I enjoy your videos and have been learning a lot about my trauma issues I need to deal with. Now I’m asking myself, “was I a rebound for him in a previous relationship?” We were together every day for eight months. We did everything together, I met all his immediate family. Things started to fall apart when his mom came to visit for the summer. How would I know? I’m not sure when he and his previous girlfriend before me had broken up. Is it possible that he jumps from rebound to rebound? That’s a very scary thought to process. Anyone have any thoughts on this one?
Yessir they always fail , we are kings👑!! God didn’t put them together, rebound are bandaids relationship they don’t work out. Exes dont work on themselves, they look for quick fix. Remember put God first and work on you 💪🏾. They will look back and regret when you level up and pass them.
So, in a rebound, they'll either pick low hanging fruit...or someone with high value. The low hanging fruit person will smother them or generally be disappointing. The high value person will see their rubbish super fast and end it because people like them are a dime a dozen... Either way, it'll suck. Enjoy. 😂 And if they come back, you won't want them any more if you've done the work on yourself. Work hard. Don't settle.

It’s so traumatic seeing your first love of over 4 years with somebody else, just a few weeks after our breakup. It’s like I meant nothing to him :( I don’t even want him back, but how can somebody be so cruel?

I totally feel you. Today is supposed to be our 4th year anniversary but 4 months ago i broke up with him because he wasn't making me his priority. We were still talking til January 1st and we still had plans. He just wanted to fix himself because he feels he has nothing to offer to our relationship. Come Jan2-10 he stopped communicating. I let him be because I thought we needed space. Then I saw he was tagged on Facebook and he was with another girl. I messaged him and he told me they are going out. The last time I heard they are already together. How could he just throw away our 4years. He has moved on just like that when back in December we were still making plans. My ex broke up with me in January. She hooked up with someone else after a few weeks. They lasted for 4 months and she broke it off with him. Then she came running back to me. We hooked up for a few months and dated. Then she met some random dude in Vegas and totally fell for this guy, enough to brush me aside. Fucking bitch. But hey we’ll see how long that will last. I’m not gonna wait around for her though. I’ve already unfollowed her on social media. I did a coaching session with Craig the other day and I feel soooo much better about where I stand. He made me see value in myself.
Remember your own personal growth is more important than the rebound. A rebound is the way to stunt your growth and it stunts their growth as well. Often the rebound can be to make you jealous or push you away and its better to just let it push you into your own growth
My ex's "rebound" was over very quickly. But he still hasn't come back around to me. I've given up on that idea and I'm 100% committed to actually GETTING OVER him.

I found out why my ex ghosted me when I saw he was in a new relationship and posted this to Facebook after he unfriended me. I am grateful for these videos and the workbooks because its helping me focus on being the best me I can be so when I do get over this breakup I can either move on with someone new with a better chance of succeeding or having the skills to work it out with this weasle if I can ever find it in my heart to forgive him for how he hurt me if he does come crawling back after the love high wears off with the new girlfriend

It would be very wrong for me not to come back and comment this, when I know I would’ve needed to hear this at the time. The person my ex dated right after me didn’t last. It didn’t. They dated (for as far as social media could tell) for 8 months, but ended shortly after. No my ex didn’t come back for me after that relationship, but they did end, and I did scrutinize over something that ultimately wasn’t a huge problem. Craig is right-most likely it won’t last. Many dumpers date right away and don’t even take the time to improve their faults and shortcomings. So the problems reoccur in other relationships until they do. If you’re doing the work, you have a greater chance of your relationships succeeding than your ex’s likely!
My ex and their rebound reached the four months mark and mutual friends are telling me that it is not going that well. As I am staying strong in no contact I am sitting, waiting and seeing and working on myself. Plus, my ex reaches out every third day but I stay strong in no contact (until the rebound will go away)...It is working friends. I want to believe your knowledge and insight yet I know that the people around me whose exes got into rebounds haven't been broken up with their rebound partner or even if they have, it took them longer time than a short term relationship. yes that does bother me but you also gotta remember your ex most likely had sex also with the person they were dating before they met you (if they did happen to be in a relationship before you) but it still can be bothersome of course.

