- Sometimes you guys you put so much time and effort in to things to the best you can do but with the farm life something always happens when something passes on the ranch and there was nothing you can do it’s really up setting but I like to share this stuff to show you guys what can Happen at the ranch!

I’m so sorry for your loss. My neighbor’s two dogs killed 10 of my chickens in one day and all of them are pets and have names. They killed my favorite she was my baby and she would fall asleep in my arms and I got her as a rescue and we found all of their bodies except for hers so we couldn’t even have a proper funeral for her and I loved her so much and those dogs are never in their own yard. I’m not going to blame the dogs because that is their instinct but I do blame the owners for not properly taking care of their dogs. They have a fence but they let them run around the yard and don’t watch them. They have killed my chickens in the past but this is the most at one time so I know how it is to lose so many things you love in a short period of time. I’m really sorry for you loss.

Great Pyrenees Dog is exactly what you need. But your neighbours.. Regardless of the fact they help you at times, they need to keep their dog and pig properly locked up. Because it can't happen again. Poor Goat and ducks.

Styx62 Ga it was his neighbors pot belly pig that wanted to fight with Blakes boar. He's been there before. The guy needs to keep his animals in his own property! Hogs root stuff up, but it would not have killed for sport like a dog. Neighbor dude needs to pay up.
You should think about getting a male goose. I’ve seen people on TH-cam who have a male goose to protect the hens. They start squawking very loudly whenever they see intruders going after their hens. They say geese are worth it for protection. I don’t know if you are planning on keeping the hens in the barn, but I would still buy it to see how it works at night. They don’t cost that much. And I think it would make you and your mom and sister feel better.

Another option is a llama. They’re great guard animals and their spit temporarily blinds canines. I would definitely recommend one or two

I own 6 at the moment, have for years, and the woman I work with, who is also a llama breeder and sells guards specifically for dog and coyote protection is the one who has given me information about guarding. I can guarantee that they’re amazing guards and I would trust 100+ head of cattle with a llama.

Sounds like the dog had a little bit of wolf in it and I'm really sorry for your loss I have chickens and horses and we have had multiple times where dogs have almost cleared the coop and I also work at a rescue center + petting zoo so I understand ur love for animals
It could be a Alaskan malamute they are a much bigger version of a husky I had one he he was the same weight and stood 6ft on his back legs was never nasty tho he was put down a few months ago coz cancer but he was nearly 13

Huskys have high prey drives. I highly doubt it had any wolf content in it. The owners of the dog should be held accountable for everything!

Dee Dee the dog has probably done it before. Most likely will be back. It's sport for a dog like that. Blake needs to turn the incident in to animal control and make a complaint.
huskys can have a massive prey drive, they literally have no control over it. Its the owners responsibility to ensure there dog is kept safe and fenced in. Its really sad about the other animals that died because it never needed to happen. As horrible as it is I don't blame the dog, i blame the owners it is there responsibility. The dog did what its instincts lead it to do. I am more concerned about its aggressiveness to people, that should never be a natural instinct. The owners need to address this issue rapidly and ensure the safety of other people and their animals.
Get a few guard dogs id say well worth investing in
You should get a guard dog. My aunt lost 17 chickens due to feral dogs and coyotes. She got a great pyranese and it killed a coyote two weeks later. Maybe some good flock dogs can help😊❤

As to the fence, I suggest that you dig about 10 inches down and about four inches wide for a concrete barrier, all along the base. When you pour the concrete, put ubolts (with nuts screwed on a bit) over the bottom fence wire and into the concrete, so that it will hold and never release. If you want to make it more fance, then when you dig down, use forms for the sides to make things nice and neat.
As to the hog, unless you know what happened for sure, it is also likely that the hog was only trying to get away from the dog and not the initial problem. You know more about that though, I assume. Though you have forgotten, I suggest that you talk to the neighbour about a large contribution to the cost of replacement animals to make up for the dog. What someone else wrote is correct, if the dog was agressive and attacking you, it should not be kept, there is now a possibility of happening again, only the next time could involve a child. And then if that somehow were to happen, you would be sued for not ensuring that, once you knew animal was not safe, did not report it to the authorities or take other action. Eliminate your liability.

