Interview: Mathematics Professor Ivan Fesenko Joins Westlake University

Professor Ivan Fesenko has joined Westlake University full-time. Prof. Fesenko formally served as an assistant professor and associate professor at St. Petersburg State University, and as a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Nottingham, UK.
Fesenko's mathematical research, which includes explicit reciprocity formulas, explicit class field theory and advanced class field theory, advanced adelic structures, advanced zeta integrals, expansion of IUT theory and applications, and more, has pioneered the development of many fields of modern number theory.
We sat down with Prof. Fesenko to discuss his background, why he chose Westlake University and what his aspirations here are.
