Austin, there is NOTHING phoney about you darling. Your voice is soothing and beautiful that you can put me to sleep😴 at the oral surgeon’s office because I’m getting my wisdom teeth🦷 removed in a few weeks again. Yes darling, this is part 2 of the surgery. So far I got the upper wisdom teeth removed last month (April 4) and honestly I can’t help but dislike the procedure because I was awake and OMG the extraction was uncomfortable, but luckily I survived without crying badly. Now in a few weeks I’m having the 2nd surgery for the lower tooth removal and this time I’m gonna be put under so I don’t feel anything because I’ll be asleep. So yes, just listening to your voice can really help me relax when the surgeon / nurses inject💉 or apply whatever medicine to make me fall asleep as soon as the IV sedation or anesthesia kicks in before the surgery begins haha😂 From the bottom of my heart: your voice is perfect no matter what - I ❤ it! That says it all sweetie. Anyways everybody, wish me luck for part 2 wisdom teeth removal. I hope the surgery goes well when that day comes🤞😬
I love his voice no matter what. When I read or heard people complaining about his voice I'm like, "stop, be original". Austin is a very talented actor and all that people have to say is if he is faking his voice or not.
People are spending too much time trying to explain to Austin "how his voice has changed". When they don't have ANY references to what his voice was like just before he started methodically training to get the role. So... what are they going on about? Who cares? He is who he is, he spent YEARS perfecting Elvis, because of INSANE expectations and pressure put on him. He's respectful of Elvis' memories & legacy, and he smashed it out of the park. So give Austin a freaking break. Like he says, he's strained his voice for literally years. His voice needs to heal and is what it is NOW. Often people are super judgemental, without thinking logically. 😂
@@rb1278 yes, of course. The funny part is, ALL the ones "the press" have shown are from him being a teen or young adult. Not from recent years. If the general press asked him this question with recent videos, my comment would be different. 😂

I didn't understand the problem with his voice anyway. First, it needs time to get rid of the Elvis voice, as he had prepared for this role for so long. And, like he said, he's older, of course you will sound different. And no, I don't think he was faking his Elvis voice either.

It's not just the sound of his voice but how he carried his speaking. Obviously here he's more aware and trying to kick it. But all that was constant practiced result ... he did the ultimate method acting achievement. He went so far he needs to condition himself to get out of it.

When I was in JR High I somehow started laughing like Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit was out around then. I took me several months to make myself stop doing it, people kept commenting about it and thought I was doing it on purpose, I wasn't, I just picked it up for some reason.
I find it so weird that people think he’s forcing the voice when he was training for the movie for over 2 years, yeah there’s going to be a hint of Elvis there in his voice for a while whether you like it or not😅
Austin Butler keep the sexy Elvis voice; Elvis was heart throb of 50's and 60's; last few years of Elvis's life I have looked at old pictures of that time frame; believe he had congestive heart failure that was not being treated properly. He was from the pictures in massive fluid overload. Beautiful soul who left this world to early.

Honestly, given how incredible an actor this guy is, I'm not surprised he's retained some of his training/ research. The more roles he plays, the less obvious it will seem. If you train your voice to level where it feels natural to mimic a different voice then it stands to reason that it would take effort to stop doing it, like full immersion in learning another language for several years and then suddenly having to swap back to your original language can take a while to adjust to. The fact that he has strggled with this could be inexperience but I think it's more likely that his acting process requires that after all of his prep, everything about the character should come unconsciously to him, it explains why he is able to full embody characters in a way that many actors can't.
I heard a story on NPR with a vocal coach (his??), that he may never get 'his" voice back and that the Elvis inflection is permanent. You will have to look for that story on NPR. I heard parts in passing.

That's the price of method acting. He spented so much time studying Elvis that a part of him could't get out of character, his mind and voice got so used to it that it became his natural now. Other examples is Heath as Joker and Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, it's really psychological but it doesn't seem to bother him to a point that he should seek help.

I had that from playing an aristicrat where the recieved pronounciation would linger with me even after the performance was over with, this was due to the fact we would constantly rehearse night and day to get into the role which involves litterally meeting up with a dialect or linguistics coach learning to become that character from movement, facial expression and speech. Its starts to consume you as an actor after a while that you begin to mould bits of the character in ones self. To overcome this, it's just the case of doing other roles outside of the role you were doing so for him it'll be going from Memphis to London with the roles but Austin Butler isn't alone in this as even Josh O'Connor spoke like King Charles after he'd finished with the Crown.
I think his voice sounds very cool. I think it's matured like a whisky, red wine or a cheese. I don't have a voice as cool as his. I never have. I have a deep, low pitched voice that can be charismatic when I want it to be but, it's nothing like his.
He doesn't sound as much as elvis as he used to before but there is still a hint of it in his voice.