It's been hard. We were together for nearly 8 months & I was giving him every bit of me, only for him to turn around and rebound into a relationship and be "in love" with this new girl, posting pics of them and taking her on trips. It makes me bitter and I'm crushed
I dated a girl for 3 months we really liked each other everything was going good until we started to have problems. So instead of working out our issues she decided to break things off with me and not even 2/3 weeks later she has a new boyfriend. It's funny to me because while we were dating she claimed she had serious feelings for me, was in love with me etc.... So the fact that she was able to move on so fast let's me know she was talking to this guy while we were still dating. I feel like I wasted time and money dealing with this girl. Lesson learned in this situation is to never get your hopes up to high for someone, always leave room for disappointment, focus on your purpose and live life💯
Hi Craig and Margaret. I am form believer that everything happens for a reason. If it was not my break-up, I would never find you and would never be able to learn those amazing things you teach. It's been 4 month already since break up and I am finally at peace. I have learned that I have an anxious attachment style and as you always say, knowing the problem helped me to calm my anxiety in a big way. I am happy because no matter if my girlfriend comes back or not, I will be able to be a great parent when I have a child. I know what mistakes I should avoid and how to make my future child securely attached person. Thanks to you! I think that this is a main priority. Great video and it’s also helpful to know this. However, it is devastating for us, the dumpee, to think and know that our ex’s are in a rebound and I’m sure they feel the same way too with us.
My ex broke up with me on December 6, 2018 and was in a rebound 14 days later. She tried to tell me she did not meet him until we were broken up. We had been together for almost two years. She called me after her first date with him to tell me he had manhandled her and had to fight him off. I stayed with her all night and consoled her. About a week later she asked me to go on a weekend trip with her to Denver and from her conversation it was clear she really only wanted me to go for hooking up. It was during our discussion she confessed she was still seeing the rebound and had forgiven him because she said he was sorry ‘25’ times. Though I am struggling with the emotions of having lost the woman I loved, I am dealing with knowing she had someone lined up while we were together and then not only use me for comfort but also attempted for her own gratification without any regard for my feelings or emotions.

My ex started seeing a different guy within a month of us splitting! Within two months I was getting pictures on my fb news feed of her, her son, this guy, her family and his kid! My ex lined someone up from his work and they quickly moved in and now they are engaged...smh. He contacted me for my birthday and sent me his new #. Then we contacted 2weeks later. He added sayin that he hopes im ok. I said i was great but thats it. Ive stuck with NC cuz i feel that he wants me to reach out since he did give me his number but im not gonna fall for his old tricks. I know he has to feel guilty and ashamed of the anxious damage he caused. I actually feel sooo much better about myself. Im motivated into my studies again and ive been exercising.
Unfortunately your case is more cheating than rebound. Rebounds are people they get into a relationship with some time after the breakup. If your ex lined someone up, they must have been talking for some time. I still think they have the potential to breakup though.

