What you have been able to accomplish at your property in less than a year is amazing! You inspire me everyday and embody the rule of success about showing up every day. Thank you for what you do!
I have Globemaster alliums and love them. When they fade I spray them with purple spray paint to make them stand out for a longer time. Three yrs ago I sprayed them a second time and put them in a vase on my fireplace. Three years later I still enjoy them
Donna here, I have a lab that I trained to go in certain areas of my yard,(mostly along the fence line) so he stays out of my flowers. He never really showed any interest in them , but when he did, I just fussed at him, and then he knew to stay out of my beds. Same with digging! Your garden is coming right along. Love the colors!

When I’m not in the garden I might be picking up seeds or plants or rocks from visits to the lakes or rivers. I cut two large limbs from an old fallen willow stump at creeks edge to live in a bucket for a few weeks until they get planted in a highly visible location near the bridge. Every day is exciting when you create a garden!
GM Janey in Colorblends information package for their bulbs say you should not tie them. I know mine have been dying back and I’ll cut them back but not to the ground but just even with my current plants so the dying leaves can still continue to get sun until they die all the way back naturally by also as my perennial and annual grow they hide the dying daffodil leave. Much success with that technique, happy gardening
Just wanted to let you know I bundled up some spent daffies and planted a Crazy Daisy and a Banana Cream Daisy. Then you so much for the reminder to do this. Your garden is looking fantastic!
Greetings from Ireland, Great video and your garden is the bees knees, Drilling the holes is so clever and I wish I saw this video yesterday because I was out in the garden digging holes with a hard plastic trowel planting cosmos to fill the gaps in my flower beds.
It’s going to be so beautiful! I love Play’n the Blues Salvia…I lost many mature stems in a wind storm!😢. So I now secure the stems with long dowels so that I can still enjoy the plants. Sure hope you can solve the Montey issue, I know from experience that the marking is a real problem that will need to be solved ASAP. 🇨🇦🐕🇨🇦
You should have seen the excitement when Wayne's Daughters Greenhouse opened today near Racine, Wisconsin. Cars were up and down the road and lines were long. It was chilly and windy but we were all so happy to see all the colorful plants!
Looking amazing! Suggestion: to broaden the palette, try low growing herbs as ground covers along the very edges at paths and driveway. Thymes, oregano/marjoram, and prostrate rosemary are some appropriate California choices, looking good year round, and they also give extra pollinator opportunities. There are also ground cover pelargoniums that look amazing.
Hi Janey. I'm in zone 7 VA and managed to plant one Playing the Blues in what turned out to be its perfect spot 3 years ago as it is still alive. It's at the bottom of a slope with all day sun. I find the bloom stalks get longer and longer if you don't deadhead. I had 2 plants in a drier spot that did not make it thru winter. So moisture might be the key.
This video made me so excited! I can see your garden a month from now in my mind. It's going to be gorgeous! I am totally inspired with new ideas for how to rejuvenate some of my gardens that are in need of love.
Janey looking amazing! You have enough plants in the orchard garden that it has come alive. I agree with another comment that the monster plant will look too crowded there. It needs its own space. Also I think several sitting spaces would look great!
Your poker plant looks amazing spiking up out of the background! I love planting annuals...instant gratification! Your garden looks so neat. Beautiful work Janey!
This grouping of Flowers has to be my favorite so far although it's hard to choose. I hope you'll do a before and after. It's just amazing how much has changed and filled in- looks great!!
You've encouraged me to continue trying to saturate my garden with more color. I live with lots of trees and greenery and need color! PW..here I come! again! LOVE your garden and all that you have done. one little tidbit...pls try not to leave the handle of your wagon down on the ground. I've turned around and tripped on mine countless times. We don't have time for you to be injured again. 💜💜💜
I love bright colors in my garden! They just call my name when I go plant shopping… The orchard garden is looking beautiful! I don’t think you have enough space to put your “monster “ there, and it might shade your other plants.
Thank you so much for the tip on the daff leaves packaging!!!! I went right out and bunned-up my daff leaves and now everything looks so lovely and buttoned up!!! Your yard continues to be an inspiration to me!!!! My espalier vines that I did because of you look fabulous!!!!
I am really enjoying your videos and of course your garden helper Monty! lol Janey would you add information on which plants are deer proof or at least resistant when you show us the plant varieties it would really help me here as have a lot of deer and rabbits too. Thanks so much.