It's just his voice + a slight hint of Elvis + puberty. After going 3 years of the same voice practice over and over again, It's only normal that it changes under those conditions.
Leave him be. He sounds lovely 🥰
He was awesome as Elvis
its unbelievable that we're still on this
Austin Butler.....Was Brilliant Playing Elvis He Had The Voice & The Moves.....Well Done To Him.......🎤👍👍🙂
exactly my answer, word for word! how long have you been a fan of his?
THE ELVIS FILM WILL NEVER COMPARE TO THE MICHAEL BIOPIC SET TO RELEASE IN 2025! Nice try Austin but you can't even come close! You're not even related to Elvis. Michael is going to have his blood line NEPHEW play him in his biopic. It doesn't get any more royalty than that. How does it feel? And don't think for a second we forgot the executives of 'Elvis' thought it was fitting to release the film the day before Michael's death anniversary on June 25th. You are NOT forgiven for that one. Michael >> Elvis. Long live the King!!
Sigh hes so lovely. All I want in life is to meet and hug him and tell him hes great :(

He has a deep voice
He’s created a voice that makes him 1000x sexier than ever before to every single person he meets. Is it really such a big mystery why he isn’t trying to change it back? 😂

He sounds raspy and i love it
I like his matured husky side of his voice. Very attractive and sexy.
You can tell people have got nothing else to do with their lives when they’re complaining about someone’s voice.
He was talking slower and now he’s back to a normal cadence
Bad it made him feel selves conscious. I love that his voice is alittle Elvish. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think it’s more about the cadence in which he speaks now, that is resembling his Elvis performance. ✨
I even feel sick to death on his behalf, of him being asked this question!
@Williams Cooper all my life probably due to my family! I think it was in everyones record collection!
I love his voice no matter what. When I read or heard people complaining about his voice I'm like, "stop, be original". Austin is a very talented actor and all that people have to say is if he is faking his voice or not.
How long have you been a fan of his?

I love it. I think he should embrace the Elvis 😊
Exactly my answer, word for word! how long have you been a fan of his?
I didn't understand the problem with his voice anyway. First, it needs time to get rid of the Elvis voice, as he had prepared for this role for so long. And, like he said, he's older, of course you will sound different. And no, I don't think he was faking his Elvis voice either.
Best comment ever ❤️

It's not just the sound of his voice but how he carried his speaking. Obviously here he's more aware and trying to kick it. But all that was constant practiced result ... he did the ultimate method acting achievement. He went so far he needs to condition himself to get out of it.

When I was in JR High I somehow started laughing like Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit was out around then. I took me several months to make myself stop doing it, people kept commenting about it and thought I was doing it on purpose, I wasn't, I just picked it up for some reason.
He has that steal-your-girl voice.
Why would he want to loose that beautiful voice??? Sounds good! Sadly his Elvis voice is just about gone!!!
He has the sexiest most calming voice ever.. I want him to talk me through an anxiety attack 😂❤
Right 😭
I find it so weird that people think he’s forcing the voice when he was training for the movie for over 2 years, yeah there’s going to be a hint of Elvis there in his voice for a while whether you like it or not😅
Elvis’ voice also changed and developed deeper and deeper. It’s the vocal cord damage/adjustment
How long have you been a fan of his?
Thank you. Thank you very much.
vanessa hudgen's comment still gets me every time
I hope his voice stays as it is.

Saw Dune 2 today and he sounds completely different, good for him for being versatile!
It’s an awesome voice! I have no issues with it and it suck’s so many people are all freaked out about it.
He’s never gonna escape these questions man
Does it matter what his voice sounds like he’s a damn good actor and singer I saw him in Elvis and he was brilliant.
he sounds similar to how he's always done, just that his voice is deeper now
it amazes me how ppl say it is not his voice when they have not heard his real mature voice in the last few years...most probably ever.
He's keeping that voice until the Awards season is over
He played a great elvis
Again, what’s wrong with sounding like Elvis? He’s the gold standard. Why are people so stupid? Love you, Austin. ❤
you know what, let that voice stick, it sits him fittingl
Did Graham seat the future Best Actor & Actress Oscar winners together? Let's hope so 🤞 Love Michelle Yeoh too 🥯
Austin Butler keep the sexy Elvis voice; Elvis was heart throb of 50's and 60's; last few years of Elvis's life I have looked at old pictures of that time frame; believe he had congestive heart failure that was not being treated properly. He was from the pictures in massive fluid overload. Beautiful soul who left this world to early.
Oh god I wish they’d leave this kid alone. He worked for three years on the bloody thing of course it changed but he was magnificent as Elvis and doesn’t sound anything like him now?! Mad. Within about 5 minutes of loving him and his breathtaking talent the ridicule started. I can’t stand people sometimes
How long have you been a fan of his?
I feel like if one were to be casting for a Tom Waits biopic this guy would be high on the list of people to ask.
He's got the facial structure and hands for the role
Seriously leave him alone!!!! Also something very important, not only did he recorded at the studio, many people don't know he sang LIVE on set every single time, every single song over and over again.

Yes it was his vocal coach
good actor.
should definitely play in a Dr Seuss movie... like a grinch. that would be awesome
He does naturally sound like Elvis.
Yeah they wouldn't have hired him if he didn't a little naturally I think

@@crazy4corbinbleux Don't judge hypocrite.
My theory is he had a voice coach and found his natural voice actually sits lower, that can happen sometimes, to me it was the other direction
I feel like he will always have a hint of his voice considering the amount of time he went basically listening to him on repeat
he is definitely starting to sound like himself again

I would love that voice I listen to his music even though I am 8
This kid is taking the mick now 😂
I think his voice sounds very cool. I think it's matured like a whisky, red wine or a cheese. I don't have a voice as cool as his. I never have. I have a deep, low pitched voice that can be charismatic when I want it to be but, it's nothing like his.