We were 4yrs together, engaged and recently moved to better our future. Its been 5months since the breakup. They moved in together not even a month after the breakup and got engaged last month. He is anxious, always had wanted things to be easy and would get desperate when it wasnt, a constant wanting for instant gratification. He would be manipulative, insecure and lashing out, also gas lighting. He did make efforts to better his behavior but he lacked consistancy. I do deserve better and better will come. This breakup did hurt me but im not broken, I still have love for myself, he doesnt love himself enough and is codependant expecting others to make him happy. I even heard that he lashed out at her 4months ago so its gonna be his same problems but with a different person...smh. I learned alot though this experience. I gave him one too many chances for him to than end things how he did, but now i know that he couldnt handle his constant guilt and bad choices so he ran thinking he can escape his problems. He just doesnt realize that "where ever he goes he takes himself with him."
But Coach, your example was not a rebound - it was a cheater. Let'em attach to the new person. I would NEVER take a cheater back. This wasn't a case of breaking up first and then meeting a new person, this was blatent cheating.
My ex went to a rebound a month after he broke up, n started posting indirect stuff on his FB about how in love he is. The girl is a complete opposite of me, very young n naive, and its so weird to even think of him with such a young girl. His sister asked him about if he is with this girl or not and he was all like noo, nothing like that. But when I confronted him about it he was telling me how happy he is with her, n how she ‘understands’ him lmao, cause apparently she understands him within a month which I couldn’t do in 4 years. He also lashed out at me when I confronted him about it, saying this girl will love him the way I didn’t. I’ve been beating myself up cause he has made me the victim of the breakup, but I slowly am realising how much I let him get away with throughout the relationship n how little value he put on me by ending it n moving on so quick. My best revenge is gonna be when I become the best version of me and will be super indifferent towards him and his bullshit. I just pray he realises then what he gave up on 🙏🏽
2 of hers has already, she's on the 3rd one now in under 4 months. I'm here chilling working on myself after she broke it up after 2 years 9 months. I can't help but laugh since each one has been a close friend of hers, she acts like each one is really meant to be.
Seems like she is trying to live out some fantasy. She probably thinks she needs to find Prince charming or "the one". When reality sets in she just moves on. Pretty sad.
That's exactly how it was, she's had a lot of childhood traumas and really tries to hold it down. She's scared of people leaving her life but when they do she puts up huge walls and it's hard for her to let her guards down. She felt like I was leaving her and didn't care, but I always loved her and told her and showed her that every chance I could, but I was working crazy hours for so long we didn't see each other as much, it was killing her. And me, I knew it was straining especially for her but I knew we could pull through. Well her friends started telling her things and that she didn't have to put up with me being away all the time and 'not making time' for her or maybe I was with someone else, it sucked. But she was super obsessed and was waiting her whole days just for me. In the end I hoped the breakup could help clear our minds and just work on ourselves to go back stronger and work on the problems, but she was already putting up her walls about me, worst feeling ever. She hasn't even had a chance to really look at the breakup, she's trying to cover it and really keep doing the things you mentioned, I know it's gonna hurt her a lot in the end. (Sorry for the paragraphs lol, but thought more insight would useful, I know I look through people's comments to try and relate a lot. Hopefully mine was helpful to someone out there.)
This is like my exact situation right now it sucks and it’s long distance to make it worse but you guys give me hope :) I watch your videos and podcast everyday it makes me feel better either way, I’m just working on myself and see what happens thank you guys for everything you do it helps more then you know !! My 5 yr. relationship ended in April 2020 and with in 2 wks she had met and been out with another guy. Complete devastation. Your video gave me some solace but the notion of them potentially returning concerns me. I certainly reflect on the reasons why it ended and the issues we had. I feel we lack compatibility in some areas despite the length of time we dated. Now seeing her behavior after our split really creates doubt and trust issues for me. I don't know if I could do it again with her.

My ex of nearly 12 years, found someone online during covid lockdown. He would say he was missing and loved me, but to my surprise he met this "married woman" (whose husband had left her for a younger woman) anyway, she moved in within a couple of months with him and now is 6 months... we did not contact obviously because he chose not to as he started this relationship as if I have never existed!!! I’m just anxious and I want to comment bc it makes me feel better. It’s so weird bc I don’t even want her back, I don’t think we’d be healthy. But I STILL get anxious to the core when I see her date someone else. I guess it may be my abandonment wound rearing it’s ugly head at me, though I thought I had mostly overcame it. I am an African stduying in Austria. My Ex and I met and live in the same dorm. We broke up not long ago. She went to spend sometime at her sisters` place. I went into no contact mode. Wish you could do a video on being the rebound... I would like to know the likely hood of an ex revisiting that relationship and coming back? Are the tables likely to turn? It seems like in every new relationship everyone is set up like a rebound from the last person they've dated. Dated a girl for four months, said she loved etc, talked about a future together, said I was the best man she's ever been with and now she's trying to work things out with the ex (they have a child together). From her account he was verbally abusive and an alcoholic but manipulated and guilted her constantly. Things happened fast between us and obviously was not completely over him despite her assurance. She seems to be not the type to reach back out even if she wanted to. I've been in NC for over a month now. Her dad said she was trying to work things out with the ex or else I wouldn't have known. It's been extremely painful, I really thought it was something special, she assured me I wasn't a rebound and this wasn't the case, don't know what to think anymore. I still miss her tremendously and have questioned whether NC is the right move, I believed it was something special and still do and I just don't want to make a mistake by not reaching out and seeing how she's doing and being casual with her not interrogate her over it. Unfortunately I did plead a bit and I think she may think if she were to reach back out I'd expect an immediate relationship out of it, even though I wouldn't nor would be able to anyhow until I was ready. My Ex is an avoidant and she's now totally dedicated in flirting with this one particular guy just three weeks after our break-up. They're at it for almost a month now. Knowing attachment styles, it's either the guy is Secured and will be turned-off of her avoidance, or the new guy is Anxious and she'll be turned off with his clinginess. In case that they are both avoidant though, they're both subjected to each others' sabotaging ploys. I feel sorry for the Avoidant, but I'll just go focus on myself instead of worrying about whether they will fail or actually succeed And also something to comfort us broken up with, our partners are just HIGH with those Happy Hormones. But what if your ex has a dependent personality disorder and anxious attachment? How are rebounds affected by that? In my case I feel, for my ex's rebound to fail the rebound guy has to end it. My ex hates being alone and needs someone to attach to, whether she is happy with or not. My ex and I had a 5 year relationship and I ended it coz I felt she was unhappy in it. She was depressed for almost 6 months. Now she is so happy and out of depression with this new guy.

