Thanks. Good vibes... watching this video reminded me that I have exactly that subscription problem... and now I'm going to sit down and resolve to solve it! I had already started by cancelling Netflix - a subscription I had had for about 15 years - and in the last few years I barely watched a series - so my next step was 365... and I forgot to address it. Thanks again.
I get it. I haven't watched Netflix in so long I turned it on last week and they switched me to an ad based subscription. Time to cancel. Thanks for watching!
I've been using it since the 1990's. It was called StarOffice back then. My employer, Sun Microsystems at the time, eventually bought the German company and open sourced it around 1999 or so.
Hi, you can view PDF's and you can actually do some limited editing in Draw but I did a video on the free PDF Editor I use here th-cam.com/video/Lf2dRhk6df8/w-d-xo.html Thanks you!
@@nodens30 Yes. Microsoft had a program called Microsoft Works during the Windows 95 era. Microsoft Works was a productivity software suite that included a word processor, spreadsheet, and database management system. It was designed to be a more affordable and less feature-rich alternative to Microsoft Office.
@@RfromG-bd4fb my point is that you said it was Office, it was not. They were different products. It was discontinued as people wanted the full function of Office. It stopped being viable to keep Works running.
@@nodens30 Yes. It was called Microsoft Works. As it was almost 30 years ago, I wasn't certain whether it was called Microsoft Office Works or just Microsoft Works.
I love the idea of Libre Office but when I've used it in the past (on Linux coming from Windows using MS Office) there's been minor layout differences and the documents just don't look exactly the same. Maybe they've fixed this, I haven't tried in a while. Also does it include all the same fonts?
Hey its important to note that Libre Office is not intended to be an Office 365 clone but rather an alternative to 365 so there are definitely differences in layout. However, its definitely changed over the past couple of years so you should definitely check it out. As far as fonts, they likely have more now since they are always updating but you can download additional fonts. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Not out of the box, but you can try their extension page on the main site. You can also check GitHub. Since Libre Office is open source, their are always developers releasing new addons. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the feedback. For me personally I needed the writer and spreadsheet functionality for working between home and work. It's worked well for me so far. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate your time BUT you made the classic error so many YT producers do and that's add a cheesy background music track that serves no purpose. Worse, it's almost at the same level as your dialog. I agree with your notion about Libre Office but I stopped listening after about 3 minutes ☹.

Libre Office has become a must for my use case. I have it installed on all my PCs and try to convert as many others as I can.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve been using this since you dropped this video and it’s been very helpful. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
Libra Office is a must. I have been using it for years and wouldn't use anything else.
Thanks for watching!
It's Libre as in free, not Libra as in the zodiac sign.

I agree - I don't like subscription model for personal use either - there are some reasons in business - at times.
100% agree. I have subscriptions for business that are necessary but any opportunity I can find to get rid of them I do. Thanks for watching!
This is definitely a must have. Thanks
No doubt!

Microsoft Office was once free. It came with the computer. It was called Microsoft Office Works.
Thanks for watching!
Works was not Office. It was a cut down tool giving basic functions.

Save yourself money and headaches and move on to Libre office, I already did.

All those "alternatives" are ok for very simple tasks. None of them replicates MS Access with any degree of compatibility.