Our goats and geese were killed by 2 husky’s :( they are still out their roaming free, the have killed one of our neighbors cats and I’m sure they have killed much more. Blamed it on coyotes for a long time. Those animals were like our dogs to us and I really wish I could sue somebody.

You definitely should consider getting some animals to protect the others. Llamas are another good choice to have, they work pretty well at protecting livestock

He can just kill the pig and make meat and then use the dog skin as a carpet.
There is one little thing you might not know but electric fences don't really work on hogs. The da** pigs are just too smart for it. They just get used to the electric current and break the circuit. Have had this problem multiple times. and if a dog is blood lusted well nothing can stop it from its prey. Better to use a guard dog...
Sorry to hear this. I hope you call the police on this because up here that dog would be ordered to be put down and tested, they would be fined, and force to pay you for damages. Forgiving is one thing but this not the first or last time with that pig. A family dog should not be acting like that and coming at you, would be the end of that dog if he did not stop. Your going to need to figure out how to anchor the fence in between the posts in to the ground, you could use the ground anchors they use for trapping. Here with all the new fencing you were doing this happens. Sorry for your loss again, keep your head up. I have had many Huskies in my life and they were very good with all other animals happy and playful. Thanks for sharing and I enjoy watching your videos.
I'm not trying to hate at all by commenting this I personally love all these animals and it really sucks that they got attacked and or killed and I get what you are saying but Huskies are not meant for being with other animals and I own Huskies personally it is in the dogs nature for hunting other animals and so it makes sense for it to attack these animals they are one of the closest related dogs to wolves so I personally feel like it would not be right to call the police or kill the dog because it was bred to do so again not trying to hate but wanted to let you know
@@ashlielewis2965 Police should be called to impart what is the law in their area not saying it should have to be put down, but that is the what the Judge would rule here. I do not think a Husky in Fl. is a good dog to climate match up. No offense taken, but the point is that this animal has proven it self to be not safe to any live stock or humans/children in their area, It went after Blake after the killing the animals that is the main issue. Now at this point in line breeding that is Dog so far from a wolf it is unreal and I have friends kinda family that raise Timber Wolves for breeding in to guard dogs called 95/5's. If any males snaps at him he must show he is the boss, if they draw his blood buy regulation permits he must put them down. He cried for hours last time I helped him bury his top male. I believe that most dogs reflect the way they are raised from a pup, and have not direct hate for any dog even the one that tore my arm to shreds when blocking a soccer goal with 400 people watching in New Mexico and I had to be treated for rabies because no one could or would come up with the dog to be tested. But here is a time tested farm life rule, once a dog kills live stock it will keep killing live stock. It is real sad put time proven thing. We had a Judge order a puppy put down because the Lady next door saw it bite the mailman, while that mailman now owns that dog he was playing with it at the time and was only way that the Judge would changed his ruling.
Huskies if worked with when they are young can be socialized to be good with small animals though not all of them will work out. Huskies have a pretty high prey drive because as Ashlie said they are still fairly closely related to wolves just like Malamutes. Although I agree with Richard that that dog should be put down since it attacked Blake as well as the animals. If the animal is able to get loose and willing to attack a person then its not safe to be in society because if that animal had attacked a child instead of Blake we would be hearing news reports about a dead child instead of just watching a youtube video about some ducks and a goat dying.
Huskies and malamutes are not closely related to wolves.that's a stupid myth made up because they look similar to wolves and to excuse bad owners creating bad dogs.
Also huskies were breed to be good with kids cuase huskies come from the chukchi poeple who used them for both sled dogs and family dogs.so Huskies don't actually have a high prey drive like many believe.

Unfortunately UNTILL the dog is either dispatched (killed) or kept pinned up it will continue to do it. On the farm if a pet or herding dog starts to kill they are no good.