How about a video that speaks to long term marriages that end because of an affair and the spouse goes on to marry the affair partner right after the divorce is final. I never see anyone speak about those circumstances, it always seems to be shorter term relationships and/or non marriages, and younger couples People think its devastating after a few years, try it when your in your fifties or sixties and have 20 plus years invested, as they say the struggle is REAL ! Cindy L Carrasco interesting question in my opinion getting divorced after twenty years and moving on has no hidden agenda or games in this persons mind. It's straight up the person has given his or her best and is now genuinely tired of trying to make it work anymore so has moved on to feel loved and appreciated. It's for real has nothing to do with rebound or any other stuff. I guess it's simple psychology to see through that.
I was married throughout my entire 20's and early 30's. He married the girl I thought was just a rebound. I don't feel there is much of a distinction between 20 years and 4-5 years (just an example). You still invest a lot and you still feel as devastated. It's safe to say once your ex has remarried the only thing you can do is move on. Thankfully I was over him when he remarried, but that took time.

Me and my ex broke up five weeks ago. We entered into a rocky path in January 2020 - I messed up and I went on tinder to check our old messages, she saw and thought I was messaging other women. She said she needed space and I bombarded her with calls and texts to save the relationship. She said she "no longer knew me" and that I had changed. Then came three months of trying again, where, when we saw each other, we were like normal - she even said she felt in love again. But, her excuse was that this just felt like a sticking plaster over the issue. I must confess, I was insecure and needy, for example, I checked her phone like 4-5 times during our year-long relationship for my own peace of mind because I do have OCD and anxiety which shouldn't be an excuse. I know you can't do that, and she said I made her feel guilty for going out with her friends (I was sad I wasn't with her, but I'd never stop her going out). She said we didn't communicate well and that we were incompatible. We had 2 two-hour long phone calls on the day we broke up where I apologised and told her the mistakes wouldn't happen again, but that she has totally moved on and doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. I felt heartbroken, she was so cold and appeared completely different from when we were going out. She was so insecure when we were together - each day she'd have something else to hate about herself and I was there to support her all the time. In fact, she mentioned that we felt like friends for the past few months not a couple, and that we didn't have 'banter' anymore. But, my point was the fact that I felt I couldn't have banter with her because she would take it the wrong way, particularly when she felt so low about herself all the time. It's been five weeks of no contact, but yesterday I found out she is in a relationship with another guy - just five weeks after we ended!!! She had clearly already emotionally cheated on me behind my back whilst I was trying to patch things up, because the change in behaviour was instant.I feel sick, I feel lost and empty, I feel like someone has died. I miss her so much, but she clearly spent those three months getting over me whilst I continuously tried to patch things up. Another thing though, she removed me on all social media, yet she continues to stalk me on Instagram - she views my stories all the time. I know that if she was in a relationship with me, I would hate her doing that to her ex, so just why is she continuing with that behaviour?
I don't even think he lusts after her. He doesn't flirt with her or talk all lovey-dovey like he used to with me. He doesn't seem to give her any attention. Same boat. My wife of 9 years wanted out and within a week she is with someone one else. my ex begged me to marry her until the very end of our relationship. a few months later and she's living with another man. I don't know how to come to terms with that. She tends to move fast and I see her marrying him within a year. I was a jerk at the end and this guy rolls up and treats her better. Hey Craig , me and my ex girlfriend were together close to 3 years. We broke up in may but continued to see eachother throughout summer. It’s so traumatic seeing your first love of over 4 years with somebody else, just a few weeks after our breakup. It’s like I meant nothing to him :( I don’t even want him back, but how can somebody be so cruel?

