    For some reason I have never enjoyed or been good at installing seat covers. But nonetheless, the TTR125 seat is in need of a new cover. Didn't turn out too bad after all!

      When you spent hours cleaning off old gasket, and you get it back together, and it leaks oil from the side cover despite the work and new gasket

    Took the plunge today and installed a Ceet seat cover on my DR350. This is THE tutorial for recovering a seat. I watched at least five others and this is far and away the best. Beg, borrow or buy a powered stapler, a hand stapler might be OK for a seasoned pro but as a first time installer without power I would have butchered it. Thanks again Cameron, your videos are excellent!

    Great video! The best thing I learned was to put the new cover in the clothes dryer for about 5 minutes before installation. That made all the difference!

    I like to leave the seat foam out in the hot sun and put the cover on it loose and let the sun warm it up so the cover starts to take shape before i start to staple. The foam will hold heat for a while which helps

    i must take the time to thank you, on behalf of my self and of the community, for this content.
    ... I still am not confident to proceed using a hand stapler but a heavy-duty electric stapler should, pretty much, pay for itself, on the first job.

    I just did a seat cover on my 2018 Husqvarna TC 250 and used the same staple gun. Just press it firmly to the seat and the staples go in just fine. The seat cover looks good.

    If it's hot out, I put the seat cover in the car with the windows up. Lay it out flat so the wrinkles flatten out. I also keep a heat gun close to help warm thing up while installing, just to keep the cover nice n warm

    i sewed together my own seat cover from material i found. its not stretchy though so it has to be a perfect fit. its not. not really anyway. i wouldnt mind, but i am now midway through completely rebuilding the bike and my diy seat cover is now the weak link. but im too cheap to replace it, lol. i have yet to staple it on. maybe a heat gun will help me stretch it to remove wrinkles. or some more sewing to get it more dialed. eh.

  • @evanparker
    @evanparker 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    i actually love re-covering seats! it makes such a big difference in how they look. go from zero to hero with a $30 of vinyl! awesome. The trick to the staple gun is doing it on a VERY HARD not-squishy surface. if you're just pushing on the seat in the air, it isn't going to go in straight. i use a little metal donut (1/2" id) i had as a cut-off from my lathe.