Oh my gosh! I just freaked out when I saw your Rockin' Playin' the Blues plant tag. Yours says 4H x 3W and mine says 2-4H and min 14"/max 18" spacing. I just bought 10 quart size plants and now I'm hoping they will fit in their allocated spots (2 spots, 5 plants each). I guess we'll see.....I've never planted these before.
I love your videos. They motivate me get up and get into my garden! I was able to get my whole zinnia garden planted and mulched yesterday while listening to you talk about your garden. ❤
Good morning, usually you look so clean when you’re planting but not today. You can’t believe how much better it makes me feel, I’m a mess always. The garden is coming along so well in such a short time. Can’t wait til July when everything is looking much bigger and fuller. I can’t get into my garden yet and I’m getting anxious to get going in my, new to me, garden as well.
This is exciting to see how you layer your plantings and how you achieve the fullness of the beauty.I love how the orchard garden is coming alive what a difference from when you guy's first got your home.Just beautiful Janey!🕊️💚🌹
My daffodils and tulips did the best this yr, plus my lilac bush is very old I cut it way back 2 yrs ago and it really came out more thick with blooms like crazy was so beautiful and I'm in 9b only about 3 hrs north of you, but we've had lots of rain.
Snap that’s gorgeous…… Meanwhile here in zone 6a it’s still to cold and raining to plant much out. So many ideals to remember for May. Loving your space
Thank you for reminding us about having annuals that pop. I seem to have to remind myself to get those. I was really impressed with your interview last year with Tracy. What struck me most is when she said Butterfly Weed (the orange one) is her favorite flower. I had swamp weed, but not the beautiful butterfly weed. It really is a standout color. Who would have thought :)
I told myself I won’t be buying any annuals this year but as I watch your videos I think.. oh I want that one and that one and maybe that one. They are all so beautiful
Everything about your videos brings a smile and breeds inspiration. Your delightful music, sweet smile, and the overall beauty you bring to your garden; absolutely delightful. Thank you.
The Knifophia looks amazing. Can't wait to see those incredible annuals come to life! One thought... should you cut the bloom stalk off of your daffodils? I always thought that they sucked some energy from the plant.
Absolutely beautiful it’s been such a pleasure to follow you all these years. You are truly blessed and your new property is like heaven on earth 👍🥰❤️ Liz in California
Another? Beautiful day to garden with you. Since our weather does not permit me to do my gardening quiet yet. I get my fix from you. Thank you, A joy to watch. I have to wait one more week and then yea planting begins. The Oklahoma gardener.
It’s looking so good!! Love the bright colors!! I think lemon coral sedum would be amazing where you were thinking about putting creeping Jenny! I love LCS!!
Everything is looking amazing! I can’t remember- did you plant anything in the ground before you laid down the cardboard and compost/mulch? It would be fascinating to see a before and after of the soil, because WOW - your soil is looking dark and amazing!!
It's looking great. Just a warning: Last year my Suncredible Sunflowers got 3' tall by 3' wide. They were wonderful. I hope they won't cover up your rose too much.
I like the solution for the daffodils. Never saw that before, but it is genius! And I do enjoy your daffodils. Found some that can grow in Central Florida so I am going for it next Spring.
Looks amazing! The Knifophia with the Nepeta looks great. I’d put lemon coral sedum or creeping Jenny in the front of the beds. Nice contrasting colour. You could do on both sides of path.😊
I am so impressed with how far your garden has come in such a short time! A lot of hard work and effort is certainly paying off right now 😊. I have a question for you: I have areas in my front and back yards that I would love to do a no-till or no-dig method; is it too late to get it started or is this something that should be done or started off season??
Thank you for your videos. Your garden is really starting to blossom, I love it. Thank you for not speeding up through your videos, like alot of videos do. I like watching it in real time.
Janey, it’s absolutely amazing how your garden has grown in such a short time… I am loving it 🥰 l too love color and you are knocking it out of the park, girl❤
Wow Janey🌺 . Your garden is going to be amazing it full of pretty plants and you can add more verbena color to your garden also if you plant stonecrop sedum also dianthus , fiurewitch, or lemon coral sedum for ground cover . Have a wonderful week .🌻🌺🌻
OMG!!!! Yes! I’ve missed that monster so much! Seriously I’ve said that so many times since it was removed at your last house😂 remembering when you dressed it for Halloween lol YES YES YES bring the monster back!!!!!!! 🤗 space is really feeling in! Lovely!