I totally feel you. Today is supposed to be our 4th year anniversary but 4 months ago i broke up with him because he wasn't making me his priority. We were still talking til January 1st and we still had plans. He just wanted to fix himself because he feels he has nothing to offer to our relationship. Come Jan2-10 he stopped communicating. No my ex didn’t come back for me after that relationship, but they did end, and I did scrutinize over something that ultimately wasn’t a huge problem.
Craig is right-most likely it won’t last. Many dumpers date right away and don’t even take the time to improve their faults and shortcomings. So the problems reoccur in other relationships until they do.

I dated a girl for 3 months we really liked each other everything was going good until we started to have problems. So instead of working out our issues she decided to break things off with me and not even 2/3 weeks later she has a new boyfriend. It's funny to me because while we were dating she claimed she had serious feelings for me, was in love with me etc.... So the fact that she was able to move on so fast let's me know she was talking to this guy while we were still dating. I feel like I wasted time and money dealing with this girl. Lesson learned in this situation is to never get your hopes up to high for someone, always leave room for disappointment, focus on your purpose and live life💯

Great video and it’s also helpful to know this. However, it is devastating for us, the dumpee, to think and know that our ex’s are in a rebound and I’m sure they feel the same way too with us.
My ex broke up with me on December 6, 2018 and was in a rebound 14 days later. She tried to tell me she did not meet him until we were broken up. We had been together for almost two years. She called me after her first date with him to tell me he had manhandled her and had to fight him off. I stayed with her all night and consoled her.
About a week later she asked me to go on a weekend trip with her to Denver and from her conversation it was clear she really only wanted me to go for hooking up. It was during our discussion she confessed she was still seeing the rebound and had forgiven him because she said he was sorry ‘25’ times.
Though I am struggling with the emotions of having lost the woman I loved, I am dealing with knowing she had someone lined up while we were together and then not only use me for comfort but also attempted for her own gratification without any regard for my feelings or emotions.

Unfortunately your case is more cheating than rebound. Rebounds are people they get into a relationship with some time after the breakup. If your ex lined someone up, they must have been talking for some time. I still think they have the potential to breakup though.

My ex went to a rebound a month after he broke up, n started posting indirect stuff on his FB about how in love he is. The girl is a complete opposite of me, very young n naive, and its so weird to even think of him with such a young girl. His sister asked him about if he is with this girl or not and he was all like noo, nothing like that. But when I confronted him about it he was telling me how happy he is with her, n how she ‘understands’ him lmao, cause apparently she understands him within a month which I couldn’t do in 4 years. He also lashed out at me when I confronted him about it, saying this girl will love him the way I didn’t.

2 of hers has already, she's on the 3rd one now in under 4 months. I'm here chilling working on myself after she broke it up after 2 years 9 months. I can't help but laugh since each one has been a close friend of hers, she acts like each one is really meant to be.
Seems like she is trying to live out some fantasy. She probably thinks she needs to find Prince charming or "the one". When reality sets in she just moves on. Pretty sad.
That's exactly how it was, she's had a lot of childhood traumas and really tries to hold it down. She's scared of people leaving her life but when they do she puts up huge walls and it's hard for her to let her guards down. She felt like I was leaving her and didn't care, but I always loved her and told her and showed her that every chance I could, but I was working crazy hours for so long we didn't see each other as much, it was killing her. And me, I knew it was straining especially for her but I knew we could pull through. Well her friends started telling her things and that she didn't have to put up with me being away all the time and 'not making time' for her or maybe I was with someone else, it sucked. But she was super obsessed and was waiting her whole days just for me. In the end I hoped the breakup could help clear our minds and just work on ourselves to go back stronger and work on the problems, but she was already putting up her walls about me, worst feeling ever. She hasn't even had a chance to really look at the breakup, she's trying to cover it and really keep doing the things you mentioned, I know it's gonna hurt her a lot in the end.

