another thing you can do with your little "exploration fleet" since you're not bothering with weapons is use the OP's to install expanded cargo/fuel tanks. It's not a massive increase but it helps
Just discovered you and this let's play the other day and I'm hooked. Your commentary is great. Just started the first semester of my final year and I've got your video running on a 2nd monitor while I work on assignments in the early morning hours. Thanks for the content. Looking forward to more.
Watched the SsethTzeentach review of the game, made me want to play. Bought the game and...forgot about it for three years. Remembered, hopped in, realized I'm too terrible at it to enjoy it. Now I watch this and live vicariously through you. Thanks for the content sir, I think I'm sold and it's time to catch up and ride along.
great series Asher - keep it up! you couldn't equip some of the bombers on your monitor in the beginning since it was using fighter clamps. that hullmod allows ships without flight decks to carry fighters/interceptors but comes with restrictions about what you can equip in that slot.
I know this is 10 months late, but for anyone that is new and reading the comments. The civilian ship hull mod gives +2 burn speed(with bulk transport skill), but if you use military subsystems it will go to only +1. It also uses 1 logistics slot from the max of 2 you have. You can use a logistics hull mod like expanded cargo holds with civilian ship mod, but it will make you use 50% more supplies.(militarized subsystems removes that.)
You're welcome. I'm glad someone heard them, because I've been in that place where I was the one person in the crowd that really needed to hear what someone else was saying. I hope you're doing well.
Cryovolcanic planets are potentially one of the best options to colonize imo. At least in my playthrough those are usually the planets that make most money. They are especially good if you find one of those mining mods that let your planets mine more resources. Those mods are also pretty easy to find (in mining stations usually). So you shouldn't skip on checking those imo.
Some of the best mining planets, if you find one with both metal ores and volatiles. Downside being, Cryovolcanic Planets often have a high hazard rating and increased maintenance cost. Ideally you want a more habitable world nearby for Refining and Fuel Production. Producing fuel is like mining gold.
Name suggestions for officers: the lion, sigismund, sevatar, corswain. Name suggestions for ships: destiny's hand, litany of fury, eternal defiance, indestructible IV(if you get it you get it), vengeful spirit. Happy holidays
Thanks for all the ship names. I think I'm going to be going through a bunch of them pretty soon. Added (sorry for being a little late, it's been a busy week).
Um that is not how you use Monitor. That little guy, he is not good combat but man, have you see a ships not Onslaught or capitals. Stand toe to toe 3 Radiants. 3! I just spinning around with my SO Monitor. I even play "U Can't Touch This" in background. Oh the flux went up? That's what SO FOR! Run back flux and come back.

AHHHHH why did I forget expanded cargo? I have that mod and could have just solved some problems with it. Oh well, I'll remember that in the future.
I was sadly alone this Christmas, so thank you for the upload! Happy Christmas and merry new year!
I'm sorry to hear about the alone time but I hope it went okay. Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope the new year brings you good things!

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas! Hooray!
Hlle yeah, dyslexia bors!
One of us!
Okay so the ships you're flying about with that are at 8 in speed are also civilian so if you slap in military sub systems you can boos them to a 9
Thanks, I honestly didn't think about this. Hopefully I'll be transitioning to doing more than just trade fleet stuff soon though.

@@fonesrphunny7242 Also, incredibly important to have your own refuelling spot which you control. Ideally, more than one.
I thought it was just me - "What guns are you running in simulation. I guess we will never know" Rip
pretty sure Icari had metals 22:30 right off the bat
hahaha that's a great catch and now I need to change the title of the episode.
OH MY GOOOOD You have shield conversion front, one of the best mods you can install on monitor and you don't even read it, i'm losing my shit
Happy Christmas 'ol chap, I don't need to contact you (reach out....bloody yanks!) but good to know you're the kind of guy that asks.
Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you're doing well!
i know this is an old play though but still seeing you not put expanded cargo and fuel on the civ ships is so upsetting lol
May I submit this ship name:
Stellar Oblivion
Added to the list! Sorry for being a little late it's been a busy week.
