There may be a consideration to be made between a detune and a chorus, which adds movement to detune . Putch shifters usually detune without movement, but most chorus pedals have at least SOME movement even at lowest.
You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire was such a fucking sick example to use bro, QotSA and Kasabian's tone is undeniably sick
Stylistically diff enough that it took me several minutes to realize what it was. A song I've heard hundreds of times and I'm "WTF is that?! I know it" lol
I look at this guy and I would never think he's going to pull out weird monster video game hilarity... Yet there he goes, doing exactly that. Seamless.
While I don’t have all of the pedals here, you just inspired me to have fun messing around and experiment more with what I have and just see what I come up with. Thanks
So glad you pointed out the octave/pitch shifter in front of a fuzz unit thing. That's one of my favourite combos and you're the first TH-camr I've seen even mention it! Fun fact: Ross Childress from Collective Soul made exemplary use of this combo.
Dude holy shit that ~900 with the delay was amaaaaaazing. And I own one! And I’m gonna do the thing tonight! So glad I found this channel. My new favorite spot on TH-cam.
Had my Fuzz Factory for nearly 20 years and I still find new sounds in it. One of my all time favourites pedals. My favourite way to use it is as a lead boost either hitting a dirty amp or another pedal, because you can make it sound like pseudo octave up fuzz. But it's not really octave up, it just sounds sorta' like a filthy version of it. Nice song choices too!
I would say there are 4 kind of fuzz circuits. Fuzz face, tone bender, big muff and octave fuzz. The germanium silicon has less to do with the differences. For instance the a silicon fuzz face and a germanium fuzz face will sound more similar than a fuzz face vs big muff for example. It's more about the circuits than the transistors.
Today, 5 minutes ago to be exact, I died and went to heaven. The gods have given the guitarwebsh, the fuzziah. Thank you for content that the world ACTUALLY needs and presenting it better than ANY axisting pedal channel.
Wow. This was the one of the most informative, creatively produced, and entertaining videos I’ve seen in a long time. As a child of the 80s/90s and a guitar player/enthusiast, this video felt like it was tailor made for someone like me. Thanks for the awesome video and I will be checking out all your stuff.
I’ve commented recently about your immaculate song choice and I gotta say it again, perfect choices! It so inspiring the way you rework the melody’s. The Buzzcocks was my favorite in this video.
Big fan from Hamburg, Germany here, w/kbd and a little guitar as well! I immensely enjoy your tutorial series, mate. So entertaining, musical, soulful, informative, helpful, sometimes disturbing, often out of the box, and always inspiring. Most importantly, seeing your grin when you stumble over some kind of tongue twister makes my day, guaranteed. Thank you! And thanks for asking about possible next topics (in the comments). Here's my 2 cents (or rather, 5 cents): - FILTER - VIBRATO (pitch modulation) - STEREO Dual Pedal series: - DELAY w/X (Delay with sth else like Reverb, Modulation, Delay Stacking, etc.) - FX ORDER (e.g. Overdrive->Reverb vs. Reverb->Overdrive)
Delay into fuzz is a REAL pro-creative tip. Also love the sega sounds, i have run fuzz straight into a console before and hooo baby its sandpaper glory! Love the advocation for going against convention. Also, I always run my octave after fuzz and gain, but now you have convinced me to try it wayyyy earlier in the chain
Nice sounds! I have a keeley fuzz bender which has a bias to blend the germanium and silicon inside it. I lean towards the germanium side, but still get that spluttery silicon sound when I want.
Damn, all of these sound awesome! The "Ever fallen in Love" Buzzcocks cover at the end with the delay and fuzz sounded amazing - and you are right, it sounds like the fuzz "eats" the trailing delays haha, and sounds so good! Thanks for sharing, I love your music and love your channel!
Try volume swelled full chords with loads of fuzz into big/massive darkish reverb for some super admospheric stuff! Just turn up the hall setting to the max or if you want to be real fancy, try a shimmer
Just wanted to drop by and say this: your channel is absolutely killer, dude. I remember stumbling onto your Ring Mod video and, even though I’ve used a DOD Gonkulator as my “secret sauce” for years, that video opened my eyes to so many options. And I wanna sincerely thank you for that. I’ve loved every one of your vids since then. Keep up the awesome content, brother!
I have never been a fan of the whole 8bit thing, for games or art or music or anything. THAT SAID this video was sick. First time viewer and I’m subscribed. Thanks man!
brilliant video dude,I'm a huge lover of fuzz pedals, especially big muff style I have the Muffaletta by JHS, Loomer workstation, EHX Big muff op-Amp and Berinhger Superfuzz SF300
As always this is so inspiring. I have the ~900, and I never even thought about how it's impromptu gate via bias would play with a delay running into it. I'm tempted to try it with reverb too now. Wonder if it will make reverb decay sound like a deteriorating radio signal. Every video of yours just makes me want to pick up and play, explore, tinker, try anything. I have discovered a lot of cool sounds in my rig thanks to this channel.
Awesome video, I never thought about running fuzz directly into my interface. I use an IR-200 so I'll just turn off the amp and cab and mess around there. Thanks for the tips, great sounds.
If you find yourself with a fuzz that can bias and gate especially if it's not buffer sensitive... the eqd dirt transmitter comes to mind.. you can send echoes of a guitar or even just a drum track thru it and get some awesome fuzzed percussive sounds. I have song or riff idea around this and when the harmonics or a bright chord hit the echo and hit the fuzz you get this bug zapper like effect that just decays beautifully
Another good tip for a bass player is to use a octave with no dry signal only octave down into a fuzz for a synthy sound, although for this I usually prefer ring mod or bit crushing sounds for making this sort of synthy thing
Thank you so so much. Your video has helped me understand my favourite Muse song a lot more :) Hearing the Zvex and understanding the solo in Citizen erased by Muse is the weird glitch noises mixed with the melodic guitar solo makes me really happy. Thank you! 😊 I'm subscribed now. And also that Queens of the stone age riff is killer! By the way I like the 90s video game references! Street fighter , Sonic , Streets of rage . I love the Sega!