You need Laura's longer shaft on you oger so you can stand up and dig all the holes at one time!!❤
BEET JUICE makes the dog pee male or female killed plants. But you can get food without BEET JUICE in it I do!!😅
I just saw the 'famous' supertunia Bubblegum @ Home Depot in Southern California. In fact they had a good selection of Proven Winners .
Janey it’s hard to believe you’ve only lived there for 8 months!! The whole property is coming to life. You are doing an amazing job.
I think the monstra will look to jamed up that close to the tree, how about over in the willow bed👍make it a feature plant😊
Looking great Janey! So fun to see how much you’ve gotten done!
I love watching this garden come alive.
I have Globemaster alliums and love them. When they fade I spray them with purple spray paint to make them stand out for a longer time. Three yrs ago I sprayed them a second time and put them in a vase on my fireplace. Three years later I still enjoy them

Jim Putman at Hort Tube recommended salt tolerant plants on the corners as they survive dog christenings 😂
What are some salt tolerant plants?
Dog Christening🤣 Never heard that before but that's hilarious.
Your yard is the best fun! I love to see your progress!!!
Hey Janey, What about planting some shrubs? Thank for the videos, love watching xx
The purple and orange grouping of plants in the background is so pretty! It drew my attention every time it was shown in the video.
💚💚💚Maybe ask Jim Putnam about the It’s A Breeze™️ Groundcover Rose he just talked about- Zone 4-11 🤓
Beautiful view with Red Hot Poker
Plaid and Poppy will be proud of you!

Thanks for the help on tidying up the daffodils. I have the same issue here. I’m going to try this. 😊
Some thyme would be a nice ground cover choice for along your path..it would smell nice as u walk on by 🙂🌱
Your garden is looking so beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to tag along.
I hate wishing summer away, but I'm really looking forward to seeing all the plantings come into their full glory.

It is my understanding, you can train a dog to only use one area of your yard as bathroom. Save plants and cleanup since everything is in one area.
Looked all over and can’t find where you got your hat…I think my wife would love that for Mother’s Day…
Well your property's really coming together. It's looking beautiful
I told myself I won’t be buying any annuals this year but as I watch your videos I think.. oh I want that one and that one and maybe that one. They are all so beautiful
Omg, your soil is like butter 😀 black, fluffy, rich… black gold
The color in your garden beds is going to be beautiful!!!! 💕M

For those in the SF Bay Area, SummerWinds Nursery had a small amount of PW annuals at $8.99/each yesterday in Dublin.
Janey its amazing how rich your soil looks! Great job ammending that once tired plot of land! Its all looking so colorful already.
Ajuga is a salt( urine) tolerant plant! Good for dog owners!!🐶love Monty!
...note - ajuga is invasive in warmer climates...
I love Tracy and all her color. I’ve thought several times you reminded me of her. Everything is beautiful
Janey, your huge garden is looking so beautiful. I've got to get to planting myself.❤

It’s time for colour in our gardens 🤗🤗 looking beautiful Janey 💕
I grew the superbena imperial blue. OMG what a beautiful plant. The color is outstanding. And the spread is perfect!
It's looking great. Just a warning: Last year my Suncredible Sunflowers got 3' tall by 3' wide. They were wonderful. I hope they won't cover up your rose too much.
I see blooms on the pomegranate tree! It’s looking great ❤
I like the solution for the daffodils. Never saw that before, but it is genius! And I do enjoy your daffodils. Found some that can grow in Central Florida so I am going for it next Spring.
I love the color contrast. I have a red, white and blue garden and an orange and purple garden. They are so much fun.
Love it!
I used Sun-credible last year and they put on a heck of a show! Ordered both and they came yesterday 👏🏻 So excited!
Looks amazing! The Knifophia with the Nepeta looks great. I’d put lemon coral sedum or creeping Jenny in the front of the beds. Nice contrasting colour. You could do on both sides of path.😊
Hi Janey,

I cut my daffodils down to the halfway point yesterday. See what happens next year😅
I am so impressed with how far your garden has come in such a short time! A lot of hard work and effort is certainly paying off right now 😊.

It is looking so pretty! I am excited to see it grow :)
Get a fire hydrant for Monty front and back lol brenda Waterloo canada

Janey - I had a wild idea about the driveway. Could you paint it with very large lattice pattern to mimic the lattice pattern on your espalier on the wall? I tried to attach a picture for you but it wouldn't let me. Love what your are doing in the garden!
