Austin put his heart and soul into portraying Elvis. After speaking in a certain tone for years, you can’t immediately shut it off. I personally liked it. His voice sounds a bit different now, but he just has a deep, great voice. He should never feel “ fake”, he’s an extremely genuine man.

In psychology studies for my degree, in a module regarding the human behaviour, it actually lists people who quickly (unintentionally and without noticing they’re doing it) mimic others mannerisms, accents, tone, voice etc as people who are highly empathetic people and there is a strong correlation between mimicking and those who are altruistic and kind hearted. So he shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed.
That is very informative. I used to start speaking with people’s accents and it would lead some to think I wasn’t being genuine. Than I would get criticized for it, when, in fact, it was pretty unconscious! I had to adapt myself to speak with my state’s accent, but whenever I get in constant contact with people with different accents, I can’t help but blend the different accents.

I just got my wisdom teeth🦷 removed 2 days ago (Wed, May 31st) and I pretend imagining myself Austin at the oral surgeon’s office helping me relax by listening to his beautiful soothing voice as soon as the doctor apply anesthesia💉 through my veins putting me to sleep😴 before they begin the surgery, and it worked very well! Haha 😂 From the bottom of my heart: he’s perfect no matter what ❤️

I would say it is more of his cadence than accent. He has a more slow paced thoughtful lingering expression to his voice. And guess what? People get drawn into what he is saying because of it.

If you look at it from a vocalist perspective, there's a difference. Before the voice is more supported, brighter and more resonant. The later clip has the same tone but compressed, more tension and a warmer round tone that's being created at the back of the mouth. It seems like in the process of playing Elvis he took on a new technique to the way he speaks. That can happen when training your voice to sing as well.

Oh god I wish they’d leave this kid alone. He worked for three years on the bloody thing of course it changed but he was magnificent as Elvis and doesn’t sound anything like him now?! Mad. Austin, there is NOTHING phoney about you darling. Your voice is soothing and beautiful that you can put me to sleep😴 at the oral surgeon’s office because I’m getting my wisdom teeth🦷 removed in a few weeks again. Yes darling, this is part 2 of the surgery. So far I got the upper wisdom teeth removed last month (April 4) and honestly I can’t help but dislike the procedure because I was awake and OMG the extraction was uncomfortable, but luckily I survived without crying badly. Now in a few weeks I’m having the 2nd surgery for the lower tooth removal and this time I’m gonna be put under so I don’t feel anything because I’ll be asleep. So yes, just listening to your voice can really help me relax when the surgeon / nurses inject💉 or apply whatever medicine to make me fall asleep as soon as the IV sedation or anesthesia kicks in before the surgery begins haha😂 From the bottom of my heart: your voice is perfect no matter what - I ❤ it! That says it all sweetie. Anyways everybody, wish me luck for part 2 wisdom teeth removal. I hope the surgery goes well when that day comes🤞😬

It's not just the sound of his voice but how he carried his speaking. Obviously here he's more aware and trying to kick it. But all that was constant practiced result ... he did the ultimate method acting achievement. He went so far he needs to condition himself to get out of it.

When I was in JR High I somehow started laughing like Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit was out around then. I took me several months to make myself stop doing it, people kept commenting about it and thought I was doing it on purpose, I wasn't, I just picked it up for some reason.
Seriously leave him alone!!!! Also something very important, not only did he recorded at the studio, many people don't know he sang LIVE on set every single time, every single song over and over again.

it amazes me how ppl say it is not his voice when they have not heard his real mature voice in the last few years...most probably ever.
That's the price of method acting. He spented so much time studying Elvis that a part of him could't get out of character, his mind and voice got so used to it that it became his natural now. Other examples is Heath as Joker and Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, it's really psychological but it doesn't seem to bother him to a point that he should seek help.