Wish you could do a video on being the rebound... I would like to know the likely hood of an ex revisiting that relationship and coming back? Are the tables likely to turn? It seems like in every new relationship everyone is set up like a rebound from the last person they've dated. Dated a girl for four months, said she loved etc, talked about a future together, said I was the best man she's ever been with and now she's trying to work things out with the ex (they have a child together). From her account he was verbally abusive and an alcoholic but manipulated and guilted her constantly. Things happened fast between us and obviously was not completely over him despite her assurance. She seems to be not the type to reach back out even if she wanted to. I've been in NC for over a month now. Her dad said she was trying to work things out with the ex or else I wouldn't have known. It's been extremely painful, I really thought it was something special, she assured me I wasn't a rebound and this wasn't the case, don't know what to think anymore. I still miss her tremendously and have questioned whether NC is the right move, I believed it was something special and still do and I just don't want to make a mistake by not reaching out and seeing how she's doing and being casual with her not interrogate her over it. Unfortunately I did plead a bit and I think she may think if she were to reach back out I'd expect an immediate relationship out of it, even though I wouldn't nor would be able to anyhow until I was ready. I think this may be a reason why she wouldn't reach out, she would think I would take it a particular way in immediately trying to get back together. I know it wasn't her intention to hurt me, no one has ever been more loving towards me and that's probably why I'm having such a difficult time... Very hurt and having trouble moving on... Any advice would be appreciated

My Ex is an avoidant and she's now totally dedicated in flirting with this one particular guy just three weeks after our break-up. They're at it for almost a month now. Knowing attachment styles, it's either the guy is Secured and will be turned-off of her avoidance, or the new guy is Anxious and she'll be turned off with his clinginess. In case that they are both avoidant though, they're both subjected to each others' sabotaging ploys. I feel sorry for the Avoidant, but I'll just go focus on myself instead of worrying about whether they will fail or actually succeed

I know it's hard not to focus on your ex but this time the focus should be on you. Leave her alone so you can have all the time for self-improvement, this way you can do better when she comes back or when you meet someone else. Rebounds are self-sabotaging because it's foundation is the remains of a failed relationship, even a blind person can see that there's litle chance it will last.

In my case I feel, for my ex's rebound to fail the rebound guy has to end it. My ex hates being alone and needs someone to attach to, whether she is happy with or not.

At the same time he is giving me the feeling that the rebound gets more and more serious as he starts introducing her to some friends. It is horrifiying as I am getting this constant mixed messages thing and also wants to meet up. I am kind of starting to feel like his affair though I have not done anything. It is really weird but I am sure he is not totally happy in the rebound. I have a woman in a professional position locally 5 years older than me, married, who is falling for me and today she touched me more than usual just handing something to her. We've known each other for 2 to 3 years. I believe that it was my first encounter with her 3 years ago that was something I did/said that set her off to accepting/thinking about me and that good first impression has just compounded up until now. I have been away for 3 or 5 months at a time in this time span, but lately I have been consistently seeing her and I just know that she's wanting to get me alone away from everyone. Her voice really turns me on and has always been the kind of voice that turns me on, but she's older than me and I've been with several women and know that I wouldn't care too much for how she looks unclothed. It may not even be considered a rebound depending how short the relationship was. Some people are just on the move, getting into a chain of short relationships, they don't mind if it doesn't get anywhere.

My ex came over recently this past Wednesday July 3rd and the sexual tension was there. How about a video that speaks to long term marriages that end because of an affair and the spouse goes on to marry the affair partner right after the divorce is final. I never see anyone speak about those circumstances, it always seems to be shorter term relationships and/or non marriages, and younger couples People think its devastating after a few years, try it when your in your fifties or sixties and have 20 plus years invested, as they say the struggle is REAL ! Especially when you’ve been married most of your adult life. Waiting to see someone speak to that in one of these TH-cam’s and is it a rebound when they marry the affair partner???
Cindy L Carrasco interesting question in my opinion getting divorced after twenty years and moving on has no hidden agenda or games in this persons mind. It's straight up the person has given his or her best and is now genuinely tired of trying to make it work anymore so has moved on to feel loved and appreciated. It's for real has nothing to do with rebound or any other stuff. I guess it's simple psychology to see through that.
I was married throughout my entire 20's and early 30's. He married the girl I thought was just a rebound. I don't feel there is much of a distinction between 20 years and 4-5 years (just an example). You still invest a lot and you still feel as devastated. It's safe to say once your ex has remarried the only thing you can do is move on. Thankfully I was over him when he remarried, but that took time.

