They have different approaches what it comes to performing this... I mean, Sia expresses perfectly that helpless and reckless attitude the lyrics talk about, while Renae’s version sounds to me as someone that’s not on the edge anymore, what Sia’s version would be after all is said and done, when you’re sober.

Wow. I have never heard this song sound so sad before. I always thought of it as a party or drinking song but this made swing from the chandelier sound like Sia wanted to hang herself, and I mean this in a good way. Though tragic and dark to think about, it's a tragic and dark song that can be deceivingly happy, just like someone suffering can put on a smile irl.
