I’ve done it like this for years because I don’t like the way the cuticles look when too close. They just look so much like press-ons and I like the perfect flush.
Right? I noticed that with all the Korean girls. They don't butt the full cover tips right up to the cuticle. Then fill the space in with a liner brush.
I struggle so much with gel x lifting i saw this hack on tiktok and it seems so promising. Im really excited to give it a try. Love this cateye look you did amazing! ❤
This is how the korean nail techs I watch on YT do their nails. Ive been applying my full covered tips this way for about a year now and I love it. Its genius
Same. My cuticles are rounder than most tips so this is the most comfortable way for me to wear nails. It is seamless, beautiful, and long lasting.
They call everything on tik tok a hack when it’s been out for a while

The gel-x method is mainly used by Korean nail artists! Specifically jounail It started going viral over on tiktok once some larger nail influencers discovered their videos and tried the methods out! 💗

I have been using this method every time I do my nails, and I love it. They last longer and feel stronger when I use this method.
i have been doing the overlay method for about 2 months now and I am never going back to the og sealed cuticle method. Your nails grow out so flushed and there is NEVER lifting. I highly recommend. Also, love ur videos Brandi, I am a new subscriber.

I've been doing my nails like this for almost a year now, watched all the tips and tricks to make it so my nails would not pop up and nothing was working. They all wouldn't pop off but I always had 1 or 2 week 1 and at least 3to 4 week 2. The owner at the nail supply store I go to had me try a four-in-one nail gel (promised it would work) and I have not had one problem since (3 months now)! None of my nails pop up at all anymore! It's called Hang 4 in 1 gel. I wash my dishes by hand and do a lot of cleaning and almost half the time forget my gloves and still I never have a problem!

Professional nail techs have been doing this method for a very long time. It does look more natural because if you blend the full cover tip to just below the cuticle it is a lot less bulk and that white part before the cuticle shows and it looks real. I watch every video and your talents are just getting better and better. Keep up the great work!
I just started doing my own nails and today i really struggled with the gel glue adhesive coming out of the bottom and i already lost an index nail 😢 so thank so you so much for showing me how to do it this way! In going to redo my nails like this for sure. Beautiful goodies and nails. 😍 🥰 If you want a mirror chrome look after you mix it with the top coat add a few drops of acetone to the mix and it will. If you add a few drops of alcohol it will be a soft look. Thanks for sharing. 🩵🤗

I use this method as well but I notice that there is a dip between my cuticle and the nail even after applying the rubber base coat any tips

Love the nails 💅 absolutely gorgeous. You always do such beautiful work. 😍 Have you ever had a Gel polish not cure correctly I used a new brand to me last Night and cured it to instruction and the color bubbled up under the top coat on 7 out of 20 fingers & toes nails. 😳 🤔
Thank you! Yes I have had that happen, I don’t really know all the reasons for why it may have happened but I think it could be because the quality of the polish isn’t that good, or maybe it needs to be cured longer, or needs a powerful nail lamp.

Please please please keep doing videos like this with the different “hacks” or whatever you’d call them. And definetly try some more airbrush designs. I’m here for it all!! The overlay method for gelx is how Korean nail artist have been doing gelx for the better part of a decade. it became viral on TikTok after a tiktok gelx nail creator watched some videos Korean nail artists videos and then shared this method on their platform.
This is how i learned to do my gelx nails 3yrs ago before gelx became popular on TikTok. This is method allows my nails last so long and its so beginner friendly!
