The last thing she did was start a GoFund Me for him, for his medical treatment. He was able to use that money to get the treatment that is saving his life in Canada.

The only thing that I think I would correct my understanding was she set up a GoFundMe which got him his first treatment that had to do the stem cell replacement. He mentions me the poster boy for that in "Sic boi". Now may be wrong with this but I think that is the one where he was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease.
This song is, in my opinion, Ren’s most intense and vulnerable piece. The beginning just heart wrenching then goes into the staining, punk thrash type area that feels very unsettled. The ending? Not sure if he imagined her. Maybe she left him and he figured out how to survive without her there in the end? It’s intense, for sure, and makes one think about what it means to expose yourself completely to another, if that is laying too much on the other person?…another deep conversation starter. Ray, sounds like you have a solid relationship ❤. I’m happy you are so very happy.
My recollection was this song was all about his fears that he was losing his mind and that she wouldn’t be able to stick with him through it. He feared he would be alone without the crutch that was holding him up.

I have heard he wrote this after a nervous breakdown. Bibi was his then girlfriend that started the go fund me at his request to help pay for his treatment for his finally diagnosed Lyme disease.

I feel your words as deeply as I feel this song. I've fought my brain all my life. I attempted my first ending at 16. It wasn't my last. There were exterior forces at play with the battles in my head & my soul. I had my daughter @ 19 & married her father. He left a year later and disappeared. My daughter was my first anchor. I remarried @22. I had my son @23. 7 years later, he found a new family & home, leaving us to fend for ourselves. All the while, my brain was fighting me to make me stop. My son became my second anchor. Because I couldn't keep going for myself, I used my anchors to fight the tides in my brain trying to drag me under. I spent much time bouncing in & out of psych hospitals. I couldn't find my way out, but I had my anchors to help me keep swimming. There was no light to guide myself towards. I finally found a good doctor who understood what was happening in my brain, and he found the right meds. It was a start. This is going to sound stupid & crazy, but all my life, all I ever wanted was one person to accept me for, as I was, broken & beat (thanks Ren) and just love me for me. I used to joke I was the black sheep in a family full of them, the leper to the outcasts. It wasn't a joke. Shortly after getting the right meds & therapist for me, I met someone. He was irritating, childish, & I couldn't stand him. 3 months after we met, we went out for coffee after work. We spent every hour outside of work or not sleeping talking. For 2 weeks all we did was talk. I told this man everything about myself, even those secrets you keep from yourself. He did the same with me. This is crazy but I knew I had jumped in hook, line, & sinker. I was in love for the first time in my life. I found my light to guide me to the shore. We will be celebrating 21 years together the end of January. When I slid down, because it happened, he was there. When things broke, he helped put them back together.
When you talk about your wife & kids, I understand. I was thinking tonight watching this, I'd watch you just rant, man. You have history & experiences that have given you hard won wisdom. You should share it. Much love & respect my GenX brother.

This was written before Ren's diagnosis. There's a lot of speculation about what the ending means but to me.... she fought for him, she got him on his feet. Whatever happened after that she was there for him when he needed her. These were the song Ren was writing and filming years ago. It's boggling to me he was relatively unknown before this year. Ren said this was his fear. That no one would stay because of his illness.

This is one of my favorites, but I don’t think I could watch it if he had lost the battle 😿 The part with Bibi is so tender and you can tell those tears and the fear of losing his mind were real. Another way of interpreting the video is she was his crutch during some really turbulent times, which gave him the strength to not give up, and at the end he is able to stand on his own.
She truly was his crutch and helped with the GoFundMe that enabled him to get treatment. I think he will always be grateful. “Penitence” is another fantastic song/video that reveals more of the story.

As soon as I surrendered to my pain and reality, as soon as I admitted that I didn't know shit about anything, as soon as I dropped to my knees and asked the universe for help, as crazy as it sounds, the universe showed up to help. Always keep trying. But know that surrender is also an attempt and you're not weak for thinking that it is. As long as you wish for good, for yourself and then for others, the good will come. I promise.

I suffer from chronic illnesses which often leave me weak and always in pain. I couldn't listen before because it encompasses my worst fears for my own relationship (putting too much on her). Since then my worst fears have been realised and now it's even harder to hear this song!

Just because the person hurt you in some way and your angry for what they did, it doesn't mean that you can't be grateful for the things they have helped you with. no matter how much they hurt you or how little they have helped you. Trust me when I say that is a hard pill to swallow.

I think sometimes people are in put our lives to help get us through some of the storms. Even though she didn’t become his lifelong companion, she gave him the strength he needed during some incredibly dark days. And she helped with the GoFundMe campaign so he could get treatment.

Dang Ray you held it together better than me. Both when Bibi says "The man I know is Brave so don't you dare say your folding" and when she disappears at the end crush me. I also interpreted the end different I think she was there and left when his issues got too much for her to handle. Basically, what he feared happened he let her in and showed how much was going on in his mind (when the music got more rock/metal sounding) and she left, a fear myself and probably a lot of men have.
That was my interpretation as well. And when she’s not there, it crushed me too…. I cry every time I hear/see this. ❤

great reaction. if you want to see his growth, check out Lost Boy by his first group Trick the Fox. Not that it's not great, but you can see how his health struggle and time has matured him from that time. Some of us refer to him from those days as baby Ren, mostly because he looks so young and his music from them has such an innocence to it.
Yes! Trick the Fox “Run Away” and “The Mash Up” are also great ones to see his early days. You can see why Sony signed him. Baby Ren is adorable! It’s incredible seeing how his talent has continued to develop.
This song just breaks me and I love it so much. That this is 7 years old and we see how thin and weak he was but was still genius, I’m shocked he is only popping off in the past year.

I have a tattoo on my forearm to remind me but it says what matters most is how well u walk through the fire… not make it through the fire but as ur traveling through hell… did u smile… we’re u kind and gentle to others even though life is molding u… did u receive and treat with respect? I have chronic depression and anxiety. When met with adversity I will smile and hold my head up proudly I won’t give in to sadness because god blessed me with things bigger than myself.
I also understand the need for help with the burden of depression my beautiful strong amazing husband has held my hand through so much this past 7 years we got married and my head space hit a rock wall and he has held me up held my hand let me scream and cry felt with so so much he finds a way to make me smile even when I just want to cry he lifts me up when my sanity breaks. My motivation comes from wanting to be a better wife a better mother and a better human. It’s not easy and some days I struggle so hard but my family has my back no matter what I go though. My whole family left me my mom, my dad, grandmas and aunts because I was adopted but the family I created for myself have been there through it all when they had no reason to stay.. unconditional love and support is a blessing. If u don’t have a good family create one that’s all that’s important

If you want to see his growth you can check out his first band trick the fox (I suggest lost boy) then his band the big push (I suggest swan song) then the stuff on his own. There is definitely progress. You can tell in his trick the fox and even rens early stuff like pocket full of pain it has a similar sound to someone like Ed sheran whereas his newer stuff he's branched out more and broke away from that pop sound and dove into more of what he feels is right to do.😊

Ya know I love watching these reaction videos . So far on all the CRUTCH reactions I have seen do not seem accurate in MY eyes, What I see here is Ren dealing with the PAIN of his ailment and just the PAIN !! then Bibi came in to give support and be his CRUTCH when he was at his lowest point. Then when the BLUE and electric guitar came in was the mental physiologic taking over and Ren telling her that he knows she would follow but he can not take her down with him he LOVED her to much to do that !!
