What really distinguishes this piece from others of it's kind, is the amazing compositional balance and wide palette of unusual timbres. There is direction within the misdirection. One day, people will respect the masterpiece which is Circle Snare.

I saw him with my wife in los angeles playing similar piece to this. The tension was too much for her, she had to leave the room for a few minutes. Excellent!

He's going bald, he's wearing an un-ironed shirt and a pair of huge glasses... Yet somehow, he looks like the coolest guy on the planet!

Great set! One of the very few laptop noise artists who keep their sound interesting and don't have the "I'm checking my e-mail" look while playing live.

yeah you're lucky - he was playing when I arrived and I was just able to get set up and shooting in time to get what you see here.

It sounds like he's just got a loop set up of about 35-40 seconds or so, using all the different stuff he's got on the table to shoot through the mixer into the computer and then into the loop. He uses Max/MSP from what I know and it's a really strong program. I tried it out once and you definitely need a tutorial of sorts to know what you're doing.

It is music. Buy a vinyl and blast it through speakers when you're sitting alone at night in the dark. You'll understand that it has rhythms and atmospheres of intensity.
