideology, until everyone in the working class is a member of the vanguard and fit to be a part of the "dictatorship of the proletariat." it's necessary for revolution and for the aftermath of the revolution, because if one holds that power one must have the knowledge to use it effectively

    What's interesting about this is that Fred is not preaching blind allegiance to "leaders" as so many of the lost are doing today. He's telling you to think, use your brain. Few people today are giving the youth credit to have the sense to do this.

    He seemed like such a real dude... intelligent, passionate and well spoken. I first learned about COINTELPRO and the murder of this young man in college and I didn't believe it at first. I remember being pissed at my professor for even suggesting our government was capable of that until I continued to read about it. It was because of that story that I remain incredibly skeptical about the police's official reports on guys like Freddy Grey and Michael Brown and all the countless other cases of police brutality.

I am sure there are still young people as informed and smart as Fred Hampton around today but the current global socio economic and political environment has caused many to become apethetic. His words are still very much relevant to this day. Why? Not because he was ahead of his time as so many of us like to say, but because there has been no fundamental change. The means of the system may have been tweak via reforms, but ends of the system is very much the same. When this is so, an analysis of this system will always hold relevancy no matter when it was given. Continue resting in power, comrade Fred Hampton!

    I see people pointing out the fact that he was so young, as if he was an anomaly. His political understanding however is a result of the same Political education he spoke about. While his charisma and ambition propelled him into leadership his clarity was refined by the Black Panther Party.

    Long live the struggle of black people!

    I am a Kenyan and i can tell you Johnston Kamau aka Jomo Kenyatta did not form the MAU MAU....He was actually against it until 1952. That's a misconception that needs to be corrected. And he was very educated. The British sent him to Europe to groom him to serve their interests once they left the Kenyan colony

    • @Shadowstar1922
      @Shadowstar1922 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fred Hampton's political time was the late 1960s so I think being 10+ after MAU was for it, he's good to say what he said. maybe im wrong.

    • @JohnnyFriendly

      Fred Hampton's point was that Kenyatta had the WRONG education, he was not educated to think in terms of community, empathy and social justice. This lack of genuine education meant that he easily devolved into a self-serving dictator leaving the average Kenyan no more better off than before. Just because someone went to a posh university, doesn't mean they are educated.

      How do you think that happened? You blaming young people today for 50 years of the intentional coordinated dismantling, disarming, jailing, murdering, and political persecution of all the freedom fighters who actually organized and taught young people to organize? I'm 39 and I'm tired of hearing this.

      fred acknowledges the reason. education. specific to the revolution, political and economic education. they dont teach marx in school and the capitalist dont want them to. theres a war against US public schools. capitalist dont want to fund them, they want to profit off school with their private institutions. and what do you think the rhetoric is in those classes?

    "But the Black Panthers did influence more Marxist/Socialistic beliefs on the black community today, that really didn't benefit blacks in anyway." Those programs fed fellow Blacks and provided services that allowed them to rely on their community and not government. Now we have greater government dependency.
