This is by far my favorite rpg, if not game, EVER. Only thing I would add to this review is an addition about the replay value. I have played this game at least 8 times, and I am always finding new hidden dialogue (perhaps on a bookcase) or something I just didn't notice before. Truly an amazing game!
I love it when the reviewer goes into great detail about the game. It gives the viewer a better understanding of it all. I think this review was very, very well done. Who is the reviewer? I'd love to have more from him as long as he keeps up the good work. :)
I remember hearing a lot of praise for the Lunar series of RPGs. Other than a PSP release, I don't get why there was never a remake of this games released so far. I'd love to see Lunar Silver Star Story Complete released in HD on XBLA/PSN sometime in the future.
I just started playing this last week, I'm 20 hours in and I love it so far! I found a good copy at one of the many local used games shops in my city, It came with the long ass leatherbound instruction book and a cloth map, Bad ass!
I finally landed a copy of this game, and wow! It really is a standout RPG in my library. I'm a big fan of the Square and Taito RPGs and this is a totally different beast. The combat system is really cool. If you think you can just roll thru the first enemies with melee like most games in this genre, you'll get clobbered. I am maybe an hour into this game and I'm loving every bit of it. Every RPG fan should definitely give this one a shot!
In your dreams, magical thoughts... All things are real unless you dream they're not. In your dreams, love is the plot carried on wings of hope. Each of our souls intertwine, when we do. Instantly we see it the time to grow and be it when everything is pinned on a hope. Let rise the dreams of your heart, that innocent youth careless and kind. Free to roam the breeze in love only when two brilliantly shine as one...
I just downloaded it on my andriod along with epsxe emulator and got my xbox one S controller hooked up also .. I'm ready to spend hours on this game .. Nice review as always 👌
FF7 is the most overrated RPG, it's not bad it's just overly dramatic and cliche. So many people love it so frigging much because it was their first RPG they ever played. There are sooo many other JRPGs that have better stories and gameplay then FF7, they just get overshadowed by peoples nostalgia. Funny that the Final Fantasy series has sort of become the Call of Duty of the JRPG world.
Agreed, Cliff. I often say that, even among the Final Fantasy games, VII is probably the most overrated, with X being a close second. I'm pretty picky when it comes to JRPGs though, so I'm rather biased.
JUST borrowed this from a friend (He doesn't have any PS1 Mem cards...I still have 4 XD), this game taunted me for years on a shelf at the EB Games in my hometown. I wanna try it, I neither obsess over JRPGs nor really watch anime. But this game has appealed to me for over 10 years.
Yes a classic! (both PSX and Sega CD) Hmmm maybe I should dust these games off and play them again ;) Also - I miss Working Designs, I like the games they ported over and their localization techniques is still top notch to this day.
On a whim, I rented this game from a local Family Video when I was a kid. I had no idea I was going to play such a good RPG. I like the sequel more though.
So I found this game at the bottom of comic books an old dude gave me.... wow this shit is pretty hard. Thank god I still have a ps1 memory card so I can enjoy this gem. That, and I still love to play ff8 at least once or twice a year I love that game.
I had forgotten how hilarious and well done the localized translation was to this game. Save for some of the cheesy cringeworthy and often childish dialogue, awesome game.
Seeing this review, This version seems more interesting than Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for PSP. Even though it's rematered, with some fine tweaks, The battle system stops being fun before long when it has to load EVERY special attack and when a group of enemies show predictable attack patterns. Dungeon map designs aren't generic, but not too far from it. The pathway designs are badly crafted imo, Ex: walking into a pathway that lead to dead end with no treasure or nothing. The Story's good tho.
Lunar series,Xenogears(original) ff6,these are games that deserved remakes before ff7.Especially Xenogears,as they had to rush production halfway through.
This was a fantastic review! I am excited to have this new reviewer. He brings a more serious approach, at least in this review. I can't wait to watch his other reviews!
Just beat this game and I must say it was very engaging. The vulgarity, smart-mouth, sexism and sexual innuendos of Nall and the NPCs made this game for me.
And yet I prefer the "cartoons" of the old games a thousand times more. You can have new tech, I'll take the old stuff over the new crap any day of the week.
a womanizer swordsman, a wisecrack thief, a girl with revelations/dreams about the future, a humble and shy protagonist with a great future related to a dragon, how is this a non cannonic story?
ANOTHER REVIEWER? GEEZ!!! We already lost two females, Edit Station-1, and I think another guy or two? Can't anyone except Mark, Derek, Ryan, and TJ keep a job?
used to be a blood fan for it, this game is overrated as well though, also the true silver star story is much darker and stays on sega cd version, ...but first you have to DIE-quark, looking back its no match for SNes RPGs like FF3 chrono T and the king on PC baldurs gate. Should have never traded my Snes for the underdog sega cd >_

Thats awesome, how much did u pay for that complete copy?

I loved this game back in the day,
with it's sequel, Eternal Blue,
those were my happiest years of gaming,
PS1 is the best console for J-RPGs
I just downloaded it on my andriod along with epsxe emulator and got my xbox one S controller hooked up also .. I'm ready to spend hours on this game .. Nice review as always 👌
ok... here comes the burning hatred.. I like this game more the FF7.
***** Those are literally my three favourite JRPGs. And some of the only ones I like to begin with-- I still have the hard copies of all three!

Wenceslao Futanaki
are you completely out of your mind?
Great review! I love Lunar 1 and 2 so much, both are in my top 5 favorite games of all time.

Watching this brings back memories... Shame this gem isn't on psn. :(
I begged my mom for this game because the box looked cool, but I ended up loving the game.

The Lunar franchise is made by Game Arts
On a whim, I rented this game from a local Family Video when I was a kid. I had no idea I was going to play such a good RPG. I like the sequel more though.

I know! Crazy isn't it? When I clicked to watch this video, I was waiting to hear TJs voice. Biggest surprise of the year.
I love the fact that this game was put onto psp.
I love the creators of this game.
Love this game. I still have the limited edition with the paper box, fabric map, and everything else. I never di d

Also one of those old school style rpgs where everyone jogs in place all the time :P
I bought this game when it first came out. Awesome game.

This is the best game ever made me sad when the new ones came out and change the voice acting still play this once a year

@my pp small , i was cucked and spoken like a true cucked libtard
Remember when cartoon cutscenes were a big deal? This year we saw the release of a game with Pixar-quality cutscenes. How technology marches on!
And yet I prefer the "cartoons" of the old games a thousand times more. You can have new tech, I'll take the old stuff over the new crap any day of the week.
@@Thievius333 Exactly.
awesome review, thanks for no spoilers
one of my favorite games of all time from childhood
Nice review. I hope we'll see this in the PSN someday soon.
Jonathan has been here since November 2011, at least. lol, but you're right for the most part.

a womanizer swordsman, a wisecrack thief, a girl with revelations/dreams about the future, a humble and shy protagonist with a great future related to a dragon, how is this a non cannonic story?
Really like the review.
An excellent review. The others could learn from this.
I got mine on amazon.. lol I wish the used games stores around here sold ps ones.
Still my favorite RPG of all time.
Wasn't Lunar: Silver Star Harmony the PSP remake?

ANOTHER REVIEWER? GEEZ!!! We already lost two females, Edit Station-1, and I think another guy or two? Can't anyone except Mark, Derek, Ryan, and TJ keep a job?

FF3, Chrono Trigger and baldurs gate sucks, the Lunar franchise is way better, the SNES is not that great
i just feel asleep, did i miss something?