Somebody invent a new effect category so we can keep this series going longer
what should I do after reverb, stacking overdrives, and lofi guitar, which are gonna be the next 3 topics
@@CyberattackWorld Something in the Digitech whammy world would be great. Excellent work.
@@willardthewhispricochet!
Seconded.
@@CyberattackWorld great, looking forward to those.
How about wahwahs and chorus?
Or on the more noisy side, ringmods and PLL type effects?
Been playing for 15 years, and that fuzz/chorus/slap DI might be the coolest thing I've ever heard
A boss PS-7 should do the trick
Hello, I like this tone too, but can't reach it, what is your pedals set ?
There may be a consideration to be made between a detune and a chorus, which adds movement to detune . Putch shifters usually detune without movement, but most chorus pedals have at least SOME movement even at lowest.

i suffered immensely for this
@@CyberattackWorldhow did being good left handed and right handed help your play style?
Getting the second hoodie with the reverse logo is another level of commitment too.
That glitchy lead into the QoTSA riff was insane. Really cool stuff.
thanks, that riff is so cool
You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire was such a fucking sick example to use bro, QotSA and Kasabian's tone is undeniably sick
that band rules
This channel has all three food groups - it’s entertaining, I always hear new ways to use my 67 pedals and the riffage makes me smile
Seconded.
You only have 67 pedals🤣?
I have literally never seen this guy's videos before and I loved every second of this. Makes me wanna go out and buy way too many pedals.
That Foo Fighters- Weenie Beenie intro made me so darn happy! A great interpretation of such an underrated song ❤❤❤
What a wonderful bunch of riffs in this video
Genuinely love how you come up with killer examples of how you can use the pedals in a mix that all sound awesome.
New favorite guitar focused channel. I marathoned most of these videos today. So rad.
Came for the fuzz, stayed for the Godzilla, subscribed for the Rage card! A lot of great ideas here, man! So glad I found your channel!
im thrilled that you know about rage cards
Oh man that face in fuzz factory example, I felt that. This is hands down one of the best videos about fuzzes, great tips
I watched a handful of your effects videos tonight for first time. You are a genius.
I love the Buzzcocks cover! Super subtle, super dope 🤙❤️
glad you caught that, I love that band

One of my favorite Fuzz uses is a "parked" wah pedal into a Big Muff into a thick Chorus (mybe use the neck pickup).
Best part of all videos.. he played Strat and make it sound heavy with all metal riffs..
Loved this, nice work. The Best Westrn, the monster at the pool, example #4 , and #5. The bass was heavy too.

Just to point out - there are also op-amp fuzzes (semiconductors). These can sort of blend the two traditional silicon and germanium sounds.