He said he figured our divorce was final. Who cares that we had just taken a week long vacation together and still sleeping together. I was devastated. But it that was 7 months ago now and I’m feeling like I’m in a good place. Still have my moments of feeling abandoned and betrayed. And lots of anger. Married 10 years, couple 12 years and friends 18 years. All down the drain. Oh and he was seeing her on the side come to find out. At their wedding the boasted how they had become friends 6 months prior and developed their long distance relationship over text.
Me and my ex broke up five weeks ago. We entered into a rocky path in January 2020 - I messed up and I went on tinder to check our old messages, she saw and thought I was messaging other women. She said she needed space and I bombarded her with calls and texts to save the relationship. She said she "no longer knew me" and that I had changed.
Then came three months of trying again, where, when we saw each other, we were like normal - she even said she felt in love again. But, her excuse was that this just felt like a sticking plaster over the issue. I must confess, I was insecure and needy, for example, I checked her phone like 4-5 times during our year-long relationship for my own peace of mind because I do have OCD and anxiety which shouldn't be an excuse. I know you can't do that, and she said I made her feel guilty for going out with her friends (I was sad I wasn't with her, but I'd never stop her going out).
She said we didn't communicate well and that we were incompatible. We had 2 two-hour long phone calls on the day we broke up where I apologised and told her the mistakes wouldn't happen again, but that she has totally moved on and doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. I felt heartbroken, she was so cold and appeared completely different from when we were going out.
She was so insecure when we were together - each day she'd have something else to hate about herself and I was there to support her all the time. In fact, she mentioned that we felt like friends for the past few months not a couple, and that we didn't have 'banter' anymore. But, my point was the fact that I felt I couldn't have banter with her because she would take it the wrong way, particularly when she felt so low about herself all the time. It's been five weeks of no contact, but yesterday I found out she is in a relationship with another guy - just five weeks after we ended!!!
She had clearly already emotionally cheated on me behind my back whilst I was trying to patch things up, because the change in behaviour was instant.I feel sick, I feel lost and empty, I feel like someone has died. I miss her so much, but she clearly spent those three months getting over me whilst I continuously tried to patch things up.
Another thing though, she removed me on all social media, yet she continues to stalk me on Instagram - she views my stories all the time. I know that if she was in a relationship with me, I would hate her doing that to her ex, so just why is she continuing with that behaviour?
I don't even think he lusts after her. He doesn't flirt with her or talk all lovey-dovey like he used to with me. He doesn't seem to give her any attention. I honestly just think he got with her because Valentine's Day was coming up and he's using her to fill the void that I used to.. I think he expected me to be chasing him after 2 months of no contact, because we were hot and heavy, but it totally backfired on him.
Now I’m asking myself, “was I a rebound for him in a previous relationship?” We were together every day for eight months. We did everything together, I met all his immediate family. Like damn everything is going really fast for her. I believe it’s known as limerence. Look it up. It’s crazy. Hope this helps. Also this emotion does have stages. I heard it can last up to 2 months to a year. In the mean time just focus on yourself it’s the only thing you can do at this point. If you bother them it will make you the villain.

my ex begged me to marry her until the very end of our relationship. a few months later and she's living with another man. I don't know how to come to terms with that. She tends to move fast and I see her marrying him within a year. I was a jerk at the end and this guy rolls up and treats her better. Hey Craig , me and my ex girlfriend were together close to 3 years. We broke up in may but continued to see eachother throughout summer. I was her brothers best man for wedding in sept after that she got into a full blown relationship with a guy that was a month fresh out of long term relationship himself. They posted every week multiple pictures trips etc to what we use to do. They went really fast , recently the pictures died out and apparently she called him my name at her family Christmas dinner lol.
