At 64, retired after a 35 year career and after many trials and tribulations, always a caregiver to so many in my life, a constant to do list and now in my 5th year of sole caregiver for my elderly mom with Alzheimer’s I so crave a quiet, peaceful life. I give thanks for my faith that has always provided me strength through so much. I’m an introvert, an old soul that just craves quiet time, prayer time without interruption, time to live the life I so crave….my favorite cozy candles, working in my gardens with nature, my favorite seasons of fall and winter because the world tends to slow down a bit more. Myself and my husband and our four children gave up the city life and my husband left corporate 3 years ago. We brought, land a home and now run a family run campsite only 4 months of the year. We have animals and peace. The best thing we ever did. Amen

2020 forced us all to slow down...so far, I have no desire to go back to the old normal. Over the years I have learned that my worth is not found in productivity and that each moment is to be savored and cherished. It's sometimes hard still, but I find that if I pack too much into my day, my degree of discontent and restlessness increases exponentially. ☕︎

Yes, as I get older, my life is slower with less extra activities and working only my scheduled hours. Death comes soon enough, why not spend some time relishing this life God gave and thanking him for each day. Fullness of life does not come in how much one can cram into a day, but doing an even small task 100%.

I don’t know how to take first step! Slow living is hard to achieve when you have adult children and Grands. I would not want to ever discourage their visits or their invites to participate in activities. I love them all so!
But, I do dream about my husband of 51 years to get reacquainted and just enjoy slow living with a purpose and centered on the one true goal in life! God and his blessings. Your videos are inspirational!

I wouldn't say slow living for me, id say peaceful living.. theres still chaos all around me, but I refuse to let it seep in my life. yes theres hurts, deaths and discomfort. but one thing for sure is that I make it back to the peaceful state where God allows me to be..

When the Lord moved us into the woods in TN I knew that HE would remove many things from our lives, I am so glad these things were removed. My focus on His creation and the peacefulness that is coming from within is so much greater now then it has ever been. It’s a struggle to go back into the city or visit others on family vacations because their lives don’t align with ours in its natural simplicity. I am blessed to be able to work from home and my view is trees, lots of beautiful trees. Rushing for me is painful and makes me feel ill, the Lord definitely knew what he was doing when he opened our eyes to this beautiful 10 acre plot of land in the woods on the Cumberland plateau 🧡
Country:Mountain living is a special blessing.
In tears of gratitude at the Lord's mercy to us, in all the simple things of creation that surround us which are so easy to take for granted. They are miraculous because they point to the love and care of Creator for us. Come, Lord Jesus! ☕

Beautiful video as always ! The way you care for your husband, your home, your fur babies (both pups and chicks and birds) is always so inspiring.
Quiet, intentional, slow living is something I took on wholeheartedly about 8 years ago when I started working from home and my husband retired. I woke up one day and had just had enough of always rushing, always running around, always being so exhausted. Its just me and hubby and our fur baby at home these days, and while i still have to work full time, since I'm working from home I now live and work at my pace and not that of the rat race of office life. It is also so helpful to be away from office drama.
I now crave my morning quiet time. Coffee and the word and prayer. My husband knows not to even think about discussing what's going on in the world with me until i've had my time with all those three things :)
My daily reminder to take it slow is "Be still, and know that I am God" - he's got this - all of this - the good, the bad, the in between.
Off topic but I just finished reading "Stepping Heavenward" by Elizabeth Prentiss. Not sure if you've read it. It was recently recommended to me and now i'm recommending it to everyone. I think you (and your followers ) would enjoy it.
Our way toward slow living started when I told my husband that working full time was keeping me from being what I wanted to be in our home. He agreed to my request and the rest is history. I love how your are able to share your heart with all of us. I've had to refollow and reset my notifications on my favorite channels for some reason and am so happy to see you in my feed again.

I'm watching this as I wind down for the evening, belly breathing and just soaking in the beauty of the video. The anxiety in my body has eased, even though I am sitting here with a ambulatory EEG attached to my head. Thank you for your content. I've been binge watching it on and off today.
I don’t remember the thumbs up colors, but I am working towards slow living. It’s somewhat difficult for me though. Working full time and being immersed in the healthcare culture, a reactive culture, makes for upset. But, as is written, grace and all things with love. It’s a balancing act. I really enjoy your videos with the tranquility and peaceful moments in nature , not to mention those wonderful fur babies. I live in a gritty urban environment, which can be trying at times, but quiet moments, and beauty, can still be found often, if you allow them.
Our life is very hectic. We’ve moved four times in five years and we’re currently living in an apartment that’s only half done. Twice per month we stay with grandparents for 3-4 days. I’m also awaiting a surgery where they’ll remove a giant fibroid and after that awaits a long time of recovery. Your video gave some of the peace and quiet I’m craving for. Thanks ❤
