    Recently I was on a job with the South Korean guy approximately my age(40) I had done three years in the Army (Canadian)he had done three years in the Army(S Korean)and we both agreed that in the Infantry mostly what you do is digging and walking digging and walking digging and walking.
    🤣🤣🤣🤣.
    It's funny because his English was a little rough but it translated so nicely.

    I don't know exactly when they were eliminated, does anyone remember SCOP kits, self contained overhead protection kits it was basically a piece of plastic tarp and these Aluminum plates attached with white paracoard. You were supposed to use them to build the overhead shelter. I don't remember how many feet of dirt you were supposed to have on top of it...they never held . They kept collapsing into the trench. Sketchy AF.
    And the Corrugated sheets NEVER looked that nice...I was definitely glad I'd had a tetanus shot.

      I actually own one of these kits.. It's in my storage unit though. At the end of training, they gave it to me because they didn't want to do the paperwork to turn it in lol. I figured "hey! you never know when you are gonna need a tarp!".. its been a bit over 10 years and I still have not needed a tarp.

    Digging in sand? I've never seen this anywhere in Canada.

    • @A_Ryan
      @A_Ryan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Head to one of the Prairie bases. They are usually next to rivers, and all sand.
      Usually easy to dig into once the top soil is cut out. Except I've always been sited at the one clay soil spot in the area when everyone else had sand. My trench in Wainwright was probably harder than concrete by the time we were done with it.

      Ya, try setting up in a place with four types of ground all within 30m. One guy gets sand, one gets soil, one gets swamp, and I fucken get shale stone after digging only one foot down and have to pick my entire fucken hole.
      Then get yelled at because I'm not done and every other cock sucker is. 🤬 FML
      OR
      You go to a training area where they don't want you to dig for environmental reasons and your trench is just marked off orange hunters' tape, and it's freezing rain and you're standing out in the open in your fake trench with NO protection from the wind etc.

      know a guy, he was still in his training camp and they were making a trench in the middle of a rainy night. Position was a tad bit away from a village. After digging a bit a nasty smell popped up, so did a local villager.
      Apparently his daughter died some times ago, and it was her grave. Nobody noticed as the guy did not had enough money for a tombstone, so only a cross made of stick was there
